"Number Lock" issue in Virtual PC 2007

Hi, I have a problem with Virtual PC 2007, what happens is that the 'NumLock' key is automatically activated whenever I have start a Virtual Machine - and it cannot be disabled, it's incredibly annoying and I already tried things like pressing the SHIFT key to try to prevent this, however does not.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

When I bought my new PC with Vista Business 64 bit (SP2, now), I didn't know that I could not run my old program back (PSPICE). Replacement cost of the software is $ 5000. I would like to find a way to run this software on this machine (I keep my old XP 32-bit, SP3 machine alive do turn this software). I tried DOSbox, but it doesn't seem to be able to read the material lock (connected to the serial port). So I was wondering if this Virtual PC 2007 might work. I wanted to just ask you the question before going through the installation process. Thank you

You could try Disk2VHD (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/ee656415.aspx)...  With it, you can clone your XP machine in a virtual machine, and then boot from your Vista machine to the clone.  I don't know if he's going to read the serial port.  You also need to activate the clone.

Alternatively, you can ask here (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprovirt/threads), which has all the VPC experts there.

Problems with the installation of MS Virtual PC 2007 on my PC of Office XP Professional. Tried several times. Program crashes at halfway through and not complete the installation.

    Hi Nareshsubra,

    1. do you get an error message?

We recommend that you check whether your system meets the minimum requirements of the system.
    See Virtual PC 2007

If so, then disable all non-Microsoft programs, and then try to install Virtual PC 2007. To do this, try the following steps:
    a. open the article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353
    b. method 2, follow steps 1 and 2, and then restart the computer.
    c. install the program.
    d. in the article, follow the steps in the "steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state" section, and then restart the computer.

  • My installation of Virtual PC 2007 hangs

    Hello

I am facing a very annoying problem that seems now more and more frequent.  Virtual PC keeps closing without any warning.

I am running Virtual PC 2007 on my Windows XP Professional SP3 host. I use Virtual PC to run Windows 2003 R2.

    WHAT I TRIED

    1. change to a dynamic IP address to a static IP address

    2 rename the server.

    3. check the event viewer on the host computer and the virtual machine.

    4. change the settings to only the local network and not connected.

    5. I tried runing the virtual machine on a different PC.

    6. update the graphics drivers on the host PC.

    7. I created nine VM and started from scratch and the problem persists.

    I STILL TRY

    1. There is no protection against the viruses on the virtual machine, so this will be my next port of call.

In the meantime, anyone know how I can diagnose it again?

UPDATE: one of my colleagues is having the same problem, that he recorded on desktop as well as mine, which is said by the way. Dell OptiPlex 380 with Windows XP Professional SP3

If anyone can help, or make suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards

  • Cohexistance with MS Virtual PC 2007

I need to install Virtual Server 1.x on Windows XP PC where Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 cannot be uninstalled or disabled.

Cohexist VMware Server and Virtual PC does

    He knows issues to consider?

Should I use VMware Server 2.x instead of 1.x?

    Concerning

    Marius

On Intel-based systems where the virtual machine is configured to use the VT - x, there are restrictions on the ability to run that hosted VMware products.  If the host operating system is 64-bit, you can run VMware virtual machines while a virtual PC VM is running.  If the host operating system is 32-bit, you can run only 32-bit VMware VMs configured for binary translation while a virtual PC VM is running.  It is also possible to interrupt the host (with reset BSOD or host) If a virtual PC VM is started when a VMware VM is running.

On material AMD or Intel processor where Virtual PC is not configured to use the VT - x, there should be no problem.

  • Satellite P500 PSPE8A - Number lock is stuck

I recently bought a Satellite P500 PSPE8A-01R002 and the number lock is stuck and does not allow the use of the numeric keypad.
I have read other similar posts on this forum about the number lock being stuck and the given solution is to download the update of the BIOS.

When I go to the download page and enter the details of the laptop, a BIOS update for Vista 32 bit is available to be downloaded.
Can you advise what download will get out of the lock number.

    Hi mate

Where you look for the update of the BIOS?
This seems to be an Australian series for Toshiba laptop.
You will need to search on the Australian driver Toshiba for the BIOS page.

In addition, intimate case of BIOS is OS independent. Therefore, it should be possible to update also using Vista OS

  • Is this OK to start the XP Mode in VirtualBox, VMWare or Virtual PC 2007?

Is it legal for a Windows 7 Pro license (or better) user to run the Image Mode Windows XP http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx in VMWare, Virtual Box or Virtual PC 2007, as long as the host operating system is a completely legal to Win7 Pro (or better) copy?

    Hello Shawn,

The Image in Windows XP Mode will work succcessfully with Virtual PC 2007 with no problems at all.  As for VMWare and Virtual Box, I think it would work successfully.  You should not experience or be concerned by problems of legality by using Virtual PC 2007 to install the Image in Windows XP Mode.  Image in Windows XP Mode has been designed to work with Virtual PC.  As said in a previous post Sanmartin, you'll lose some of the benefits of the integrated using an application of alternative virtualization solution.  If the information provided in this thread helped you get a resolution, please indicate the post as answer.  If by chance you have other questions or concerns, please post them in this thread with yoru investigation.  I look forward to hear from you.  Have a great day.

  • GAMEPAD NOT WORKING NOT NOT IN VIRTUAL PC 2007

Mine is a Windows XP PRO SP3. I programmed it for a VIRTUAL PC 2007 using WINDOWS 98 SE, as a former aviation software only runs under WINDOWS 98. I created the VIRTUAL PC, installed the software of aviation which has been very well accepted, but the WINDOWS 98 (VIRTUAL) do not allow or accept the installation of a yoke of joystick or control which are necessary for the flight. WINDOWS XP accepts any joystick or control yoke that I install. I think that VIRTUAL PC does not allow another joystick installation or activation in the game Sport Panel just like WINDOWS XP. In short, VIRTUAL PC does not have an installation of controller of game or activation to icom controller (control Panelof WINDOWS 98) game, just like WINDOWS XP, so I'm not able to fly any aircraft in the created VIRTUAL PC. In addition, the game used in WINDOWS XP controller cannot be operated in the game controller from WINDOWS 98 (VIRTUAL PC). Finally, my joystick and yoke works very well under WINDOWS XP, but not AT ALL in the PC VIRTUAL .fORGIVE my English, because it is not my mother tongue. In short, Virtual pc 2007 disclaims that any installation arcade joystick or control in the game controller of the control panel (in wINDOWS 98) there's NO PROBLEM WITH THE JOYSTICK INSTALLATION WITH WINDOWS XP). Forgive my English because it is not my mother tongue. Can you help me?!

  • Activation of Microsoft Virtual PC 2007.

Original title: «Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 "+"Virtual operating system licenses"»
I have a Dell PC with Windows XP installed and a CD to reinstall Windows XP. I installed Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 and created a virtual machine and install Windows XP on the virtual machine using the CD. Now I need to activate Windows XP on the virtual machine. I guess I only have this copy of XP is installed on one physical machine, and the virtual machine is on the same machine that I have the right to install and activate the copy of Windows XP on the vritual machine. Is this correct?
I have not activated the operating system on the virtual machine in case I am not allowed to activate it and attempts to activate it cause problems.
Another reason, that I have not activated the operating system is because I have installed antivirus software on the virtual machine and I am reluctant to connect to internet with it until I have, or know whehter I need. Outside the activation of XP I won't need internet access on the virtual machine. Is this enough to antivirus on the host computer in order to prevent the infection from the virtual machine?
    Thank you in anticipation

  • Virtual PC 2007 running Server 2003

I just installed Server 2003 in Virtual PC 2007 but I can't login.  He said press CTRL-ALT-DEL to connect but when I do it opens the Task Manager in the host (XP Pro) system.  The cursor is certainly in the virtual machine (I know that press right SHIFT to return to home and click inside the VM to go back) when I try to log on to it.

    Thanks in advance.

After clicking on the inside of the virtual, press 'Alt' + 'Delete' right only.  This simulates the ctrl, alt, del to the virtual machine.
