No support H.264 in HTML5 Firefox 49, Linux

Hi, my Firefox is not for decoding H.264, well that ffmpeg and other software compiled with support for it. According to https://www.youtube.com/html5 , there is no support H.264 and MSE & H.264. On pages with tag with type = "video/mp4" Firefox says html5 ' video format or the MIME type is not supported. Just about: support page it's line: "Supports Hardware Decoding H264 = No; Could not create decoder H264 "I recompiled Firefox with the option--enable-debug, and now I see the error" [6748] WARNING: cannot create a decoder, no platform not found. ': file var/tmp/portage/www-client/firefox-49.0/work/firefox-49.0/dom/media/platforms/PDMFactory.cpp, line 153. Video driver is the proprietary nvidia driver. I also ask this question in this thread (with the additional information associated with distrib) https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1054580.html. Help, please.

I found the cause of the problem, Plex Media Server. This package contains libavcodec.so.57 Firefox trying to bind against and fails to do so (whole system installed ffmpeg contains libavcodec.so.56).

  • When can we have "tabs in titlebar" in firefox for linux?

When can we have "tabs-in-title bar" in firefox for linux,
as Ubuntu 12.04. Or for that matter support an add-on
such a feature. I use firefox 13 currently in
    Ubuntu 12.04.

On Linux the Firefox button is on the tab bar and you usually visible through the installation of the OS title bar.

It is not possible to have the tab bar in the title bar on Linux or place other items on the title bar.

Only Firefox for Windows is this function, and only if the Firefox window is maximized, you can have the tab bar and the Firefox button in the title bar.

On Windows, the title bar is in the Firefox DOM (#titlebar), so it is possible to place other objects on the title bar.

Your Linux distro may have related packages for it.

Alternatively, you can use Chrome or chrome for that one site and use Firefox for everything else.

  • Download Firefox for Linux without Adblock and other extensions

I have a problem downloading of an adapted version of Firefox for Linux to run on a Knoppix Live DVD system, for use in the trial publishable extensions I developed under Windows. (This isn't a development question extension, however, just a problem downloading and the FF configuration properly).

I was surprised as the current (FF40) and anterior (FF34) version for Linux come with 3 extensions installed permanently - NoScript, Adblock Plus and FoxyProxy Standard. They apparently cannot be uninstalled, even if they can be disabled.

I read online in various forums that Adblock Plus is a hog memory and that she, in particular, as well as NoScript, may adversely affect the values with legitimate code on Web sites and extensions. I also read complaints from users who disable Adblock Plus does not remove all its effects.

During my tests I had problems that I thought were the result of Adblock Plus, so I turned off and restart the browser. The situation is greatly improved, but there are still some problems that may or may not be related to the shortage of memory.

The question is this: I want to download versions 'clean' FF for Linux without these extensions part 3 installed, for more conclusive tests, but have not found a way to do it.

I'm also curious as to why these extensions are 'forced' on Linux users. (I hope that never happens on Windows, or I could become a less committed user of the FF).

Firefox any version for Linux, Mac OSX and Windows www.mozilla.org or www.mozilla.org/firefox/all doesn't come with all Extensions.

You already had these extensions installed in Firefox profile, you use with Firefox.

All three of these Extensions are by a third author (s) and not by Mozilla.

  • How to adjust the print margins in Firefox on Linux 17?

How can I set print margins in Firefox on Linux 17? There is no margin setings in layout, or in the print dialog box. About: config, there are sets of settings called e.g. printer_Print_to_File.print_margin_top etc., but also the print.printer_Print_to_File.print_margin_top etc, but when I try to set these it seems they zero to 0.5 when I print something, and the print margins are always the same. In previous versions of Firefox, I managed to adjust the margins by typing about: config, but that changed in a recent version.

    Hello

I can confirm that I have the same problem on Firefox on Linux 17. Except that preferences do /not/ / giving to 0.5.

We could try to isolate the problem. If you have another printer to try, then you can try it and see if the margin settings also get ignored. (It may be just the PDF printer that ignores them).

On the other side, this PDF printer has worked for you before, please file a bug in Firefox. https://developer.Mozilla.org/en/docs/Bug_writing_guidelines

  • Console DRAC 5 and virtual media does not not from Firefox on Linux

    Nice day

I'm trying to access the console and features virtual media from a server of PE2950iii with a Drac 5 with the latest firmware 1.65 from a client Linux Mint running Firefox 27.

I had no chance whatsoever with the plugin and now try the java applet. Using the java applet I can successfully open a virtual console and see what is on the screen, however, it does not meet one of my shots (or macro keys in the menu).

Trying to run the java applet of virtual media is worse that that does not even start. I get the following error:

Can anyone tell me how to get these 2 items to work? Thank you!

Think I have this more often figured out. I just ripped the system and reconnect the 2 cables DRAC. Restarted and my keyboard works now! I should have been warned before my text was like a greenish color, but after reinstalling it is a typical white font as if I had a screen connected to the machine.

27 Firefox on Linux Mint 16 with Java 7, so I can launch the Java console and it seems to work fine. The virtual media still doesn't seem to work. I get an error at the launch of it. He started on my Windows 7 client however.

  • Is it possible, in all, to play < video > H.264 source in Firefox?

I'm a developer working on a site that makes heavy use of the video. Video playback and the site navigation controls run together, it is so important for me to be able to have full control over the videos, however, the videos must be hosted on Vimeo. Information on the Firefox for H.264 support are all over the map, but at this point, I just assumed that, for convenience, that Firefox does not support playback H.264. If I can't find a good solution, we'll just draw the line at Firefox and is not supported by the browser at all for this site. It would be nice to make the site work on Firefox, but we believe that less than 6% of our viewers will use the browser, it won't be difficult to just redirect them to a different browser. Y at - it a hack, no workarounds, nothing, what I can do to play the video in the H.264 format using just the good old standard tag?

Hello mattclough, due to patents and support for questions about licensing for h.264 is not directly integrated in the browser, instead firefox account of the capabilities of the operating system or hardware for playback of media content.
It works in windows vista/7/8, linux, android OS devices and firefox - for details, please refer to https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Supported_media_formats

  • Why do I see "your browser is not supported" on many sites with firefox 15?

Some sites, like trello.com and many others still said that I seem to use the old browser, or that my browser is not taken in charge and ask me to download Firefox 4 or more.
Is just irresponsible web developers, who put this sign for any browser except those in a list, and which then forget to update the list? Or is it a problem with FF itself?
There is no simple workaround solution without using UserAgent change plugins?

Hello Chertik89, maybe the firefox useragent (information that the browser sends to websites to identify) got crushed or damaged - please refer to the following article on how to reset: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/websites-say-firefox-outdated-or-incompatible#w_other-causes

  • HTML5 video: video freezes regularly while only audio continues to play. Firefox 12, Linux, Centos 5 up to date.

whenever I find a YouTube video on my linux (Centos 5.8, completely up to date) using Firefox12 machine, YouTube still offers for me html5 instead of Flash video. I click on the (I don't know how it's called) cursor to the current position and the video will move again. until he paused next time, anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes.
I don't know why he delivers html5 instead of flash, I get on my laptop using centos 6 and firefox12 flash video. Is there a way to configure Firefox to get flash instead? If this isn't the case, I would be grateful for help when the video component setting stopping.

  • Another vote for the restoration of rendered support H.264 and WMV

    Hello!

I like the new features that have been added to Adobe CC 2014.

However, to remove the ability to make H.264 (MP4) or WMV is essentially the program useless for me.

SOUL added to the workflow process is a huge waste of time.

If anything, I think that new versions of the software Add would support other rendering formats, not Remove them?

If you could add H.264 and WMV support, I would really appreciate it?

    Thank you.

See this for an explanation of this change and for the workflow to recommend:

  • Why Silverlight don't is not supported in future versions of Firefox Silverlight is a necessary component of the STAN does this mean Stan will not work in future versions

I read that Silverlight is not supported in Firefox 52 + Stan requires silverlight to function does this mean STAN will not work with Firefox 52 +.

    This one? https://www.Stan.com.au/

At some point, all THE plugins using the NPAPI interface are intended to stop working in Firefox. If all goes as planned, the Firefox 'support extended-release' (ESR) next spring will allow you to continue to use Silverlight for the rest of the year, while Stan has plenty of time to switch to alternatives. Or you can use Internet Explorer, if they are not.
