Norton toolbar shown 2013.2.2.7 as incompatible with Firefox 18.0.2

Auto Firefox updated to 18.0.2, after which the Norton version 2013.2.2.3 of the toolbar appears as inconsistent and disabled in Tools/Add-ons.

After posting the above problem, I tried to run Norton Live Update with closed Firefox and that solved the problem. Norton toolbar is now enabled and works.

  • I often trust my Norton Toolbar for sites, and it does not work with the new updates. Can I uninstall updates recent Mozilla up to what this module works with Mozilla, but I'm stuck? Thank you!

It's probably very easy to understand this and to uninstall the updates to date, but, well, I am slightly tech-illiterate! I use my Norton Toolbar a lot for the sites I visit frequently, and this no compatibility issue is the same reason I stick with Mozilla on Chrome, but now I can not even use my Norton with Mozilla information. Thank you.

  • Norton Identity Safe is incompatible with Firefox 5 How downgrade to an earlier version that is compatible?

I've recently switched to Firefox as my default browser (previously Microsoft Internet Explorer - which was not very reliable), I have also recently upgraded to Version 5.0.1 but now cannot run Norton Identity Safe (or the Norton Toolbar). If it's not really compatible, I want to go back to an earlier version of Firefox to allow me to run Norton Toolbar and Identity Safe.
I would like your advice please.
    Thank you
    John

See Norton for a fix. It seems that when they have updated their Firefox for 5 Firefox extensions, they not be providing for the possibility that a 5.0.1 release may be required.

The strange thing is that 5.0.1 was not even an update of ' for Windows & Linux. Other than the number, on these platforms 5.0 & 5.0.1 are exactly the same. Only users of Mac OSX has got the real update, that has been done to solve specific problems in Firefox caused by Apple in the new version of the OS 10.7 Lion last week, and an Apple update for 10.5 and 10.6 at the same time.

Only users who have downloaded a complete new installation of the package in the last week or two for Windows & Linux would have got Firefox 5.0.1 - and it's only because the Mozilla download servers run the same version number, it cannot provide 5.0.1 for Mac and 5.0 for Windows & Mac.

  • Norton Security no longer works with Firefox update, if I'm afraid to use it. I want safety navigation

According to my info in Firefox I have Firefox 15.0.1 & it is up-to-date.
I can no longer use Firefox with all my saved bookmarks and familiarity that Norton Security programs I got Comcast no longer work with Firefox. Whenever I use it, it says that my safety is compromised. I don't have any protection. Currently I use internet for purchases, that I count on privacy and security, so I now use Sarari, which I don't like at the well.

Using Firefox, I Googled, found the info that says everything I need to do is to upgrade my Norton with Live Update and then restart Firefox. Do it, but it doesn't help, still has the same lack of protection.

  • I had all my precious bookmarks and apps on the google toolbar and now with Firefox 5 I learn that the google toolbar is not compatible with firefox! Google is in the cloud. Have you cut us to the Cloud?

On my previous Firefox browser I mainly used applications on the google toolbar, not Yahoo, one that is not as good as the google toolbar. Now, the google toolbar disappeared and when I tried to download, he said that it is incompatible with Firefox 5. I noticed there are a number of queries on this subject, but no solution found. I'm sure you can give an update to allow us to recover our toolbar with all our info stored. Otherwise, I might have to use IE.

Many users have gotten the function of the Google toolbar again by installing the Add-on Compatibility Reporter. Google just needs to test the toolbar with Firefox 5 and change something in their code specifying the versions of Firefox with which it is compatible.

    Add on Compatibility Reporter: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/

  • Why Norton Toolbar will not work with Firefox 23.0.1?

Norton Toolbar 2013.4.1.2 is disabled and there is no option to turn it on. I've updated my Norton 360 with all latest updates. Norton site says that it has updated its software to be compatible with Firefox 23.

    Thank you in advance,
    Larrey

Finally solved my problem. I had to uninstall and reinstall Norton 360 and when I updated and rebooted I had the last Norton Toolbar, v2012.4.2.2

For some reason any before the re-setup of Norton 360 my Norton Toolbar would not be up to date to the latest version. V2012.4.1.2 Norton Toolbar is not compatible with Firefox v23.0.1

At least now I have my Norton Toolbar with Firefox.

  • Firefox will not open even for a split second, shows the page to update norton toolbar in this time and closes before I can even click on anything whatsoever

Firefox refuses to stay open for half a second. I deleted everything regarding Firefox on my computer, have run Norton Power erasers, am running a full system scan, and even tried to see if Norton was blocking it somehow. I don't know if it's some sort of error, processing, because the last time it worked he asked to update to firefox, and then he said that it was not compatible with the norton toolbar. After update, it crashes like this. I have re-installed many times off my internet, checked the Task Manager and nothing. I have no idea.

System: Windows 7 32 bit, running on an eMachines computer. Never had this problem before.

I actually ran it as administrator and it seemed to invite firefox finally to do whatever the heck he was doing. Thanks for the help!

  • How can I return to a version of Firefox that is compatible with the Norton Toolbar?

After that I have updated to the latest version of Firefox, the Norton toolbar is disabled. I would go back to a previous version that is compatible with the Norton toolbar. Can I do this?

For security reasons, it is preferable not to decline to 40 Firefox. I could refer you to this thread for a more in-depth review and suggestions: screwed up why Firefox NEW Norton Internet Security?
