  I have two questions
  
  (1) I wanted to know the House OBIEE path if it is installed on a different machine (the Client Machine). I do not know where they have installed OBIEE. I have access to the machine.
  
  I wanted to update the .css files present on the machine, but before the update file that I should know the path home, so that I can go to a .css file and update accordingly.
  
  The path of the CSS files depends on the web server used by OBIEE.
  
  When the IIS web server is used, the CSS files in the OracleBI_HOME\web\app\res directory
  
  When OC4J is used, the CSS in OracleBI_HOME\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\analytics\analytics\res

  You don't specify what OS is the computer of the customer.

  As said Guna, under Windows, you will normally find in C:\OracleBI

  On Unix, use this command to find out:
  *$find /-name index_bi_ee.html*
  Expect to get permissions error if you do not use the command as root
  You should get I hope that something like this:
  /app/Oracle/product/OBIEE/index_bi_ee.html
  What is your path home OracleBI/app/oracle/product/obiee

• OBIEE 11 g - set up the Plugin IIS on IIS 7.5

  We have currently installed OBIEE 11.1.1.7.0 on our Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit machine (there IIS 7.5). We try to install IIS plugin on this machine. Here are the steps we follow here.

  -Downloaded latest IIS plugin for 11g of the Oracle's Web site.

  -Copy the issproxy.dll file that is located in Windows 64-bit folder in a directory on the Server - D:\Apps\IISPlugin\analytics\lib.

  -Created the content iisproxy.ini with sub file in the same folder:

  webLogicHost = localhost

  WebLogicPort = 9704

  Debug = ALL

  WLLogFile=D:\Apps\IISPlugin\analytics\wl-proxy.log

  -In IIS, created a new Web site and baptized analytics. Have configured on port 999.

  -In this site, in the mappings Manager - changed the path Manager StaticFile request of * to *. *

  -Created a new Manager named proxy and specified the path under the application *. Under the executable selected the location of the iisproxy.dll file. Make this Manager 'Executable '.

  -Click on "demand of Restrictions...". "button and deselected the checkbox ' Invoke Manager only if the application is mapped to.

  -Under the IIS root, provided to select the checkbox "allow ISAPI modules.

  -Restart the IIS services.

  - But we get the error when we try to access - below http://localhost:999 / Analytics

  HTTP error 404.4 - not found

  I configured SSO in OBIEE located on IIS. Our OBIEE is LDAP configured.
  
  I created the user in RPD. When I connect to my system with the user and browse url it direct me to the dashboard (SSO works).
  
  But when user B (which is not created in OBIEE DPR) but exist in AD try to browse URLs it get the page: you are not currently loged in.
  
  What is the problem... ?

  For block init USER use your LDAP data source and assing the USER sAMAccountName, make sure you set "necessary for authention".
  Also, make sure that the ldap settings are accurate.

• Configuration of IIS 7.0 in 64-bit OBIEE 11.1.1.5

  OBIEE 11.1.1.5 settle into a new server (Windows 2008 R2 Standard 64-bit). We have been able to properly configure IIS 7.0 to Console and EM.   I installed OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 in dev server environment after a few days at the RPD, we had problem to connect the web applications.
  that is, we cannot open any OBIEE similar links: http://xxx.xx.xx.xx:7001 / Analytics

  http://xxx.XX.XX.XX:7001 / console

  or just re start your Bi services... I heard oracle weblogic to give with obiee suite If Yes use startWebLogic.cmd home bi

  Make sure you enter u good port number default is 9704 as your url says 7001

  usually restart your services will be displayed... and it's your server Web is oc4j or iis?

  If so, restart oc4j... you are able to connect RPD?

  try to go to start > programs > services presentation

  I covered the Oracle documentation and blogs that gave me an idea of price, but I thought to fill the gaps in my understanding of OBIEE Backend.
  
  These are questions unanswered for me,
  
  1. What is the web.xml file and its purpose
  2. What is J2EE or ISAPI plug-in and how they should be configured
  3. under C:\OracleBI\... There are a lot of file as
  C:\OracleBI\OC4J_BI,
  C:\OracleBI\web,
  C:\OracleBI\XMLP,
  C:\OracleBI\systemsmanagement,
  
  and precisely in the OC4J_BI (if OC4J is used as an application server), as many files
  C:\OracleBI\OC4J_BI\J2EE\
  C:\OracleBI\OC4J_BI\webservices
  
  4. that means alll this mean records
  If I understand them correctly,
  
  C:\OracleBI\OC4J_BI\J2EE contains the Application server (standalone)
  
  C:\OracleBI\web\app\saw.dll contains presentation services
  
  5. a doubt here is > how that Plug-ins or applications servers know file (contact/connect) the SAW.dll (presentation services) - file setting/configuration that is used for this purpose.
  
  presentation (saw.dll) contact services / connects BI Server using INSTANCECONFIG. XML file under which the DSN, the path of the web catalog is defined. * (Please correct me if I am wrong in this part, I think I'm right *)

  I had this question in my mind for the last two weeks and received no satisfactory response by self-study.
  
  my interpretation with IIS & OC4J server is,
  1. If BI Presentation services is configured for the IIS Web server, it also uses OC4J as an application server because IIS is just an HTTP server where presentation also services need an application server which is OC4J for OBIEE. Is it true.
  2. If the IIS server is only the HTTP server, which is OC4J and OC4J for OBIEE standlone.
  I think the difference between IIS and OC4J is (true or false)
  1 oc4j or standalone oc4j is application server (contains OC4J Instance (J2EE) and HTTP server)
  2 oc4j itself has a an HTTP server which is used if we do not plan to deploy the IIS Web server.
  3 IIS server is that the HTTP protocol can be used in Production environments, which will always use OC4j application server.
  
  
  MY question is how to configure oc4j and server files and the configuration of IIS if we intend to deploy an environment like this.
  I followed the installtion OBIEE documents and did not get a clear image.
  There is something called PLUG-IN (plugin iis and j2ee plugin) which is used if we deployment under IIS and OAS (WEBLOGIC)
  
  This is is my understanding and please correct me if I'm wrong

  The application servers will be general have their own deployment directory. OC4J does not exist under OracleBI folder because it is included with the installation

  If you use an IIS server and use the plug-in ISAPI place ear/war files you would use for a server J2EE (oc4j, OAS, etc)

• Newbie question - unable to see the port number in OBIEE presentation Services

  I installed IIS and then installed 10.1.3.2.2 OBIEE. The installation was successful, and to restart the OC4J was also started successfully.   No here is a simple way... no need to work in EM...

  Go to the properties of Présentation Services menu option Oracle Business Intelligence :

  In the Web Document tab, replace the URL... simple as that...

  2. click on run.
  3. type

  4. install IIS through the applet from Control Panel Add/Remove Windows components.
