Not hot keys MENU for T60 new install of Windows 7 (32 bit)

I saw a thread earlier about this and he had to do with a T61. I think as his associates? I have a T61 with windows 7 (pre-installed Lenovo) and the works of the OSD.

I had my old T60 which had XP and I upgraded to the new installation of windows 7 (32-bit), I installed all updates recommended system and has gone to the lenovo Web site to get the shortcut keys OSD works so my volume keys can be displayed on the screen.

And I press the button and nothing. I installed the latest version and previous versions (after unistalling, etc.) and still nothing.

Anyone has an idea about that Lenovo must surely know about it? also must be people who does the same thing as me?

  • What partition for any new installation of Windows 7 64-bit should be used?

I did a full install of Windows 7 64 bit on a laptop computer that is already running Windows XP MCE 2005 32-bit. I didn't know which partition to install the OS on. There were 2 choice: had the majority of hard disk space, the other had a small amount of space (I think it was only a few GB) and next to him, said 'OEM reserved. I didn't know about 20 GB of free space, so I chose the partion with most of hard disk space.

What is the right thing to do?

If it's not then should I install Windows 7 on the other smaller partion again or should I delete this partition?

I appreciate any assistance in this matter.

There are several scenarios where an untrained user this doubt. If there a 8 GB oem partition (wtf for kind of crapware they installed in some systems, ask yourself... ;-)) and a XP/Vista system 100 GB partition C and a 40GB partition and then he might be tempted to choose the 40 GB partition because that has the most available space if, for example, the 100 GB drive is full of movies or other stuff.) So it's a matter of good and valid. I don't know if the system would be able to dual boot automatically if install you on a 40 GB partition in this case, have not yet tried. You know, Andre? I suppose so, but do not know about you.

Oh, and in any case: you have made the right choice. Since now your old OEM recovery partition is still intact, should, for some reason, want to return to your original operating system in the future (incompatibility of system or other (little likely, but ok...)) then you can. Although there are some reported problems with whom, since you may not be able to get into the medium in the usual OEM recovery partition anymore. For example, HP has for many models, a patch recovery partition available that you can apply after installing windows 7. This can often be useful, because it might be necessary at some point in time for you to enter the OEM recovery partition, since usually they do not only install the Sysprep image and crapware there, but often also possible diagnostic software for their particular type of material you might need when the system does not start because of a hardware failure.
So, check if you can always insert the partition or if your OEM has an update is available for this, if necessary.
    Fun with 7!

  • 420 HP 2000 ca: driver problems and hotkey on a new install of windows 7 on a HP 2000 420 ca

Hello, new here, long story short:

LAPTOP MODEL IS: HP 2000 420AC

1 REINSTALLED A BRAND NEW HOME FOR WINDOWS 7 64 BIT.

    2. DOWNLOADED/INSTALLED ALL THE DRIVERS ON THE SITE OF HP FOR THIS MODEL.

    3. THE DRIVERS WIFI/wireless connection would NOT MOVE, I GET a MESSAGE READING "802.11.a/b/g/n wireless device not found adapter. The device may not be present or could have been ejected/disconnected from the system. Abandonment of the installation, please insert the card and try Setup again."

The wireless card was not removed from the system, in fact, the laptop was never even opened.

    4. THE SHORTCUT KEYS DO NOT WORK TO TURN ON WITHOUT WIRELESS/WIFI, OR VOLUME CONTROLS, SCREEN BRIGHTNESS OR... THERE SEEMS TO HAVE NOTHING TO DOWNLOAD/INSTALL IN THE LIST FOR THOSE NOT MORE, A LACK OF FUNDAMENTAL TO THE SYSTEM. WITHOUT IT, NO WIRELESS (ETC.), PERIOD. THIS ISN'T LOOKING GOOD SO FAR.

5 TIPS IN THE SITE WEB/FORUMS TO INSTALL "HP WIRELESS ASSISTANT" IN THE LIST OF AVAILABLE/SUPPORTED DRIVERS, BUT IT DIDN'T THERE HAS NO "HP WIRELESS ASSISTANT" IN THE LIST TO DOWNLOAD. AND TO DOWNLOAD IT DIRECTLY TO THE PAGE OF THE WIZARD ITSELF YOU MUST HAVE THE COMPUTER OPERATED BY CONNECTED DIRECTLY ONLINE TO INSTALL, YET THE COMPUTER ITSELF CANNOT CONNECT ONLINE IN THE FIRST PLACE, WHICH IS A MAJOR CONTRADICTION AND IRONY IF YOU ASK ME... «TO CONNECT ONLINE TO REPAIR US DIRECTLY SO THAT YOUR COMPUTER CAN APPLY ONLINE...» ». HUH?

QUESTION: SOMEONE HAS A FOOLPROOF METHOD, THEY KNOW OF A WIRELESS ON A NEW INSTALL OF WINDOWS 7 ON THIS MODEL/S?

MAYBE THE SITES THAT HAVE BETTER BACKUPS FIX HOTKEY DRIVERS AND WIRELESS AS THE HP SITE ITSELF?

    THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.

    RUSSELL.

    Hi, Russell:

He has a Ralink WiFi card you find the parts list for your laptop.

So, this is the driver you need for this card...

This package contains the installation package driver for Ralink Wireless LAN to laptop models controllers that are running a supported operating system.

    File name: sp56942.exe

HP wireless assistant software is not applicable to your model.  Your model uses the most recent software HP connection manager, which you may need to install in order to activate the wireless card so that the drivers can be installed.

This package provides the connection manager HP for the notebook models and operating systems.

    File name: sp54630.exe

The driver hotkey, you need is this one...

This package contains the Quick Launch software HP, which allows the special function keys on the laptop to program models. For example, the software of HP Quick Launch allows users to press the Fn + ESC keys to view system information. This software works with supported operating systems.

    File name: sp56929.exe

So that the brightness keys work, you must install the graphics driver first.

This package provides the AMD graphics driver high definition (HD) and Catalyst Control Center for models of laptop computers that are running an operating system supported. For laptops equipped with switchable graphics modes, this package contains the drivers for the two graphics (GPU). Switchable graphics allow users to switch between a graphical power mode (normally used under the power of the battery) and a mode of graphics performance. If the video output high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

    File name: sp54988.exe

  • ThrustMaster Top Gun Fox 2 Pro do not install under Windows 7 64-bit

I have a Thrustmaster Top Gun Fox 2 Pro and it will not install in Windows 7 64 bit, Windows reports it cannot find a driver.  The manufacturer says not all newer than Windows XP drivers.

    I thought about it:

    1. Download ftp://ftp.thrustmaster.com/accessories/pc/hotas/exe/HOTASCOUGAR/2007_HCO_VISTA_64_RC1.exe (Vista for their Cougar Joystick driver)
    2. Make a click on the file and choose Run as Vista Sp2 compat mode and run as admin.
    3. Run the installation program and the joystick connection when you are invited (and installed).
    4. End task on the Setup (it is always waiting for the cougar to be plugged).
    5. Enjoy!

I get an error "this application can run on your pc" message when I try to download flash player for my new Surface running Windows RT.

If you have downloaded Flash player from the Adobe Web site, you will have the version that is compatible with the x 86 / x 64(Win 7, Win8 Pro etc) which does not work on your Windows RT Surface. This is because Windows RT running on ARM processors, and programs written for x 86 / x 64 cannot run on RT.

I tried to download the disc image of Windows (on another computer), but I was told that since it was preinstalled by HP, I can't.

Can you PLEASE tell me how I can download a new copy of Windows 7, 64-bit?

    Hello:

I don't see that HP has recovery for your PC disks more.

You can always get a game from this provider no HP.

  • Satellite L500-128 - new installation of Windows 7 64 bit

Hello guys. I want to do a few questions

I have windows vista in my laptop and I want to do a clean install with windows 7 64 bit. I noticed the drivers are ok in the site. So here's my questions

    (a) do I have to remove the hidden restore partition or not? (configuration eisa if I remember correct)

    (b) I got 4 dvds with the toshiba recovery disk creator. If I erase each partition in the laptop how to restore my DVD? With a program in Windows or just setting the bios to boot from DVD, then the procedure is automatic? What's the first bootable dvd?

Thanks in advance and sorry for my English

    Hello

one) of course, you can remove this hidden WinRE partition. If you have installed a new/other OS, this partition is useless.

    (b) you on the right. To restore the Toshiba Recovery disk factory settings you must boot from the disks. The first disc is bootable and you can boot from the installation. This happens automatically, only a few clicks are needed to confirm the installation and to create user accounts, etc.. Pretty easy and all the drivers and tools are installed too! :)

  • (64-bit capable) 32 bit Vista Home Premium... I can do a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit professional?

(64-bit capable) 32 bit Vista Home Premium... I can do a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit professional?... from a flash drive?... to change the boot order?... or at all?

    Hello

That's right; with Vista Home Premiun upgrade paths are for Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate.

It is one of the reasons why you should do a clean install.

The other reason is that you can NOT put 32-bit to 64-bit.

You need a clean install to do.

Follow these steps before you install or buy Windows 7:

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

Can we install windows vista 32 bit OS on a computer that is pre installed with windows 7 64-bit OS?

@ Ken... I tried installinng windows vista by using the recovery disk that will get a customer with the computer dell laptop... and then he was trying to install vista on my computer... It works fine when installing files, but it is and stucks where he says 'finish installation' and he won't do anything after that... I tried to restart my computer and I could see Microsoft coportation logo and then my computer stucks to this screen and wont connect in... not sure what exactly to do... by the ways for your reply thanks

You cannot use recovery discs to install with, if not for the exact model computer that you install.  You need a full installation detail of the model of Vista operating system you want to install since you don't downgrade your operating system to a system that offers no right of demotion.
  • Try to get a USB cable to installed on Windows 7 (64 bit) series.

I try to get a USB cable to installed on Windows 7 (64 bit) series. Radio Shack model: 26-949. The cable works fine in XP. I tried Radio Shack, FTDI drivers prolific, but to no avail. When I try to load the drivers, it does not recognize the device. When I plug in the device, instead of motorhomes up as a COM port, it appears as "another device-USB-Serial Controller." I completely restored Windows (re-formatted hard drive, reinstalled Windows), but none of the drivers I found works with Windows 7 (64-bit).

    Hi BUBBA211,

Thank you for using Microsoft Windows forum.

Check if your USB device is compatible in the Windows 7 Compatibility Center : http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

Doesn't seem to be compatible with Windows 7 64-bit edition.

Contact the manufacturer because they are the best people to answer your question.

In the meantime, run your USB device compatibility mode.

Follow the steps from the link to the older in this version of Windows programs : http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows
