  • «.. . not a Photoshop document valid"error opening file cc Mac on PC

    I get an error "Could not complete your request because it is not a Photoshop document valid." message every time I try to open a PSD file created on a Mac using Photoshop on my PC using CC CC. Other people have been able to open the file in the same place, so that the files are not corrupt. Someone knows how to fix this?

    I know this thread is a bit old, but I wanted to share my experience and solution in case anyone else runs into this.

    The other day, I spent many hours editing the photos for a client. I saved all and closed from Photoshop. When I tried to open the. PSD, they came all this "Not a valid Photoshop document" error. I capotais. I saw the thunmbnails and previews with the Mac OS Finder and could see the images in Lightroom, but couldn't open them in Photoshop CC.

    Finally, I remembered that they were NOT supposed to be .psd files! They were supposed to be the TIFFs. What happened was, when I edited coming in Lightroom in Photoshop, they opened as TIFF. However, when I did ' save under ', I wanted to name them in the same way to other files that I had. I clicked on one of the existing files to copy the name of the file in the Save dialog box as to make it easier to name the new file that I kept, but I didn't know it was change the name extension ".tif" to ".psd" file as well. The older MacOS (version 9 or earlier) do not rely on file extensions fo identification file types, so it didn't hit me right away this would be the problem. When I changed the extension of bad .psd file in .tiff, open files in Photoshop very well.

    Then... If you encounter this not "a valid Photoshop document" error, try to find out if it is actually another type of file (.jpg, .tif, .png, etc.) by getting the information from another file program or just experiment with different file extensions. Chances are good that your file is not actually corrupt, but just named incorrectly!

  • PC will not open .jpg to MAC when you export from Lightroom

    When I export a photo from lightroom on my Mac on my external hardrive, they are very good. I can then open it with mac, etc. When I plug in my external hardrive to my PC and open the pictures, some of them only are visible. It looks like 2 different collections of photos. One is. _IMG_xxxx.jpg and the other is_IMG_xxxx.jpg. the. _IMG_xxxx.jpg will open on pc. When I check the properties of the photos that some are newer once I exported from lightroom and some of them are those of an earlier date, and yet I exported just as the exact photo on MAC, Hung my outside up to PC and checked. Did I miss something in my export options? I can export or "save for web" in photoshop (as a jpg file) and have no problems with opening the photos on a PC. Why is lightroom sends me in trouble? Thank you!

    FAT32 should work OK for this purpose I was just curious to know if it was something different.

    I think that what happens is that Lightroom is not correctly check if the image already exists in the folder. Remove the images from your PC or your Mac after you transfer? You might want to try to do only for the Mac (which will remove the dot files too). You can also reset warnings dialogs in Lightroom, which is done in the preferences-> general section.

  • Replacement of Firefox 3.6.16 containing my history, bookmarks etc to version 4.0, I find that it does not open on my Mac Power PC G4 OS 10.4.11. It's a compatibility problem, and how to retrieve version 3.6 with my favorites etc.

    Replacement of Firefox 3.6.16 containing my history, bookmarks etc to version 4.0, I find that it does not open on my Mac Power PC G4 OS 10.4.11. Is there is a compatibility issue and how to retrieve version 3.6 with my favorites etc.

    Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third part of Firefox 4 version that works under OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details, see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox

    If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

    When you install one of the above it will use your existing bookmarks, etc.

  • Cannot open JPG files in photoshop, error "could not complete your request because the file is not found.

    Cannot open JPG files in photoshop
    Has anyone ran into this problem? Photoshop worked perfectly in the past and the other day I noticed that I can't open all the jpg files in Photoshop (tried all the usual ways to circumvent the opening problem), I get the error message: "Could not complete your request because the file was not found." I know that JPGs are fine, as they open in other applications. My work-around for the moment, is to open in preview mode before and export as a PDF file, then open the PDF file in photoshop, however, this is not ideal.
    Someone at - it in the case, or have a fix
    Any help much appreciated

    Hi Dan,.

    Please install camera Raw from following link: Camera Raw of Adobe Photoshop CC and CS6 Installer

    Once done, open file Jpeg, you shouldn't get the error more.

    Let me know if it helps.

  • onClick event work not when you try to open an image in Photoshop CC2015 extension Panel

    Hello

    I am writing an extension for CC2015 which opens a panel containing the tab page layouts and a few buttons.

    I want the buttons to perform a function onClick that opens a PNG file in Photoshop, but I can't seem to get this function to work as expected.

    The main parts of my index.html for the extension that defines one of the buttons is:

    < button class = "CLASS BUTTON" id = "ID of the BUTTON" role = "BUTTON" > BUTTON NAME < / button >

    I then added a function to the event listener for the button (see below) who works on the search for the name of the id of the button:

    < script type = "text/javascript" >

    document.getElementById('BUTTON_ID').addEventListener ("click", onClickButton, false);

    function onClickButton()

    {

    var imageFile = new File("C:/FOLDER/FILENAME.png");

    docRef = app.open (imageFile);

    }

    < /script >

    This piece of Javascript above falls in this part here:

    {

    imageFile var = new File ("FILENAME.png");

    docRef = app.open (imageFile);

    }

    For some reason any image does not open the button click on with the bit above the script, but if I run this code snippet in isolation by running the following in the ESTK the PNG file opens perfectly fine in Photoshop

    #target photoshop

    imageFile var = new File ("FILENAME.png");

    docRef = app.open (imageFile);

    I tested the event listener and the onClick and everything seems to be fine here because if I replace the part app.open of the script with a simple alert illustrated under the button returns a new window with the current alert text:

    < script type = "text/javascript" >

    document.getElementById('BUTTON_ID').addEventListener ("click", onClickButton, false);

    function onClickButton()

    {

    Alert ("you pressed me");

    }

    < /script >

    If anyone has information as to where I have gone wrong here it would be great that I don't immediately see the wood for the trees.

    Thank you.

    Hi Chris,

    you mix JSX and JS, and it won't work.

    The Virtual Machine that interprets JS is the Google V8 engine, belonging to the CEF (integrated framework chrome - the HTML group container).

    The Virtual Machine that interprets JSX (Extendscript) belongs to Photoshop.

    If you say that the V8 "app.open (imageFile)" he has simply not understand.

    JSX code should belong to the JSX file, like:

    function openImage(imageName){
        app.open(new File(imageName));
    }

    and in the JS, you need to:

    function onClickButton() {
      var csInterface = new CSInterface();
      csInterface.evalScript("openImage('C:/FOLDER/FILENAME.png')", function(res) { console.log(res); }
    }

    I hope this helps.

  • Lightroom "change in...» Photoshop CC"not conversion .tiff images, but opening the .dng in Photoshop instead. How can I fix it?

    It worked 5 minutes ago, and then without changing a setting, it has stopped working.

    Make adjustments in the latest Lightroom. GoTo picture/modify in Photoshop CC 2015. Up to 5 minutes or so ago, it would create a .tiff file that would open in Photoshop CC 2015.

    Now it opens just the .dng, glancing at the Lightroom settings, it is set for .tiff. The only other option is .psd. Switching to still open the DNG in Photoshop. Someone has an idea what is the cause?

    I opened a photo, it worked as it should. The next photo, .dng. Even the photo that previously opened as a .tiff now opens as a .dng.

    Not sure if this is a problem of Lightroom or Photoshop problem.

    Hello

    It's the normal procedure, a RAW file is processed by ACR in Photoshop when it is opened from Lightroom and the image in Photoshop window will display the name of the original file. See this image:

    After having edited and adjust the image in Photoshop and select Save image when you close the file will be saved to Lightroom in color space and file format you chose in your Lightroom preferences.

    This isn't a problem, it's normal LR-> Photoshop treatment, it would be open only in the file format selected, that is to say TIFF or PSD, if Photoshop had a different version of ACR (less) than Lightroom and Lightroom would make the file before opening in PS.

  • By pressing 'o' in review mini bridge mode is not opening the file in Photoshop

    New user of Photoshop here and going through the basics.

    When you use the view Mode in mini bridge I can scroll the images using the right/left arrows open the head image in Camera Raw using the 'R' key, and pressing on the 'o' key does not open the file in Photoshop, I knew that it was supposed to. Am I missing something obvious?  By pressing the 'o' key doesn't do anything.

    With the help of Photoshop CS6.

    Thanks for the tips!

    Gene,

    Unfortunately, this did not turn.

    I have exactly the same problem on two systems, two Windows 7 based charge installs CS6 and Lightroom 4.

    Spent a good support of 45 minutes on the phone with Adobe and they are scratching their heads as well.  Now it seems that the revision in mini bridge would be a great way to open the files that you want to use, but in reality it does not work.  The tech that I do business with Adobe is to have exactly the same problem as well.

    Not quite ready for prime time...

  • Project of CS5 Windows will not open in CS5 Mac

    Dear Adobers,

    I guess my title says it all...

    When I try to open the project on my first imac gives me the following error:

    The "scratch disks" is write protected or unavailable. To open this project, the "scratch disks" will be set to your Documents folder. Do you want to continue?

    Yes of course
    The draft contained a sequence that could not be opened. No preview of the sequence is preset file or codec might be associated with this type of sequence.

    I tried to open several projects that is made with CS3, CS4 and CS5...

    None of them does not work!

    Any ideas, suggestions?

    (temporary solution now is too use Parallels, try this now hoping that will work...)

    Thanks in advance!

    He told me that some effects are not available in the mac version is that correct?

    Yes, that's correct. There are a number of effects and transitions that do not exist for the Mac that has the Windows version otherwise. You will probably see something like "offline filter" in the effect controls panel for effects that do not have Mac versions. I think they'll just be ignored (they obviously have no effect - pun a little), or you can delete them. Similarly, transitions that are not just Mac will appear as a generic transition no name placeholders; Similarly, they do nothing. If one of them is critical to the output, you will need to replace it with something available on the Mac.

  • In the photos, RAW images not be open as RAW in photoshop

    Just downloaded images from my camera (Canon 7 d) for the photos and info of the image suggests that they were recorded as the RAW images, which is what I expected.  However when I go to open to edit in photoshop CS 6, the extension changed to jpg format.  This has only started happening since the upgrade to El Capitan...

    Unless there is a reason you want to use Photos, download the camera RAW

    Download files by using the application of Capture of Image or Canon apps (camera window DC8

    worked for me).  I think that Adobe Bridge CS6 download is broken in El Capitan and

    Adobe has no plan to fix it (they want to subscribe to the CC is why).
