  I use firefox 34.0.5, my thunderbird is 31.3.0 and I am trying to install the lightning calendar. I checked the compatibility list. I downloaded the correct version of the lightning, and whenever I try to install any version it fails and gives me errors that this version is not compatible with firefox 34.0.5. I tried five different versions of lightning with the same results.

  Are you actually trying to install in Firefox on purpose when it'll never work, or you try to get this installed Thunderbird in?

  For Thunderbird, you need right click and save this drive extension and then install it in Thunderbird.
