  Try the following.

  Open windows control panel, open Windows Update, select "View update history" in the left pane and then select "Installed updates" link in the next window.

  Locate the KB2962407 update, right click and choose uninstall.  Once completed, restart the computer, open windows control panel, open Windows Update and select "Check for updates".  You will see the update that you have uninstalled just offered once again - right click and select "Hide update".

  After that you may or may not need to remove and reload the Realtek Audio driver - if you do, how to use Recovery Manager to reinstall the drivers and software is detailed in the document in question on the link below.

I use some youtube vedios to solve this problem and there is a solution by allow edge audio in the bios Setup... then I try to enter the installation using F10 but it ask password... then I hit "enter" 3 times and I could not able to enter the bios Setup... in audio device shipped here turn off but I can not change it...   You are the very welcome.

  There are two ways you can solve the problem.

  1. remove the rider of green password on the motherboard, following the instructions in the manual that I posted.

  I got hold of a Compaq DC5100 SFF desktop computer and install a new copy of XP Pro using the key provided.  I was able to get all the drivers except for the multimedia audio controller.  I searched and searched for hours without success.  Any suggestion on how to get the sound to work?  I don't have the original installation disc.  Loading XP Pro with service pack 3

  Go to Device Manager and right mouse click on the audio device and see if it indicates an error code.  What level of bios is your PC?

  Lookherefor your audio driver. It lists the ADI driver.
