No window in the taskbar title

I am using Vista Home Premium 32-bit.

I have a problem with the taskbar, it shows no window/icon titles when I have programs open.

I tried the taskbar of resizing/repositioning and it does not help, I also chose to reset the start menu by default.

I have disabled any toolbars such as the Quick Launch bar, I installed SP1 and SP2.

I also checked the themes service is still running and I also get the same problem in safe mode.

However when I use a different user profile the problem will not occur. Does anyone know what setting could be the cause?

Hello mike_coreit,

I agree with Rey G. Santos.  If the user profile is corrupted, then there is no way of knowing how deep the corruption goes is.

In other words, there is a high probability that we'll run into other problems with the current profile.

If this happens again on the new profile, then we would know that there is something that we do which causes the profile to become corrupt.

Let us know.

Best regards

  • A button to the Firefox window in the taskbar instead of several

I want just one button in the taskbar of my computer for the Firefox window and not several, each window for each open tab. How can I do?

There is a setting for whatever inform Windows on each of the individual tabs or only the active tab in each separate window. Here's where you can check and adjust that:

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > tabs Panel

It's the last item: "show glimpses of tab in the Windows task bar. If this is checked, you get all THE tabs in all windows in the taskbar, and if it is unchecked, you get only the active tab in each window.

  • Close several windows in the taskbar?

I understand that you can get an overview of open windows on the taskbar and close a window from the taskbar. But, you can close several windows? For example, let's say I have 6 open IE browser windows. I hover over the IE icon on the taskbar and see the 5 windows in preview mode. Can I select and close 3 of them at the same time, or I have to do it one by one?

    Hi Jeff,

Yes, if you right-click on the icon in the taskbar, for example Internet Explorer, you will see an option "close all windows".  I think it'll do what you're asking here...

In addition, you can hide, or rather, but in the background by clicking on the "Show Desktop" box on the far right of your taskbar.

Please let me know if this helps or you need anything anyone else.

  • Windows 7 does not open the windows in the taskbar. The content seems to be displayed off the screen

Windows 7 does not open the windows in the taskbar. The content seems to be displayed off the screen. It started after the uninstall of Registry Mechanic and PC Tools, but this cannot be bound. IE 9 seems to be particularly affected. So do not display all of the windows that show on the taskbar.

Use the Windows logo key & left arrow several times for each windows application through their positions until they appear on the screen.

This problem is normally reported after someone used an external monitor as the applications try to open in the same position they had when they were last open - so if there was an external monitor last time now disconnected, they will try to open it in the middle of nowhere.

I know not, or the other tools that you mention, but if they are registry cleaners then they could also affect other parts of your system.

  • Use F'fox on Windows 7, when I have several windows open, why the relative location of these windows in the taskbar sometimes change?

In general, I have three windows open Firefox, each with several tabs. Firefox itself is pinned to the Windows taskbar. Some of the tabs are set to reload.

The behavior that I find strange is that the window that initially had the means of the taskbar sometimes migrating to the first position. This behavior can be controlled, or the less predicts?

    Thank you

    Hi Avocet,
I guess this change because it's the last window to load a new page or which has been highlighted. If this happens on one of the tabs autoload, that might explain it.

He did Flash a small box saying this, but it was fast and her husband has never seen what he said. After that I caught once, I unplugged one. Problem solved.

    Hi Jeff,

1 did you recent hardware or changes to the software of the system?

    2. is it that occur when you use any specific application?

    Step 1:

You can try to perform a cleanboot State and check if the problem occurs.

A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

You can read the following article to put the computer in a clean boot:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

After the troubleshooting steps, please refer to clean the boot link to put the computer to normal startup mode.

    Step 2:

You can also read the following article to download the Microsoft Safety Scanner and perform a full scan on your computer.

    Microsoft safety scanner

Note: When you perform the analysis, there are chances of losing the data that you can take a backup of important data before performing analysis.

  • How can I keep all applications, all the windows, above the taskbar

Using HD Tach by Simpli software in my netbook - falls behind the task bar and several other windows application also.

The only way to solve the problem was to use a resolution of 1024 x 768 or 1154 x 864 and increase police to 109% or more but the police is still too small

The netbook uses several functions scroll to top and bottom and left and right - some windows have them, some can be resized by dragging them, some can not be resized - HD Tach by Simpli software may not be resized by dragging on it.

There are commands to add to the registry in order to keep the windows above the bar of task or easier to manage?

I noticed that too Yes thank you good information.  Sometimes she's going is worse.

    I found 2 resolutions more - 1024 x 768 or 1154 x 864 - I used to look in the registry for regedit:

    Display1_EnableDynamicScaling change the value of '1 '.

    Display1_DownScalingSupported change the value of '1 '.

While using either 1024 x 768 or 1154 x 864, I used regedit to get to the registry and search for 'LogPixels' and change the numbers - the font size is larger - and holds no more things on the image using auto hide.  Three of these requests made worse to use with my netbook HP mini 210-2177nr 64 bit - is HD Tach and CCleaner and EMET 5.1

I can't find a good quality / 800 x 600 or 1024 x 600, but I can find a way for them to adapt at 1024 x 768 - after regedit - I started per, highlight, press the HKEY CURRENT USER and used find (ctrl + F) then find with LogPixels then get to HKEY CURRENT USER\Control Panel\Desktop - LogPixels - find my best fit - I started to... '60' (96) - right-click on LogPixels and click on edit - add "6 d" - next to him his (109) - this is the maximum I can go before he goes out at new size - whatever the HKEY CURRENT USER\Control Panel\Desktop value - LogPixels is - HKEY USERS\...\Control Panel\Desktop.  The LogPixels next time it will be the last one - CONFIG\Software\Fonts HKEY CURRENT - modified LogPixels value in... "6B" (107) you can change that to something bigger.

There are several LogPixels more between HKEY CURRENT USER - and - CONFIG CURRENT HKEY - some are linked in value yet some appear separated from each other in value - between these places HKEY. Then stop and start - then police is greater, and the more things fit to the screen. The police on the desktop and a few other places is smaller but more that it was first.

    HKEY CURRENT USER\Control Panel\Desktop - LogPixels - controls the size I needed.

Best number makes largest font size while keeping HD Tach above the taskbar

HKEY CURRENT CONFIG\Software\Font - LogPixels - controls the size of the logon screen - "Police and image' - as many more police is - make sure what my limit was 87 (135) or 99 (153) 9f (159) - my limit. I found a problem with 100 (256) its too large a gap - too many.

If I use 1154 x 864 HKEY CURRENT USER\Control Panel\Desktop - LogPixels will be... "87" (135), it perhaps gives me the best font size - most every thing is bigger - compared to 1024 x 768

    HKEY CURRENT CONFIG\Software\Fonts - LogPixels is therefore 87 (135) to 99 (153) also 9f (159)

For clarity, I used 'Clear Type'

  • How to separate related windows on the taskbar in Windows 7

    Hello

I've upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 and were able to customize the taskbar so that it works quite the same as Vista. However, I have trouble finding a way to change "windows" of being grouped as opposed to appearing in the order that I opened the. It is a soda of huge time for me because I open and close throughout the day and go back and forth between the last open and the last of them read a lot of docs. They were always at the end of the line, regardless of the type of file, and now I have to browse all the files to find them. It's only a matter of seconds, but it's a whole new way of working which is not necessary and is driving me crazy.

Can someone offer a guide on how to make this change to my task bar works the way that it used? PLEASE?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Top of docked Windows from the taskbar

    Hi MS community.

Had a problem with some dialogs and to demand opening under the taskbar anchored the top of the page, such that I can not access the buttons etc minimizing, close. See the photo below.

What is a windows problem or the question of the individual application - what happens on Windows 7, I use and now I found what happens on my new laptop Win 8.1?

Is this something that tweeking the registry can solve?

    Kind regards

    James

This isn't something that Microsoft can fix.  The programmer who built the program did not do a very good job.  They said the program to display the coordinates "0,0" (top of the far-left of the screen).  The programmer had to first check if the bar of tasks (or any other toolbar docked) was present and adapt its coordinates accordingly.

Contact the developer who has built the program and kindly ask to fix his app.

  • Why my disappear from Windows Explorer (the taskbar icon)?

Eve since I got my computer Windows 7, the lower left of the taskbar was (from left to right):

    (a) Start button

    (b) Internet Explorer icon

    (c) a folder icon that would launch the Windows Explorer (for me to see my hard drives, flash memory sticks, etc. and all of their contents)

Recently I did something - although I can't remember what - who has done away with (c) [(a) and (b) remain].

What can I do to recover (c)?

Yes, I went through several cycles of power-down/power-up and run antivirus s/w.

Start | All programs | Accessories. Right click on Windows Explorer and Pin to the taskbar.

  • Cannot select several windows in the taskbar.

In Windows XP, you may hold down the CTRL key and select multiple windows, then right-click on one of them and choose close, which would close all save time and clicks.

However, in Windows 7, you cannot select multiple windows at the same time using CTRL.

Is there a logical reason for it?

    Is there an alternative?

With the redesign of the taskbar, les ingenieurs engineers included a method to close all windows of a particular program.  There is however no more multiple-selection.  You can always do this by pressing Ctrl-Shift-Escape and then using Ctrl-click to select and close the windows of this list of programs.

However, there is no alternative to the taskbar.

For additional reading on technical and creative process that went into the design of the new taskbar, see the Engineering Windows 7 blog by the developers themselves, to http://blogs.msdn.com/e7.
