No sound with hp pavilion media center m8020n

Almost 2 years, I got the video card replaced in my HP Pavilion Media Center m8020n.  Shortly after, the noise disappeared.  I have Windows Vista and an HP w1907 19 '' LCD monitor.  I have tried everything I can think to restore the sound and would like to know if the problem is the PC, speakers in the monitor, of which.  Thank you.

Hello:

Your replacement video card has an HDMI output port?

If so, probably disabled video card audio system integrated.

To activate the onboard video, enter the BIOS, find the onboard audio setting.

It will be set to auto or off.  Change the setting to "Enabled".  Save the configuration when you have made the change and again when you exit the BIOS (save settings and exit).

When you restart and return to windows, you should have the on-board audio back.

If your new card video has no hdmi port, or your audio settings on the BIOS is already active, then unfortunately, I don't know what could be the issue.

I don't know what to do about 10 Windows for my HP Media Center m8020n. I've had this for about 8 years and he loves and does not wish to continue with it. Can I put Windows 10 here and update all software there need or do I have to buy a new PC

    Hello

First of all I wouldn't do this on any machine that has more than 5 years. Secondly, please note: no free upgrade from Vista to Windows 10 you must buy Windows 10 license of Windows or 7/8 to get a free update of Windows 10. Money and time to devote to this would be painful.

But if you want to try, please read the following article:

  • HP Pavilion Media Center t3630: update the motherboard BIOS P5LP - THE visa of 6 GB of RAM / 3.5 GB usable (Windows 7 64-bit)

    Hello

I added 3 GB of Ram and installed Window 7 Ultimate 64 bit on HP Pavilion Media Center t3630.it, I can't use all the RAM that I added. (Visa of 6 GB / 3.5 GB usable)

The HP website is only a bios updated for XP and Vista.

This forum has recommended to make a partition with XP or Vista (doesn't install system) what can I do?

The motherboard is designed to work with four modules of 1 GB. It does not anymore.

  • HP Pavilion Media Center a1610n problem

So I had this problem which started today.

When I booted my PC: HP Pavilion Media Center a1610n - it goes to the startup screen with the HP logo but it remains just there frozen.

Another thing I have noticed is my mouse and keyboard are not powered at all even though they are correctly connected to their respective ports.

I don't know why he acts up like this now. I tried to connect the mouse to another PC and it worked, so there must be something wrong with the HP Pavilion itself.

Wouldn't be the motherboard or some circuit?

Other things to note that I got this PC reformatted all for more than a year with an installation of XP (as he came originally with XP).

Restarted the PC and still has the same issues. CD Player opens, the PC itself is powered and the screen is frozen on the blue screen HP startup. (Shows the menu and controls everything, but can not yet exploited cause there is not going to the keyboard.)

It is possible that a RAM module is either lost contact with the slot, or is defective. Can help with reintegration.

    (1) note what slots are occupied. Remove all the RAM of motherboard. Here's the tech manual. Put 1 module in the slot located near the CPU. According to the chassis, it could have a radiator/fan together.

    (2) unit to retest. Repeat with additional modules.

    (3) any module that tests OK can be reinstalled in appropriate accommodation.

  • Pavilion Media Center M8400f Bios Update for Windows 7

HP Pavilion Media Center m8400f. The Vista operating system has been replaced by Windows 7 (64 bit) a number of years.

I've updated one of my hard drives with a SanDisk SSD (it is now my main drive with the operating system and all my files on board).

The bios on the PC has never been updated.

The SanDisk SSD dashboard software will not recognize the SanDisk SSD as the system has designated the SSD as a SCSI device. I need to access the bios for this change to AHCI. The current bios does not support this.

The PC has a card mother MCP61PM-HM. There is no update for Windows 7 BIOS for that motherboard I know (updates Vista only).

SanDisk gave me a link to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=pv-82094-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&... that shows a card mother M2P61PM-HM for m8400f desktop PC. This Bios download supports Windows 7 (64 bit).

Can update the Bios to download safely a card mother M2P61PM-HM for card mother MCP61PM-HM I currently have?

    Hello

The HP BIOS update link provided SanDisk is an update of the BIOS of your PC. It is listed under Win Vista 64 bit driver downloads here.

If you look at the site to download the drivers for your PC you'll only see driver support for Win Vista but on 2010-04-08, Version 5.29, 1.47 M BIOS updatedshows support for Win 7.

But the problem is this: the BIOS updates must be performed using the PC operating system comes with; in your case, Win Vista. Extreme care must be exercised when updating the BIOS under normal circumstances. I would not classify your situation as usual.

I saw others download an update of the BIOS for their PC and try to install an operating system upgraded with disastrous effects. The PC was bricked.

Be prepared for the worst case if you try to install the update to the BIOS.

  • Pavilion Media Center m8430f Desktop video card replacement

For about a month now my desktop computer Pavilion Media Center m8430f is at the origin of the yellow spots, blue stripes and dots to arrive on the screen then the computer hangs. Moniter is a G185h Acer which I use from 2010 when the original monitor is released.  I also get yellow wavy lines then in safe mode.

So the thought is the video card went bad and needs replaced.  I picked up a Galaxy GeForce NVIDIA GT 610 to replace the NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT. Two questions - will be my Pavilion Media Center m8430fbe to handle this card? How could I go on install?  I checked the instructions to install a new video card, but none of them relates to my machine.

I thank you in advance for any help or insght, you can give in this case.

According to the specifications of your desktop PC and your new GalaxyTech video card, it should be a good fit and work without problems.

You connected a different view to make sure that was not the view South instead of the video card prior to purchase of the video card?

I will try to find a video for you on how to replace the map.  Fact!

The video I found must be adapted. Your original PCI Express X 16 video card not a probably not power connector 6 pin which is described in the video, or the connector on the fan.

The video author does not mention it, but for safety reasons, remove the power connector. Unplugging everything. Working with the PC as it does and use a table or a workbench with everything external to the offline desktop.

Memory: What is the best possible that my system can contain that currently, I am running windows 7 ultimate 32 bit

Can someone advice me please on these subjects, it will be very appreciated thanks everyone I'll be sure to rep and appreciate all help thanks.

Without replacing the power supply, the EVGA NVIDIA GT 240 1 GB GDDR5 should work. This card is spec'd for a PSU with 18 amps of bus + 12 volts. This card can stretch your PSU, but give it a try.  I have this card in my system of m9200t.  This card will give the treatment a real helping hand from your video.

Review the specifications of performance ATI and NVIDIA . Look at the specifications of strip memory bandwidth and level of DirectX support.

How to replace a video card.

Your PC will not work with memory dual channel and the processor will dictate the speed of transfer.  Wait for the upgrade of the processor until you see how the system works.

  • HP Pavilion Media Center m8160 Win7 upgrade?

Will be my HP Pavilion Media Center m8160, running 32-bit win7, run a 64-bit version of Win8? My flag has an E4400 clocked at 2 Mhz.? I've already upgraded the card wirelessly with a compatible W8.

    Hello:

The E4400 is a compatible processor 64-bit, your PC can run a 64-bit operating system.

    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/29753/Intel-Core2-Duo-processor-E4400-2m-cache-2_00-GHz-800-MHz-FSB?q=E4400

Whether or not you will find W8 drivers for other devices in your model, I couldn't say for sure 100% that of course it will run W8 very well.

A note... a 64-bit operating system uses more memory and disk space to run that operating system 32-bit, if you have less than 4 GB of memory in your PC, I would install more memory or install a 32-bit operating system.

  • HP pavilion media center a1610n pci slot?

Hello, I have a hp pavilion media center a1610n I bought 6 years ago and it still works great! However I just bought a new graphics card to update my computer a bit and the card company chart says my computer needs to have a location express pci 2.0
How can I tell if my computer is compatible with this graphics card and what type of pci slot I have? Help, please!

Here are the specifications of your HP Pavilion Media Center a1610n desktop and its card mother A8M2N-(NodusM3). According to specifications, your system was introduced on August 4, 2006 and has a slot PCIe x 16 for a graphics card. Based on this information, I guess he has a PCIe v1.1 location. This should be compatible with most cards PCIe v2.0, but will have problems with PCIe v2.1 and latest maps. Another element to consider is the power to your computer. Many, if not more, HP computers of consumers of this era came with 250 watts power supplies and the vast majority of the PCIe x 16 graphics card requires a minimum assessment of 300 watt or greater system.
