  • Can not uninstall program called tv.addons.ag, and I get an error-NSIS error message?

Can not uninstall program called tv.addons.ag, and I get an error-NSIS error message?

(Moved to install, upgrade, and activate)

    Hi Tom,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

The NSIS error message box (Null soft Scriptable Install System) basically means that the executable user or a Setup installer tries to run is damaged or incomplete.

NSIS error can occur for the following reasons:
    (1) software files downloaded from the Internet are not complete.
    (2) downloaded the software, the files have been changed since the original version.
    (3) your PC is infected with a virus.
    (4) physical media used to install the program is damaged.
    (5) materials required (for example, CD/DVD player) is defective.

I suggest the following tasks and check to see if it helps:

Note: Try to install your software, after the execution of each task.

    (1) clear the cache and cookies in your Web browser.

I suggest you follow the link on how to remove the cache of Internet Explorer below.

    (2) if the name of the downloaded installer files composed of several words, rename it to have only one word. (Example: SoftwareNameInstaller.exe)

    (3) if it is available, download the file for installing software from another source approved.

    4) update your antivirus/security software.

    (5) disable your antivirus and any tool on your computer download accelerator, before to perform the download.

    (6) I suggest you try to download and run the Microsoft Security Scanner that allows to remove viruses, spyware and other malicious software. Check out the link below to download Microsoft safety scanner http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

I hope that the information above to fix the problem. Please let us know if you need additional assistance. We are happy to help you.

    Thank you.

Problem started when I downloaded openVPN and it has not installed properly, so I uninstalled and tried to reinstall with a new download
I did try all the options of the antivirus and firewalls and found without spyware or viruses of any kind
I can tell you that I had some success, I was about to do a win7 reinstall then decided to use Internet Explore to download instead of Firefox and low and behold I can install all the new program.

Sadly to say everything is now running. Thought you might like to know if you have other clients with the same problem don't really know what happened with Firefox, but there is a lot of forums describing similar problems

I can now report that openvpn is correctly installed and works well, but also ccleaner which is recommended as a solution to the original problem

  • WINDOWS error 126 and RICHED20.dll is FOUND and ERROR NSIS

I've recently been delete duplicate of my WINDOWS XP files
Have also recently installed auto extra ram memory; now, with a total of 1 G
Have defragmented registry and hard drive
Used Norton eraser to ensure no viruses, etc...
Thought everything was good now BUT tried to use iTunes that could not be accessed because of TWO error codes.
    It said 'cannot find RICHED20.dll.
Looking for the computer, found that several listed in my system.
    Also have WINDOWS error 126.
System restore points tried many times - no will.
    I tried sfc/scannow - no will
Tried to remove all APPLE, HELLO, QUICKTIME, iTUNES and reinstalled - No. SOLVE
Tried to download a free program called RECUVA by Piriform and COULD NOT LAUNCH because of the NSIS ERROR
    RECUVA recovers files...
Do you have any suggestions for assistance?
It of frustrating and prevents me from doing my work

If you mean that you see a message like this trying to launch iTunes:

iTunes.exe - Unable to locate component
This application has failed to start because RICHED20.dll not found.  Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

    Followed by:

ITunes has not been installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes.
    Error 7 (Windows error 136)

I can tell you that none of these ideas of Support Engineer will replace a missing riched32.dll file.  It's just another technical support engineer wild-goose chase.

You need to replace the missing file.

I downloaded a copy of XP Pro SP3 file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

You can download it and when you do, place a copy of the file in these two folders (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

c:\Windows\System32\dllcache (this is where XP keeps backups of important files).

Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:

    http://CID-6a7e789cab1d6f39.SkyDrive.live.com/redir.aspx?RESID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311

When you see the files available for download, you can not see the file extension (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc.), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, your browser is unable to save the file with an extension (by example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You do not want to use a file called riched20 when the name of the file should really be called riched20.dll (if the downloaded file has no extension, you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to make it work.

You then put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.

OK so my battery was not charging so I installed the lenovo Power Manager software and turned off my laptop and took and put bak in the battery then plugged it in and restart the laptop. I think I might have interrupted a windows update when I lit it back I held the button for 30 seconds.

  • I get the error message when I try to install a game.

This erros that I get when I try to install this game. I play this game before in the neck, but on the old computer which had xp.

    NSIS error

You try to use the installation program is damaged or incomplete. This could be the result of a disc damage, failure of a transfer or a virus.

You can contact the author of this installer t get a new copy.

It may be possible to switch this control by using the command line switch NRC /.

The reason why you get this error is due to problems with the integrity of the install file. If you downloaded the installation file you want to remove the existing installation file and re-upload. This will often fix this problem by getting you a fresh and non-corrupt installation file.

When you download, make sure that you have disabled all virus running scanner. This can cause a problem with the installation. So go ahead and reinstall and it should install correctly.

If you have installation media, and for more reference here is a link:

  • Satellite A200-1AX: many applications does not work under Vista

I bought A200 1AX a few days ago and I'm not having a good experience with regard to the installation of applications on this Vista box. Even install yahoo messenger did not work and produces the NSIS error. 3D max 9 installation does not work (even though some have managed to operate); Install Adobe CS3 (supposed to be for Vista) did not entirely - the photopshop component have not installed, etc.

The bottom line, I plan to move to XP OS. Means the required BIOS update I have my Vista recovery CD will NOT work after the switch to XP?

    Thank you for your feedback.

    Best regards, Ashraf.

Unfortunately I put t know how to help you.
Usually, if the 3rd party applications are designed and support the Vista while there should be no problem with unique program facilities.

Check if all software packages are completely cared for and compatible with Vista.

    > The necessary BIOS update means that I have my Vista recovery CD will NOT work after the switch to XP?

No, after the update the BIOS of XP, you will still be able to use the Vista CD from recovery, but perhaps some functions such as the FN keys will not work.

  • Impossible to uninstall dropbox

I've been running dropbox on both computers and my android phone. I find that dropbox causes problems on my main laptop which uses Windows 7. Trying to uninstall, I ran into a NSIS error message "error launching uninstaller." Can someone tell me how to solve this problem? I can't find anything on the NSIS error messages and uninstalls.

I'll try to go to dropbox.com, download and install the program to repair the current installation.  Then uninstall.

  • Bug: "Notification message content error checksum" on automatic connection caused EIB failed zone set to yes

    Hi all!

We had the problem after upgrade to 5.0 APEX, we got an 'error in checksum message Notification content"instead of the login message failed when entering a wrong user name or password when you connect to our application. We could reproduce the problem on our own servers, apex.oracle.com and www.maxapex.com with application created under the APEX 4.2. After a while the search for the cause, I compared a sample application by a faulty filter and discovered that the automatic time zone setting (Modify Application Properties globalization) has been set to 'yes' instead of 'no' of the sample application. After changing the value 'no', after a connection failure error messages has worked very well. But I couldn't not to turn the defective application example be Auto setting of the time zone to "yes". So I guess it's a problem of upgrading legacy applications 5.0 and 5.0.1. Try https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=43399 and enter some users of nonsense / pw.

Does anyone else have this problem?

    Kind regards

    Hi Christian,

Thanks for the research of this issue. I filed bug #21435330 for that matter. It is caused by escaping into the JavaScript code for the detection zone, which modifies the text of the notification and makes it so different from the original text that has been calculated for the checksum for.

    Kind regards
