  I get a NSIS error when I connect to the internet.  I didn't download anything unless is is a Microsoft or updated Norton Internet security 2009 auto.  I would like a way to stop this message.  I am running Windows XP on this computer.  I have tried to find the problem in the event viewer, but can not find where this error starts.  When the computer starts there is no problem.   Only when I choose to go online.  The error in two messages.  I tried to contact Norton to see if the problem was with them but I have only spoken to people who did not know the aspect of programming of the posible problem.  Thanks in advance for any help.   The NSIS error message box (Null soft Scriptable Install System) basically means that the executable user or a Setup installer tries to run is damaged or incomplete.

  NSIS error can occur for the following reasons:
  (1) software files downloaded from the Internet are not complete.
  (2) downloaded the software, the files have been changed since the original version.
  (3) your PC is infected with a virus.
  (4) physical media used to install the program is damaged.
  (5) materials required (for example, CD/DVD player) is defective.

  I suggest the following tasks and check to see if it helps:

  Note: Try to install your software, after the execution of each task.

  (1) clear the cache and cookies in your Web browser.

  I suggest you follow the link on how to remove the cache of Internet Explorer below.

  Problem started when I downloaded openVPN and it has not installed properly, so I uninstalled and tried to reinstall with a new download
  I did try all the options of the antivirus and firewalls and found without spyware or viruses of any kind
  I can tell you that I had some success, I was about to do a win7 reinstall then decided to use Internet Explore to download instead of Firefox and low and behold I can install all the new program.

  Sadly to say everything is now running. Thought you might like to know if you have other clients with the same problem don't really know what happened with Firefox, but there is a lot of forums describing similar problems

  I can now report that openvpn is correctly installed and works well, but also ccleaner which is recommended as a solution to the original problem

  Have also recently installed auto extra ram memory; now, with a total of 1 G

  Thought everything was good now BUT tried to use iTunes that could not be accessed because of TWO error codes.

  System restore points tried many times - no will.
  I tried sfc/scannow - no will
  Tried to remove all APPLE, HELLO, QUICKTIME, iTUNES and reinstalled - No. SOLVE
  Tried to download a free program called RECUVA by Piriform and COULD NOT LAUNCH because of the NSIS ERROR
  RECUVA recovers files...
  Do you have any suggestions for assistance?

  If you mean that you see a message like this trying to launch iTunes:

  iTunes.exe - Unable to locate component
  This application has failed to start because RICHED20.dll not found.  Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

  ITunes has not been installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes.

  I can tell you that none of these ideas of Support Engineer will replace a missing riched32.dll file.  It's just another technical support engineer wild-goose chase.

  You need to replace the missing file.

  I downloaded a copy of XP Pro SP3 file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

  You can download it and when you do, place a copy of the file in these two folders (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

  c:\Windows\System32
  c:\Windows\System32\dllcache (this is where XP keeps backups of important files).

  When you see the files available for download, you can not see the file extension (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc.), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

  When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, your browser is unable to save the file with an extension (by example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

  You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You do not want to use a file called riched20 when the name of the file should really be called riched20.dll (if the downloaded file has no extension, you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to make it work.

  You then put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.

  I own a laptop y510p with windows 8.1

  OK so my battery was not charging so I installed the lenovo Power Manager software and turned off my laptop and took and put bak in the battery then plugged it in and restart the laptop. I think I might have interrupted a windows update when I lit it back I held the button for 30 seconds.

  The reason why you get this error is due to problems with the integrity of the install file. If you downloaded the installation file you want to remove the existing installation file and re-upload. This will often fix this problem by getting you a fresh and non-corrupt installation file.

  When you download, make sure that you have disabled all virus running scanner. This can cause a problem with the installation. So go ahead and reinstall and it should install correctly.

• Satellite A200-1AX: many applications does not work under Vista

  I bought A200 1AX a few days ago and I'm not having a good experience with regard to the installation of applications on this Vista box. Even install yahoo messenger did not work and produces the NSIS error. 3D max 9 installation does not work (even though some have managed to operate); Install Adobe CS3 (supposed to be for Vista) did not entirely - the photopshop component have not installed, etc.

  The bottom line, I plan to move to XP OS. Means the required BIOS update I have my Vista recovery CD will NOT work after the switch to XP?

  Usually, if the 3rd party applications are designed and support the Vista while there should be no problem with unique program facilities.

  Check if all software packages are completely cared for and compatible with Vista.

  No, after the update the BIOS of XP, you will still be able to use the Vista CD from recovery, but perhaps some functions such as the FN keys will not work.

  We had the problem after upgrade to 5.0 APEX, we got an 'error in checksum message Notification content"instead of the login message failed when entering a wrong user name or password when you connect to our application. We could reproduce the problem on our own servers, apex.oracle.com and www.maxapex.com with application created under the APEX 4.2. After a while the search for the cause, I compared a sample application by a faulty filter and discovered that the automatic time zone setting (Modify Application Properties globalization) has been set to 'yes' instead of 'no' of the sample application. After changing the value 'no', after a connection failure error messages has worked very well. But I couldn't not to turn the defective application example be Auto setting of the time zone to "yes". So I guess it's a problem of upgrading legacy applications 5.0 and 5.0.1. Try https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=43399 and enter some users of nonsense / pw.

  Thanks for the research of this issue. I filed bug #21435330 for that matter. It is caused by escaping into the JavaScript code for the detection zone, which modifies the text of the notification and makes it so different from the original text that has been calculated for the checksum for.
