  It is possible that you redefined the site incorrectly and put the files to the wrong address on the server. Carefully check both your local and remote sites definitions.

  I am the admin of Windows for a University Department and install PC with Firefox all the time. This problem does not occur with every PC I would maintain, only a selection bit (model different laptops with Windows and update 1 8.1.) In all cases so far, I have install Windows from a registered image that was created by using sysprep.

  I tried many suggestions to reset Firefox, removing the profile of Firefox users, removing the Windows profile users, uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox, uninstall/reinstall of Firefox and the latest Java, but nothing helped. After uninstalling, I run an application to delete the caches and temporary files and even remove manually the keys to register HKLM\SOFTWARE\Mozilla and HKCU\SOFTWARE\Mozilla. I restart and make sure that the installation folder is deleted after uninstalling.

  Results are the same: after installing Firefox 31, the initial settings for migration, IE or Chrome pop up and after having clicked on the button finish, Firefox starts but does not display the home page of the new user, only a blank page. By clicking on the Options (3 bars) button does nothing. Right click in the appropriate box, the shortcut menu appears, so I can choose to customize, but which opens another tab with subject: Customize the URL and the page is blank.   If Safe Mode is good, the more likely culprits are one of your extensions or incompatibility of the graphics driver. To work around the second question, you can disable use of the hardware acceleration Firefox to see if that helps.

  I just upgraded all my Macs and minis to Sierra 10.12 and have run on something that looks like buggy.

  My usual use of a Mini special is transcoding many video files, and I have a collection of (painfully tedious) shell scripts that manipulate file names, do the transcoding and moves the files to one directory to another to make this work. In * most * folders that I see in the Finder when a file is moved to the directory it shows in the Finder correspondent discovered, but in * some * of them, the Finder does not update when a new file is moved to the underlying directory, is renamed or deleted entirely.  For example, I see there are 28 video files to be converted into a directory named FLOOR TRANSCODE using ls - ls in the terminal, but only 6 looking at the same folder in the Finder.

  These scripts have been working for several years on this material under El Capitan and Yosemite.

  Records I've noticed so far are all in the root of the drive HD server, not under no/Users. Finder appears to display all files when displaying the files moved to USB external drives for storage after transcoding. Another element that might be relevant, is that my normal view of the mac is via RDP (Remote Desktop "headless", no physical monitor in use).

  Have you noticed something similar?

  I asked this question in a non-support ticket so I want to give more details here. I tried to uninstall Adobe reader and reinstall and it did not help. It worked before with all the exact same addins I had before. I called the Bank and asked if they had any problems and they say no. I can go to the Firefox PDF display for this file and click Download the PDF file, then double-click it in Windows Explorer and Adobe reader appears and displays the file very well. Don't mind what to do at the moment. What happens is the Bank to load the file then Adobe reader opens with a white screen and a small circle going round and round, like a video trying to play, and it is just there for always. I never see the content of the file. In any case I hope that your have a good of a day as I am and I know that it improves. Thanks Firefox programmers for such a wonderful program.

  Update: while I was writing this I thought to go in Firefox options, then Applications, and wouldn't you know, a PDF document has been set to "Preview in Firefox. I changed that to Adobe reader and now it works fine. Suppose that there is something wrong with the code in Firefox. So I'm happy now. Hope this helps someone.

  Yes, the built-in PDF Viewer is a work in progress. Glad you found a workaround, or go to your favorite configuration, depending on how you look.

If I insert a button in Flash, text or other files, when I hit the button "play" instead of flash holder disappears and the Flash file never shows.   Images are not displayed. It works if I start in safe mode, but I don't know what extensions or plug-ins is causing the problem. Tried to uninstall and reinstall, but all the same plugins and extensions are always there. I can't remove the extensions or plugins.

  Have you tried disabling hardware acceleration?

  • Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.

  You will need to close and restart Firefox after enabling/disabling this setting.

  I get paperless credit card statements and I always print a summary of one page of the statement. I access my credit account and select view/print statement. It appears in PDF format, but Firefox shows just a blank page. There is no error dialog box. If I followed the same procedure using Internet Explorer, it works very well. This happens with my Visa and Discover cards. My current version of Firefox is 28.0. The operating system is XP and this is the current version with all updates installed. Sites secured for two credit cards work fine. I can view my statements OK, but cannot view the printable version of the statements. Why do IE, but not Firefox?
