• Firefox does not display the .swf files

  Everything worked quite well in Firefox and then all of a sudden it stopped simply to display .swf files. Where they should be is simply empty. On Web sites with a background, I can see the background through where the .swf file should be. This includes the locally saved files as well as all Web sites with a .swf file that is supposed to play.

  I don't want to suddenly quite literally, as it was in the middle of a browsing session. I changed nothing, just... one minute they worked very well, the next they completely arrested. It is clear that the program is to recognize that something is supposed to be there, like Adblock appears a little tab 'Block' on where the file should be, but again, this space is completely empty. He's not black, it is transparent.

  I completely uninstalled reinstalled from zero and 'upgrade' Shockwave it three times now, all without effect.

  I created a web page with Indesign, which includes some animation.

  When I export as SWF, it creates separate HTML and SWF files.

  I moved these two files, and any other files that I used to create the document to my hosting provider (Hostmonster). I read on other threads that I should probably have a RESOURCE file, I do not have.

  When I go to my home page, I get a gray screen that Hostmonster inform me is because HTML can't find the SWF file.

  index.HTML is looking for a swf file that is named Magazines1.swf. If the swf file that you are trying to load only is index.swf rename it to Magazines1.swf.

• Tween alpha works fine in preview, but not in the swf file

  I was wondering if anyone could offer some suggestions. I have a few words written in text mode static I made a graphic symbol. On the timeline, I used the motion tween and classic Tween to create change aplha from 0% to 100%.  I made sure that I have enoough to space on my calendar (10 images).

  Aplha interpolation works fine in preview, however when I export the swf file the aplha interpolation doesn't work anymore? I tried to break the text, flash of reboot, restart my computer and similar proposals for other items such as:

  I was able to fix this by checking the box 'use bitmap caching DURATION' in Blend in the properties panel for the MovieClip in question.

  I am currently using Flash CS5 on an imac. Would be grateful for any suggestions, that I do not understand how something that worked very well, has suddenly stopped working? Bug?

• HELP DREAMWEAVER CS4 NOT SHOWING THE SWF FILES

  I have a presentation in two days in Tokyo. And I'm panicking.

  I'm on am Intel Mac OS X 10.4.11.

  I have the latest version of Flash Player 10 installed. (Not the new beta version).

  A few years ago, I created a great site in Dreamweaver MX.

  I never had PROBLEMS with the .swf files display until using Dreamweaver CS4.

  I updated my photography portfolios in Adobe Bridge and used Dreamweaver CS4 for link updates.

  IT'S NOTHING MORE THAN THAT!

  Then, show NONE of the .swf files which were still visible.

  There is absolutely NO of Flash content now showing on any page of the site.

  Not even in view in Safari or Firefox browser.

  I downloaded the files with the SCRIPTS folder newly created on my server, and still no .swf file is visible.

  These aren't the FLV files that they are .swf files which were anchored properly and were still visible. So far.

  I have to go to Tokyo in two days and give a presentation of this site.

  What is the problem?

• Published .htm does not open the SWF file with the exception of the published folder

  Using Captivate 2: my stand-alone files work fine for all users, no matter where I place them on the network, but I just published as SWF with export HTM and the HTM opens only the skin and SWF files if I open it in the folder where it was published. If I copy the files (all three) to another location, the HTM opens empty. I do not see a path when I discover the HTM in Notepad, so I can't understand why the browser window is empty. Anyone have any ideas? I have attached the .htm code (I think).

  I should have waited a little more forward: the standard.js file must move with the other files, as it is called in the .htm. If I had published in a clean folder I would have saw that immediately. Sorry...

• Require external assets for my application project (assets not in the SWF file)

  I have an application that uses significant resources (XML - 'assets' files) which are lazy-loads (if necessary).

  I use several "OSMF support library projects and mapping, so I am familiar with these methods."

  My workflow will be MUCH easier if I can put my goods outside my application project (may be shared between many applications).

  I don't like if they reside in something like a library project, or if they are just on the file system.  I need, of course, to be able to export a release for a webserver (Apache).

  It's probably in the properties of the project somewhere, I just don't know where.

  Two approaches:

  1. create a folder says, c:\shared_assets. In all the projects that you want to use them, you could add c:\shared_assets on the source path through project-> Flex Build Path-> Source path properties.

  OR

  2. you can use the embed directive to embed any file and access its content:

• getURL works not when the swf is loaded into another swf

  Okay, I need help with something relatively simple which for some reason that I was not able to find information about everything?
  
  I hope that this will be something easy to correct.
  
  I basically the following:
  
  
  • my main movie "Home.swf".
    
  • another film "Sub.swf".
    
    I loaded "Sub.swf" in "Home.swf" via an empty movieclip.
    
    In "Sub.swf", I have some links that, when clicked call getURL and open an HTML page in the browser.
    
    But for some reason any the getURL does not work and I think its because the getURL is called from a movie loaded into "Home.swf".
    
    I tried to change the actionscript code for:
    
    _root.getURL('/MyPage.html');
    _parent.getURL('/MyPage.html');
    
    but neither (_root / _parent) seems to work?
    
    Need some help here please.

  It is not the getURL that's the problem. It's your _level0.imgMC.MC5 that is the problem.

  The document html itself contains text example and just the embedded SWF...
  (I put the text in the html page and tested to make sure it would display and it does)
  the problem is, it does not show the SWF at all from the server/live
  
  I tested it on locally and it worked quite well when I the direct test, it does not show the SWF at all, which leaves me just with sample text and a crappy grey screen.
  
  I've done this before and had absolutely no problem (I have a very similar to www.providencecommercialfunding.com site that has been set up exactly the same way). Is we worked very well and still...
  
  Yet, for some reason any on the site 499fico.com, the SWF is just appearing not living...

  finished fixing my problem... It WAS a problem on the server, not a script problem

  for some reason, that the directory on the side of my hosts had no a "Scripts" folder in the main directory and the script had this folder in the path, (just as it does on the local folder).

  just as I was hoping, a moment "duh"...

  I hope that this can at least help someone else with the same problem...

• Can't get the swf is displayed in the browser...

  I'm so frustrated... I can't get a simple swf is displayed in when downloaded. It is a simple .swf file in an index page. It appears fine when I test locally, but when I download I get nothing. I checked all the links and files are in the same directory, so no links is broken. In Dreamweaver, I see all the files sitting up there on the server. I write link and code to see if anything jumps that I forget everything. Also when I test the same index with just the text there page it downloads and displays correctly but will not recognize the swf file.

• Still trying to get the SWF to run in Release Build

  The code below works fine in development mode in Flash Builder 4, but does not load the SWF file in the Release version.  I simplified it is here bare essentials: window pop up that allows you to load a SWF (made in Captivate 4).  Any suggestions are appreciated because this small problem is a very big project.

• Cannot download plug in for windows media player. Have used the site to download and it says it worked, but the plug-in does not appear on my list of plug-ins.

Had a window that requires repair or change. Tried to fix it and then change. Need better guidance on how to finish download.   If you get the screen to change/repair, it means that the Setup program has detected that you have already installed the plugin.

  Do you not see the file here:

• Windows Homer Server Media Center not showing the new files I downloaded

  So I installed WHS2011 and thought that the library would easily work. It seems that the new files I put on the server are not get updated when I try and view them through the Media Center. Also when I serach for libraries on another device, it shows me two homeservers, one who say no files present and the other who has files (but does not update the index!). What is going on? (the file types are the same as the other files that are appearing fine)

  It is a basic installation, the only change I made is to move the directory to a new hard drive and update the WHS settings to point to the serverfolder updated on the new hard drive.

  I checked the settings on the media section of sharing control panel and it's on, I also checked on the dashboard and the media of Stentor is enabled.
