Not able to re - import images into Lightroom CC

I use Lightroom CC.  I had a disk failure and had to move all my data on a new disc. Now it does not open these files, but when I try re - import it tells me that they are already in the library.  How can I get LR to re-recoginize the existing data?

Import (or re-import) the photos is not the way to do it. Not only it will not solve the problem, it could make the problem worse.

Instead, you point Lightroom at the new location of the photos. See these instructions (especially Figure 4 and associated text): Adobe Lightroom - find folders and files moved or missing

  • Not able to re - import images into Lightroom after upgrade Windows 10 system

A brief history: I've upgraded to Windows 10. The video driver kept crashing (I do not do a clean install, upgrade) and I decided to uninstall the driver and do a clean install of it. To do this, it was recommended that I have started in safe mode. I'm locked down because it asked for a password that I didn't because I used a PIN. A boat full of minor issues as well as the fact that he seemed to be in no way around the issue of safe mode password pushed me to reload the OS I did a new SDS. All right. I kept the same letters to my external storage drives. When I installed LR, I discovered that Windows has changed my drive 'K' to 'E '. I changed it back, but she is now TWO drive letters.

Fast forward to LR: I don't have records of my 'K' drive in my library.

At this point, I resigned to re-import files. Despite the 50 or more, I can do this. Well, that's weird: when I choose 'Import' thumbnails appear and then the 'DOUBLE SUSPECT"are of course are not checked! Clearly LR is telling me that these files are already in LR, but where? The files that I CAN import are ones I removed LR.

    ANY suggestions?

    Thank you!

Reimport the files will not fix the problem, it will most likely make the problem worse.

You need to find photos in your Lightroom library (instead of re-importation) module, and then include this file, they are, according to Lightroom.

    Steps to follow:

    1. Click on all photos
    2. Disable filters (Ctrl-L for Windows) or Cmd - L for Mac once or twice
    3. Sort photos (view-> sort-> filename)
    4. find one of these photos by file name scrolling upwards or downwards until you find the photo in alphabetical order
    5. Determine the folder is to right-click on the photo and then go to the folder in the library, which should highlight the folder on the left in the library panel (if all goes well, once you find the folder for a single photo, you should be able to find the records for all photos)

    Loril salvation,

Please make sure that you have read and write permissions on the folder where you are trying to import images into Lightroom.

Also try to change the location of import and then try

Make sure you update to Lightroom to the latest version 2015.6.1/6.6.1.

  • cannot import images into lightroom cc using Mac

everything I try to import images of the map, I get a message that says lightroom could not read image. The card reader works because I can import pictures from another app like iPhoto.

The most common problem for errors "failed to read", it's that your destination folder has WRITE permissions added.

In your LR import dialog box, verify that the destination folder is where you want it to be and correctly spelt.

Then, using the Finder, go to this folder and make sure that your username has both READ and WRITE access to this folder and its parent.

  • I use CF disks and Smart Media/xd 3 cameras when you import images into Lightroom. Get weird file extensions. Appreciate the advice.

At a recent wedding, I used 3 different cameras and 2 types of media cards. A type is a standard CF 2 GB and the other is a 2 GB Smart Media/xo.  They imported with file extensions such as 001 - 3.jpg, 002 - 4.jpg, some files are named correctly, 003, 006.  That this has something to do with the help of different cameras.  How prevent you getting the or - 1-2 after a number of digital file. I'm sure there's an easy answer and I do not have something good, but it drives me crazy.

There are already files with the name you are trying to write to the disk, so Lightroom trying to do the right thing to stop overwriting of files and adds a number to the file, so it has a different name.

Be more aware of your image sequence that import you will help prevent it.

  • Problem importing images into Lightroom 5.6

I use an iMac 10.9.5. I was the import of CR2 conversion to DNG files in Lightroom 5.6 without any problem.

Suddenly, files take an age to import and Lightroom crashes without loading all the files. I force the resignation of Lightroom and then my computer hangs and will not be closed. I will finish by holding the button on the back of the iMac. Then Lightroom does not. After several attempts I managed to leave Lighroom, but I still have the same problem when loading files. I tried to delete the file com.adobe.Lightroom5.plist in the folder Preferences, as suggested on this forum, but who has not cured the problem. I don't know if this is a problem, but I used a card reader Transcend multi for the first time this week instead of my usual player. Maybe, there was some kind of problem with compatibility, although it shouldn't have been. Now, however, I can't download my old player of card properly either.

    Any ideas?

It looks like a hardware problem... bad USB cable, bad card reader or camera damaged card or bad USB port.

  • Impossible to import images with lightroom 6 and el capitan?

Why can I import images into Lightroom 6 with El Capitan?

    What can I do?

Again, what is the file system (i.e. How is it formatted) used on the

external drive? Go to the Apple menu, select "about this Mac", click

"System report", in the report that you get, go to hardware and select

storage. Report what it says on your external drive to "File System" and

whether it's writable. It looks like your external may be formatted as

NTFS, which would make unwritable on a Mac. It should say "logged".

    "HFS +".

This message indicates that you have not permission in writing to the destination directory.

    So:

    1. Determine the destination directory... go in the Lightroom import dialog box and note the location of this directory specified on the right side under "Destination".
    2. Go to your operating system and change the permissions on this exact directory have WRITE permission.
  • Can I record a Photoshop6 dng file for import back into Lightroom 4

Can I save a Photoshop6 dng file for import back into Lightroom 4. I don't understand why this is not simple.

    Hello!

Format DNG aims to be a universal formats of files for files camera raw: http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/extend.displayTab2.html?promoid=DTEHA

You can save a DNG camera raw without problem.

Just to go the low left corner of the interface hand and select "save image".

    (as explained in the help files here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/creativesuite/cs/using/WS91C1E0BD-9600-42b2-8EBE-1E012ED61058. html #WSB0DC278F-B3DF - 4a 60 - 88BC - B3D6A852C242 )

Or you try to save a file edited in Photoshop as a DNG?

For what purpose, exactly? A TIFF, PSD or PSB file can have a raw file, saved as a smart object (to allow a subsequent reprocessing in Camera Raw) and all the pixels / editing of vector layers intact.

If recording maximize compatibility, it can be opened in Lightroom for cataloging and editing, if necessary.

    To reset the preferences:

If Photoshop is already open on your screen, close (Quit). Then press and hold Shift + Ctrl + Alt (Win) / command + shift + Option (Mac) on your keyboard and start Photoshop.

A dialog box appears asking if you want to delete the preferences file existing ("settings"). Click Yes in the dialog box. The existing preferences file will be discarded and a new one will be created.
