OCR bed max 255 characters?

Hello!

I have LV 8.5.1 and NI Vision 8.5.1.

Function "IMAQ OCR Read Text 3" reads only first 255 characters in the string. My rope is 300 characters long and I put the return on investment to cover all 300 characters. Same thing happens in Vision Builder 3.5. Is this a bug? Or is it that I must resolve to read more than 255 characters?

Thank you

Andrej

It is not a bug, this is the maximum number of characters that can be read in one instance of this function.

If you wish to read a string over 255, simply use the same function more than once, with different areas of interest and ultimately, concatenate the resulting strings.

  • SQL Loader fails to process the string columns longer than 255 characters

    Hi all

    I use the LKM sqlldr (oracle) file to load data from flat file to oracle. I am aware that if you do not specify the length of the input of character data, sqlldr defaults to 255 characters. But, in my store of data source, I've specified the length of the column to be 1000, but sqlldr does not always treat records with more than 255 characters.

    No idea how to change this behavior in sqlldr?

    Receive your answer.

    Hey

    You can change the step "to generate a CTL file."

    and replace the section:

              } else {

              // The source column is a STRING => no options to add
                   format = "";
              };

    with

              } else {

              // The source column is a STRING => add char(length) for length greater than 255
                   taille = new Integer(colPrecision).intValue();
                   if (taille > 254)
                   format = "CHAR("+colPrecision+")";

  • OCR training on Chinese characters

    Hi all

    I want to recognize the Chinese characters via OCR toolkit

    In regard to English characters and numbers, I could train chacters several at once, say "abc123".

    When I, however, form several Chinese characters, it will come out of bad character number warning popup.

    In additional, it may appoint one character to several Chinese characters.

    This means that I have to form Chinese characters one by one, never all of the characters?

    Chinese characters are not 'effective' for the toolkit characters LabVIEW OCR to process individual and may not treat them together to deal with.

    Could someone give me some suggestions? Thank you very much.

    I think that Chinese characters are represented in the operating system by several characters, probably a sequence of two characters.  Even if it is displayed as a single character, for LabVIEW, it seems that you type two characters.  It might be interesting to verify this by checking the length of the string in LabVIEW.

    I think that the formation of character both would work well.  If you do a lot of training, you could write a quick utility that loop over each unknown character and ask the correct character, resulting in the formation of a single character at a time by a long sequence of characters.

  • Error updating databases with more than 255 characters of text

    Rocking LV2012 with a database MS Access 2000 was created and the installer in a different environment.  Try to access and manipulate the data using a LV because GUI sucks one, they built for us.

    Some columns are of type "Memo" and LV indicates column information for these columns with a size of 1073741823.  The problem is that if I try to update the data in these columns with the Data.vi to update the DB tools and the string is > 255 or so characters I get:

    Possible reasons:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones SMS max 70 characters

    Hello world. I am new user of BB and I have a problem with the SMS length. I found a few other posts on the Web on this topic but still no real answer.

    My BB is a Pearl 8120 and I can't send simple messages SMS, more than 70 characters (they would be separated more than one sms).

    My language is Italian (but I tried to switch to English) and the method of encoding for SMS is set to 7bits, so it is supposed to allow up to 160chars, but no way.

    I wonder if it could be something related to my Italian phone operator (TIM), although I've never had similar problems with my previous cells. The Blackberry itself is TIM brand.

    I already checked my settings according to the assignment following the size of messages SMS and data coding

    Any solution?

    Thanks to everyone will help.

    UPDATE: problem solved

    I write to the solution of the problem, must it be useful to someone else...

    1st:

    Sending SMS was not actually separated after 70 characters: it was just a problem with the number of characters displayed on the screen that was wrong. This is definitely a bug in the firmware

    2nd:

    Update the firmware to the new version 4.5 and the fault is gone. Now it correctly displays the 160 characters!

    Bye!

  • Creating a good abc file for OCR

    Hello

    I'm looking to generate training for my text VI recognition data programmatically. I found a VI of pre-existing (https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-26398) which takes a string and generates a .abc. However, the results were not too accurate. A slight increase in the rate of detection was obtained by adding duplicate characters but in different size. However, 'IMAQ OCR Train' is capable of managing the 255 characters, so I can't create an enormous amount of characters for the training data or I am confident that the result would be that much better to make it. I was able to create another .abc file by manually setting the characters in "Vision Assistant" VI, but the difference between the methods was an important place and this one was a lot more reusable time and less.

    My questions are the following:

    How could I could create a better set of training data using the attached VI?

    Would it not possible to generate multiple abc files and combine them into one?

    I think you can merge files set character in NI OCR training interface.

  • How my sqlldr field-readable characters?

    I load some data from a txt to Oracle table file using sqlldr. The field file has the HTML code, I need to insert into the table with the CLOB data type.

    It gives following error:
    "Field of the data file exceeds the maximum length.

    If I truncate up to 250 characters of the field data in the file, then sqlldr load without any error, but if I keep all the data, it shows above error.

    based on this error, I guess sqlldr can only read up to 250 characters per field in the file. If this is true, could you please let me know, what setting I have to do, so it can load the full html code. here in my file, html code max is 1020 characters.

    Data type default in SQL * Loader is CHAR (255). The code to load the character fields over 255 characters, the type and the length of your control file

  • Only files tif over a certain length (60 characters): cannot open, delete, find, change of name or anything like that

    Only files tif over a certain length (60 characters):
    I cannot open/view the with any application, cannot be deleted and can not even the name of the file to allow me to try to shorten the name. I can't copy the files or move them from their current folder.  What is going on? These are files that I saved last year. (I don't remember if I tried to open them before.) My computer is a laptop HP DV 6000 series, Media Center Edition Windows XP with ServicePak 3.

    There is a fundamental limitation in Windows that the total length of a file, including the path name cannot exceed 255 characters.  It is possible that the total path to your .tif files is something long like:
    C:\Documents and utilisateur\Mes Photos\MySummerVacationLastYear\BigFileName.tif Settings\nom
    and the total number of characters in all of this is greater than 255.

    There are two ways you can deal with that.  Use the command "SUBST" alias drive letter to the folder that contains your files.  To do this, open a command prompt window (start-> Run-> "cmd") and enter a command such as (to borrow the above, for example):

    SUBST M: "C::\Documents and Settings\nom of utilisateur\Mes Photos\MySummerVacationLastYear.

    Where "M:" is a unused drive letter and the rest is the path to the folder that contains your files.  You can now access your file using:
    M:\BigFileName.tif
    Who have significantly fewer characters in the path of your original file and allow you to access.

    A second approach is to create a folder at the root of your hard drive (for example C:\Pics) and then copy your files into this folder.  Not just any copy program can handle long copy paths (as you have discovered), but can "Robocopy" (robust copy).  You can get Robocopy without the resource Windows Server 2003 on the Microsoft Download site Kit
       <>http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=17657 >
    After copying the files, it will be a much shorter and more accessible way.  Robocopy is a command line program and must be run from a command prompt window.
    Otherwise, you might be able to move the folder containing these images in this directory at root level.

  • Attribute with forumula to accept only 20 characters

    Good evening, Oracle,

    Currently I have an attribute called "Activity_Name".  I have a team that has an ETL process that accepts only the attribute of max 20 characters in length.

    So I have another attribute called "Activity_Name20".

    So basically, if an article in "Activity_Name" under the characters 'Activity_Name20' will assume this value.

    If there is a value in "Activity_Name" it is more than 20 characters, "Activity_Name20" will assume the first 20 characters.

    However, the formula I have with it is not working and in fact, preventing me from trying to break into the hierarchy.

  • What is the maximum number of characters in a variable of FrameMaker 11? a marker of FrameMaker 11?

    Thanks to anyone who can answer the question trivia FM today!

    -Matt

    Trick question - with or without the use of the graphical interface of FM?

    1. via the interface to define a variable of FM, FM will not save first characters of your definition of the variable - 1022 if you dare try to enter only a lot through the slot dialog user interface.

    2 import a variable through MIF, adds virtually no matter how long - I've tested 2510 characters. HOWEVER, FM will only display the first 1023 characters in this string.

    If you save the file to the MIF, you can still see the original length of the variable. The other drawback is that if you touch one of these long variables through the user interface of FM (change Variables) then FM log down up to 1022 characters - no matter how save you (binary or MIF).

    FWIW - Klaus Daube lists (see: http://daube.ch/docu/fmaker25.html ):

    Until the FM 7.2: up to 255 characters with meta-notations (such as or \t -This is considered to be 16 characters resp. 2). See also note Variables below

    FM 8.0: Until 2023 Windows Codepage characters or upward for 2022 UTF-8 characters

    I would say that this is not quite correct. You can enter more than 255 before FM 7.2 as well, but once again the display problem through the UI, kicks and truncated to 255. The newer versions don't show 1022/1023, but you can enter characters over 2510 (which in this case is futile anyway).

  • field of varchar2 external table storing only 255 bytes (4000 bytes)

    Hi all

    I was wondering if someone can tell me what im missing here.
    I have an external table with one column defined as varchar2 (4000 byte). the file contains a line with 255 characters (all the number 2 for simplicity). When I query the table, everything is fine. If I add 1 plus 2 chain (256 characters) it fails. im sure its something stupidly simple, but what am I missing? If he doesn't have to question fine up to 4000 characters?

    Thank you
    Dave

    I ran your testcase, thanks for that.
    Make sure you read the SQL and PL/SQL FAQ as well (the first thread sticky on this forum), he explains how to post the code formatted and many other things.

    In any case, the .log file gave me:

    LOG file opened at 07/18/11 20:05:33

      Record format DELIMITED, delimited by 0A
      Data in file has same endianness as the platform
      Rows with all null fields are accepted

      Fields in Data Source:

          Terminated by ","
          Enclosed by """ and """
          Trim whitespace same as SQL Loader

    So, what happens if you create the table as follows:

     CREATE TABLE davep2 (

      missing field values are null
       (

    Many have asked this. THIS will CAUSE PERFORMANCE DEGRADATION, this is why the development didn't miss do, but too many have asked, then...

    Accomplish a lot of architectural planning of additional hardware and performance optimization... Get a good DBA and someone who understands the middleware software to help you examine how upgraded hardware, network and all other performance bottlenecks, as in need of several knots to deal with downturns. DB etc. RAC. It's not trivial.

    Which allows huge metadata fields and especially if as is normal users wishing to 20 + metadata fields (all this great too) will be easy. Optimization of performance it will take someone with skill level.

    You will need to contact support (or wait until it is available later) for the last patch of 10g. There are 2 variables, you will need to set after having patched.

    .
    Added a configuration variable 'DoPrepStmtForMetaValueMod' to allow using metadata
    fields more than 4000 characters. If this variable is prepared set that we use
    instructions of query, which allow us to use fields of metadata more than 4000
    characters.
    .
    By default MemoFieldSize is set to 2000 in order to have a longer Memo fields
    game of the MemoFieldSize in the config.cfg

    So MemoFieldSize under 4 k should be allowed without the patch and the new config variable, but again it will slow things down

    When we look at it not forget multiple-byte characters.

  • Problem copying 4000 characters of CLOB in VARCHAR2 (4000 TANK)

    I'm migrating data from a table where it is stored in a CLOB to another table where I said a column of VARCHAR2(4000 CHAR).

    I stated a cursor in the form:

    (a) select columna, columnb, substr(clob_column,1,4000) of...

    (b) select columna, columnb, dbms_lob.substr(clob_column,4000,1) of...

    I then loop and EXTRACT the value of substr in a variable that is declared as VARCHAR2 (4000 TANK)

    With the cursor version 'a', using the regular subtr function, I get: ORA-01461: can bind to a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column

    With the slider 'b' version, by using the dbms_lob.substr function, I get: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: digital or value error: character string buffer too small

    I use Oracle 10.2.0.4.0

    I don't know yet what to watch next?

    Machinery says:

    However, the database uses NLS_CHARACTERSET UTF8 and NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET = AL16UTF16, which are multibyte so I was expecting the declared with semantic CHAR VARCHAR2 to be multibyte.

    And it is. But in Oracle SQL VARCHAR2, as I already mentioned, must not exceed 4000 bytes. So even if you have declared it as 4000 characters, you'll get an error when the total length in bytes is greater than 4000. And since, according to the character set, a character can be 1 to 4 bytes, Oracle takes the best cases and allows you to declare it as max 4000 characters. How many characters will fit in eseccion is another question.
