Office 2008 compatibility

I have a 2009 Mac with snow leopard 10.6.8 and the release of Office for Mac 2008 12.3.6 version I bought at the same time is already up and running.  If I'm going to El Capitan Office 2008 (already installed) will still work?  The Excel is vital for my work and I don't want to have to buy another version of Office.

No doubt. However, it should be noted that Microsoft can't stand this version of office.

First, it could be useful that you posted your question to a Microsoft Office for Mac forum as opposed to this one, for the model 12 "retina MacBook early 2015.

If you use the updated Office 2008 DVD, it may not install unless it detects the presence of an earlier version of Office, for example, Office 2004. It is difficult to remember how the installer works because I have not used in the last 7 years or so.

But by all reports, Office 2008 works with El Capitan.

I get a Setup error trying to install Office 2008 on my new MacBook Air running El Capitan.  I tried my new Super drive I bought just to do this, and I also copied the installation on my 750 GB external drive as well, but nothing works?

    Thank you very much

You must install Office 2011, if you can find it, or get a subscription of $99 / year to 2016 from Microsoft Office. Individual applications can be downloaded freely. If you do not have a subscription, then they operate in trial mode.

  • What is the difference between Office 2008 for Mac and Office for Mac home & edition student?

    Hello
I think buying or the other, but do not understand what the difference is. In the description they say that Office 2008 contains Microsoft Server Exchange Support and Automator Actions for Workflows in Microsoft Office in addition to the standard programs. I also know that the support of Microsoft Exchange Server is required for some advanced features of Entourage to work, but I don't know what are the characteristics and also what Automator Actions? I want to make a decision about whether or not I need those. Also, I have Office 2001, so if I buy a new Office 2008 will be all the data that I have in Entourage, including contacts, emails, categories and calendar transfer safely to the Entourage again?

  • SBS 2008 compatibility with OS windows XP/7

If the server at my workplace computer is running windows SBS 2008, and we have 2 clients running Windows XP Professional, I can configure three new customers with Windows 7. I'm not sure that the it guy who has implemented the network upward originally stated that any installation of computers in the network must run XP and could not be equipped with Windows 7. This system was the installation in July last year, and I am not interested in the purchase of new operating systems for existing customers of 2 and am not able to source XP for 3 additional guests I want to Setup. There will be compatibility problems with the configuration of computers with different OS, and they are all still will have the same functionality with respect to the initial configuration (IE still using the http://connect) and remote access

Your problem would be probably better suited to the Microsoft Technet forums, located at the:

    http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/categories/

They are better directed at Windows Server and other professional level products, repost your problem it would give you better results.

  • IMac 24 beginning 2008 compatibility El Capitan

    Hello

Since I installed El Capitan on my 24 IMac early 2008, even though I have enough space and 2G of memory, computer stops responding and I have to restart twice or three times a day. I've already checked in an Apple Store and I know that my computer is OK.

    What should I do?

    Should I reinstall Yosemite?

IMac 24 beginning 2008 is clearly not compatible with El Capitan because I didn't hurt before you install it.

    Thanks for your help.

    Christel

The problem is more than likely that you have 2 GB of ram. The last OS X to run good in only 2 GB has been Snow Leopard. Your iMac can use up to 6 GB of ram and if you stay with El Cap, you will spend. If you are running any cleaning or the AV software that also negatively affect performance.

  • Validation and error using Amicus Attorney Small Office 2008 runtime error

I use Amicus Attorney small firm Edition 2008.  It works well with Vista and I keep getting "validation errors" and closing the program. How to put an end to the plant.

    Hello from TuComp in California...

I did the job.  How many users?  Server based? You can upgrade to Vista Premium, based on the number of users.  First of all, try the following...
Step 1. Remove UAC for yourself
    Step 2.  Reset
    Step 3. Uninstall and restart.
Step 4.  Reinstall, but install off of the C:\ root not in program files.
(Make sure that you have administrator rights).
    That should do it...
    Good luck!
    Salud!
