No way to win 8?

OK, I was stupid. I'll tell the whole story:

I recently bought a HP 255 G1 (laptop/Notebook computer?), with processor AMD E2-2000, 4 GB of DDR3 - 1600 RAM, 500 GB HDD and AMD Radeon 7340 M - and Windows 8 graphics card. I was surprised to win 8 ran so smooth after having heard so much bad about this, but there were parts of the OS, I didn't particularly like. So I wanted to try how Linux would run on the laptop, just to see if it was better.

I only tried to run Linux directly from USB stick, but something went wrong. I have no idea what, but when I tried to restart, he entered in some way or in repair mode and got stuck there for hours. I tried to get a clean Win 8 from the disc, but only everything that makes things worse: he went into a loop of error whenever I rebooted and I couldn't put any type of recovery menu more.

So I'm frustrated and agreed I would try to install Linux.

I had never heard of UEFI or Secure Boot before, so I basically just all formatted and installed basic OS. Of course, it does not work on UEFI, but I could run it in traditional way, although I would need to start it manually every time that I started. He also could not identify my Wi - Fi etc. So I tried Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, who of also decent, but was slow and was screen flicker issues and had no great support for touchpad. Now, I'm under Lubuntu 13.04, which is faster, but has so little problems, absolutely horrible audio preferences and the multiple problems with the touchpad.

I want to win 8 return. Even this horrible model - menu start. Is there a way to get the whole win 8 and all the HP software in a bundle? Like something I can download?

I want to visit Finland some time!

Okay, I don't know if this will help - could be "just the ticket"!

HP Expert Hüffer

It is a copy of Windows 8 OEM officially licensed and will also install Windows 8 Pro if your code is intended for this version. Download this file, burn it to a DVD, configure the computer to use the secure boot and uefi bios, boot from that disk and install Windows 8. It will record as an official copy and will never ask you a KeyCode.

Click on the star of congratulations !

It's a big 'thanks' for the HP Experts, who are there to help!

    Hi all

Series laptops Z Sattelite impossible to install OS (win 8.1) of our SCCM 2012 R2 environment.

No installation or pxe boot interrupted error is shown.
The environment is used in order to correctly install the operating system (win 8.1) on various other seller computers (dell) and the VMS (hyper-v and vmware).

I tried boot UEFI and CMS options and tried to turn off the secure boot. Please advice.

Also, I read on the 'package to install SCCM for Toshiba. This will help in my situation or it's just the driver for SCCM packages?

    Best regards, Evgeny.

I assume you mean on this package from Toshiba:
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/services/on-demand/business-computing/sdp120gs-v/

I put t have much experience using this drive package SCCM, but it is certainly compatible with professional Toshiba laptops. The Satellite / Portege Z930 belong to the range of the company, and I think that the package must be compatible.
This package seems to be for all administrators that manage devices on the network of business with SCCM 2012 R2. Toshiba offers with the new SCCM Toshiba package a solution to integrate other laptop to an existing IT infrastructure quickly and smoothly and all the Driver from Toshiba and application packages and a demonstration task sequence are integrated.

However, it seems that you could get more details about this package directly from Toshiba [email protected]

By the way: The Win 8.1 installation requires the UEFI mode (in which case the UEFI BIOS is available). But the start of another external source requires the secure boot disabled option.
Then maybe you should use the UEFI mode but must clear the safe boot option to boot from LAN.

  • NIC is not in the list of devices Win

    Hi all

I have a Pavillion Elite 9300 Z running Win 7 (64). It is now about 2 1/2 years. I only rarely use it now since I built a more recent/fast PC last year. When I turned on the Pavilion this morning, I discovered that my internet was not
work. He had been in the past & I have not changed anything.

Later, after having checked my connections, I found that my NETWORK card is not in the list of devices Win. At this point, I didn't know what to do. So, I tried to 'Add' a new feature, but way of Win 7 wouldn't let me add a device directly, rather it wanted to 'look' for the devices 'detectable '. After more than 15 minutes of searching without results, I abandoned it.

I decided to install a driver from HP site. Since this is a .exe file, I thought, it will probably work. But, he didn't, even after reboot, still no NETWORK card in Device Manager.

Can someone help me solve this problem?

Hi PieLam. If your NETWORK adapter is not displayed in Device Manager, it has very probably been disabled in the BIOS.
Here is a link showing how to enter the BIOS. Take a look at the screen shot under 'Advanced menu settings' and note the Onboard LAN option. If you have integrated NETWORK interface, then you need to set the "Enabled".

  • Shortcut icons disappear - Win 7 64 Pro

Recently, I installed Win 7 64 bit Pro on my PC with a new HARD drive that is partitioned C: for the system and programs and E: for data. HDD back, put in place in a similar way, has Win 7 64 bit Ultimate installed and did not have the problem described below.

On my desk, I have many shortcuts for programs that are installed on the C: Partition, in addition, five shortcuts that refer to the library of records related to E: Partition of data. I have confirmed that these five icons are addressing their E: locations. They are not broken links. They may well sit on the desktop, is not used for several days, but it only shortcuts to the icons of programs.

From time to time, these five specific icons disappear without apparent reason. Here today, gone tomorrow, kind of thing. No other icons are affected. I can't tie this action to a particular event, so I can't determine the cause.

Can someone please provide a fix for this annoying problem.

    Hi Nasho,

It seems to be a problem with missing or damaged system files, or due to the corruption of the user profiles. I would like to know some information about this problem so that we can help you further.

    1. do you get any error code or error message while starting?

2 are you facing this problem after the installation of any program/app?

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it works for you.

    Method 1:

Put the computer in a clean boot state, and check if the problem persists. This is to check if the problem is caused due to any third-party program or app.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, see the "How to reset the computer to start as usual after a clean boot troubleshooting" section in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

    Method 2:

Run the Analysis System File Checker and check if it helps. This analysis will help you find and replace missing or corrupted system files.

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833/en-us

    Method 3:

Create a new user account and verify. This is to check if the problem is caused due to the corruption of user profiles or not.

    Create a user account:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/create-user-account#create-user-account=Windows-7

If the problem does not persist in the new user account, then try the steps in the following article from Microsoft Help to fix the damaged user profile.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/fix-corrupted-user-profile#1TC=Windows-7

Please reply with the status of the issue so that we can better help you.

  • How can I transfer all the messages/conversations from my iphone to messages.app on my mac?

    Hi people,

    Maybe someone can help me:

How can I transfer the entire contents of my messages app on my iphone to the messages on my mac app?

the problem is, when I create in the messages app a new account with my appl ID (for example on a new mac) I also use with my iphone, so everything worked very well for the starting point of creation.

BUT... some older posts, I have on my iphone will appear in the new messages.app - account on my mac.

I have thousands of old messages and conversations, I now can only see on my phone or with some more or less useful third party apps. those who cannot vonert messages to a PDF file or som other format useful semi > but no one can transfer it in the messages app.

    • I learned that apple does not save my imessages for more than 72hours (which makes me happy because of the confidentiality of the data), so I can't take via imessages-servers.
    • I also learned that it is possible to transfer data from the library files to a previous account. but unfortunately, I've just accidentally deleted those files, so this solution won't help:
      • I had serious problems to enable the transfer of SMS on a second mac (I guess I failed it in between), I went in the ususal trial & error-process and disabled the account of messages on the mac.
      • After that, I deleted all caches using onyx. then I restarted the iphone and the macbook and restarted the messages app.
      • the app behave like the 'never used before': I entered my apple, app ID remind my cell phone number and all other settings from the old account, but THE MESSAGES WERE GONE alle.
      • I don't know I deleted the using onyx. but there should be a way to win back them?

    the system configuration:

    • Start "2011-17 - macbook pro with latest el capitan (10.11.6)"
    • iPhone 6 with latest iOS (9.3.5)

PLEASE Please HELP me - even if I use third-party software...

    Hello

    Can't do.

iMessages are pushed by the iMessages servers to devices recorded at this time there.

They are not held on servers and are deleted as soon as receiving devices accept.

(that is, it is not like electronic mail that can be left on the server (POP) or rest on the (IMAP) server to be retried by other devices that can identify you later).

How the files/iMessages are stored on the iPhone and the way the Mac stores are not the same.

It is possible to have the iPhone one store backup via iTunes on Mac.

From there on, it is possible to use third party applications to read (check out them and make them as text files), but they cannot be forced into Messages.

By copying and pasting entire conversations from one chat to another it's the Mac send s just like a long piece of text with few (not in use) formatting.

Can also have problems with actually duplicate the whole file with space on the iPhone in the first place.

I'm not aware in a direct way, but here's what I did for the other way - from Win Mail to the phone.

    • If you do not already have a Gmail account, create one (it's just a temporary tool for this process).
    • Configure the iphone for the gmail account and synchronize it. This should sync your contacts.
    • Since you google.com interface: export your contacts (unfortunately it only supports CSV format).
    • In Thunderbird, import your contacts

If you need help importing your contacts, I have step by step instructions I can give you.

I installed a second hard drive, but the system does not reqagnize it.  I connected the blue sata port.  Any help?

Well shit, now I have to retype my response... I typed in Notepad, but it seems that I can't copy and paste into this box.

I agree with DFBonnett, the second disc will only work on the BLACK, not BLUE light connector.

The way I Win-10 to see the second drive was to go to the management of the computer, and then under storage, click Disk Management: the drive is presented as a disc 1 but not show the program explores until I received a letter from the disk drive... MAGIC, the player will now display as the letter assigned to the I gave him 'E' with a backup label.

I tried what erico posted but has not worked, but I thank all of you who have tried to help.

Search for important documents and move it to the other folder that you can achieve by using the guest account

  • How to reconnect to the device plugged in USB after having ejected?

I have a 2 to USB external hard drive for occasional storage of large rarely used files. In order to keep the analysis daily antivirus come completely bogged down when it hits that drive (no new files recently added anyway), I have to use the option 'remove' for Windows XP is no more. But he was always physically connected and turned on. What is a good way to win again without a reboot?

    What anti-virus do you use?

I use MSE and you can uncheck a box so that only the c: drive is analyzed.

Most of the scanners I've used allow you to choose which leads to analyze.

In addition, in Device Manager, you can select the properties of your drive and choose optimize for fast moving, so you don't have to use the icon remove.

    I hope this helps.

  • Tell me how to get rid of my recovery partition

This large tablet is now unusable.

I created a partition recovery on a usb key. I'm not allowed to free up space?

This makes the Tablet another instance of a Tablet win8.1 unusable. Man, it's ridiculous. I need to release the 8 GB on the recovery partition.

Please, I want to know how to solve this problem. All, he is reading I've done on this topic seem to be impossible... If this is the case, is beyond infuriating. Don't treat me like a mac user who needs to be protected from myself.

There must be a way. Or I'll add is the last of my attempts to find a way to win 8.1 really usable in tablet form. I can't believe how difficult manufacturers have done this.

I should be able to pretty much what I want on the sd card stupid. If I remove the card, well that's on me. But space ting... Amplifier lack of thing of space... It is really unusable. Which is very disappointing. Please prove me wrong. I beg of you. I love this thing otherwise.

    Thank you

WildPetals, don't forget with Wimboot, Windows is lying to you. It seems that you don't quite get how Wimboot works, so I'll explain further.  (If you fall, in fact, how it works, I apologize for my hypothesis).

Windows in the reports of the Explorer that includes the Windows installation on the C: drive, we will say only 10 GB (it is around this amount and is a nice round number.)  BUT... it's a lie, all the files that you see on the C: drive are actually just tiny pointer files, pointing to compressed files in the file Windows Image to the recovery partition.  When you think you have access to any of these files on the C: drive, Windows is actually redirecting you living on the partition recovery of compressed files.  He unzips the files he needs them.  You might think that it is a matter of great performance, always the decompression of the files he needs them, but because Wimboot DOES work on computers with SSDS, which can REALLY quickly, read the files it does not really cause much of a drop in performance.

Because Windows is lying to you, it seems that a lot of disk space is being taken up by the recovery partition, and extra space is taken to the top by installing Windows on the C: drive.  When, in fact, all that space is being taken up by the recovery partition, and VERY LITTLE of real disk space is made upward by installing Windows on the C: drive.

When I first started my Stream 7 tablet, he almost 20 GB of free space on the SSD of 32 GB for the internal address.  This may seem like a lot of space that I can not use - but contrasts with a Windows tablet that does not use Wimboot, which has a recovery partition and a normal full of Windows Installer.  You will need only 5-8 GB free using this method.  Yes, you can delete the recovery partition, if it does not use Wimboot, but then if you have a problem and need to restore your tablet to stock, you have no way to do unless you have first saved the partition recovery - which is not so hard, but beyond the skill level of the majority of users of computers out there.

So, by using Wimboot, you have available disk space MUCH more in a tablet of Windows with a quite small SSD.  The important part to remember is: you use Windows since the Image compressed Windows on the recovery partition.  You can not remove it, and you do not want.

  • What support OTG?

Hello guys, hardcore fan of SONY here, but the kind of disappointed lately with the new range of phone. I was the happy owner of almost any smartphone from SONY to date, go to Sony Ericsson models. I am currently using a Xperia C4, have an experience very already and a classic, almost as happy with Xperia Z5. Be in mood of replacement for I was very attracted by the X first models (X, XA and X performance), mainly to the disadvantage of the size of the screen. Inevitably, I started to turn my attention to other brands for the first time. Fortunately, now I have the eventual successor of my excellent C4 and it's the Ultra XA, a great device, in which I can forgive some gaps due to the allowance mid range. The presentation of the XZ initially made me very happy cause design-wise is a beauty and the specifications are finally almost high, so it could be the replacement perfect for my Z5... but in this case, there are a lot of things I can't forgive., especially given the consistently high price tags...

Delay devices we have helped a progressive "de-SONYzation" of phones... interface closer and closer to stock (and say ok)... no screen recording (once again, ok... ish)... excellent calendar Xperia (not ok) endangered... Xperia keyboard in the process of disappearance (not ok at all!)... The mode endurance and battery performance deterioration (Grrrrr...)... Waterproof lack of functionality of jewels (... What?) .. .no FM radio on flagships (return)? .. .no small apps (AAAGGGRRRRRRRR... that the devil, who was one of the main, more smooth, chip and features most useful Sony phones, for me at least). Now I heard in one of the first reviews of the phone that even the support of the OTG is gone... If this continues, I think that the SONY company is really mobing its own branch of smartphone... which is already in a not so happy place. I don't think it's the best way to win new customers... or even to keep the old ones close...

Sorry about the explosion... In conclusion my question is... the XZ supports OTG function?

Thanks in advance for any response.

    Hello

    Thanks for your comments!

Xperia XZ supports the API in the same way as Z5 USB host. In XZ, there are native for the HID, USB mass storage, USB hub and Audio support. Impossible to use the same card-OTG however XZ uses USB Type-C.

Xperia XZ is also protected against water and dust to IP65/68.

There is no native application to save the screen as far as I know, but you can download apps for it since the game of Google. In the game of Google, you can also download our calendar: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sonymobile.calendar
