  I have a laptop HP Pavilion DV2278ea under Vista 32 bit, and have all the updates of the BONE apart from those announced in the past weeks. I recently updated the software for the integrated sound card Conexant High Definition for 08 August last version 4.36.7.60 C. Everything seemed fine until I came to do an audio capture of a stream on the internet using Roxio. Only one capture device listed was the microphone - it used to be the one who said Conexant Audio "what hear it" to capture anything the speakers. Review of the sounds in the control panel the only recording device is the microphone. Sound works very well in both internal and external speakers. I tried rolling back the drivers but its still the same. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

  OK, that had me crazy for the last few days, but I found the solution:

  Selections from the input Source to record Windows Vista for recording audio streaming, media players or anything you can hear coming through your speakers are hidden from view and people disabled by default. (I'm sorry - but why!?)   )

  If your audio card/system support recording streaming audio input Source selections such as: stereo mix, What U Hear, Wave Out Mix, vague or a similar selection, here what you need to do to activate for the record:

  Right click on your speaker icon in the system tray, (near the clock), select "recording devices".

  In the acoustic window that opens up, near the top, select the TAB "recording".

  Move your cursor where the devices are displayed.

  Right-click in the empty white box and select "show disabled devices".

  Support, new selections will appear such as: stereo mix, What U Hear, etc. Click right on "Stereo Mix", "What U Hear" or similar and select 'enable '.

  Right-click on the same new item and select "Set as default device". Click OK.

  Now in the Options of the recorder in the "Input Source" box, you should have the "Stereo Mix", "What U Hear" or similar source available to select for recording streaming, etc.

  (You can also activate other selections hidden such as Microphone, Line In, etc, if they are not already displayed).

I checked in the recording devices, see the disabled devices Show disconnected, but there is nothing except micro it (Realtek High Definition Audio).   Please provide the make and model of your PC. In addition, the record from the audio device or the stereo mix option is available if the sound card or audio device driver supports this option.

  You can check directly with the PC manufacturer to check if the PC audio device supports the registration of the aircraft.

  I am a member of a seniors computer club and they lent me the Toshiba P500 model PSPG8A computer so I can set up events for some meetings, this computer running Windows 7.

  One of the characteristics of the P500, I am to research is Audio "what you hear" or "Stereo Mix" as I will need to capture from the speakers.

  All I can find for recording is the built-in microphone, no line or other controls, I've never seen so little on a computer before.
  This computer has "what you hear" or "Stereo Mix", if so how do you access them?
  The audio cards are only Microphone and headphones.

  If the computer does not have these characteristics, if someone could suggest what external alternatives I have to allow this computer to record directly to the speakers.

  As I do not have a user manual, could you please indicate where I can download it from, have looked but can not find on the web.

  Could check you whether YouTube is to serve its HTML5 player or the player based on Flash? If you right click on the drive, short a context menu should appear.   At this point, there is essentially no option to "upgrade" from Windows XP.

  Changing any version newer than Vista Windows XP requires a clean install (Microsoft calls this a custom installation).

  Moreover, the only version of Windows that is available in the retail version is Windows 10 (end of the retail Windows 8.1 was September 1, 2015, so it can always available inventory).  There are OEM and editions "System Builder" of some 10 Pre-windows versions still available, but generally these editions - well that widely sold on the Internet - are not supposed to be used by "end users" on their own systems.

  In addition to the problem of getting the right software to install, you would have to worry about whether the material in your old computer will work with a newer version of Windows.  The first step would be to go on the web site of the manufacturer of your computer and see if there are drivers available for versions of Windows newer than XP.

  I suspect that the latest version of Windows for which your computer will have pilots is Windows 7.  If you decide to buy a copy of Windows 7, be very careful that you buy.  Counterfeits abound and several will appear to install without problems only to fail a Microsoft validation check several weeks or months later.
