  You can't look "inside" a backup. Just use iTunes to sync with your iPhone, then you'll see a separate category for voice memos in the sidebar.

  I have a 11.1.0.7 RAC database on a cluster with two nodes AIX HACMP and use shared raw logical volumes for the data files and of the local filesystems, not simultaneous for the archiving of newspapers.  RMAN is currently back up the data from the secondary node files and archive logs are saved using backups of files only.  I would add archiving logs, for the RMAN backup, but the destination of the main newspaper "/ arch01" is mounted over NFS on the secondary node using the mount point ' / archo01_NFS '.  The sys admin says that he cannot change the mount point to match what is on the primary node because it will affect HACMP failover.  I looked in the documentation of RMAN for a setting in which I might be able to specify thread 2 archivelogs only during the main backup and before you run a log backup archive separate thread 1 on the primary node, but there seems to be such a parameter.  Someone encountered this and found a way to remedy this?

  Probably not.  One thing that I've learned about people, once they find something that works, they are not interested in change, even if it means it's extra work.  It was probably necessary when VDI is out, or maybe it was on a version of Windows that is has not been fully supported.  So they have found a work-around, never really tried with a newer version of Windows and guess that this is still a requirement.

  I looked at these docs, I see no evidence, there must be a separate process to explore.  I think they do it because that's how they did it, and I think this rather lazy.  Things change, why not process?

  I have a Dev on Oracle 10 g (10.2.0.3 on Solaris 8) db, for which I want to set up a simple backup process hot. My question is: for simplicity, instead of putting each tablespace in backup mode and to take it out of backup mode, can I put the entire db in backup mode and copy the data files and control and take the Pb of backup mode:

  When you use RMAN, you don't have to put a tablespace (or database) in BACKUP Mode.

  With RMAN, you can create of BACKUPSETs, in this case, backups can be smaller than the actual database files as RMAN does not save the blocks that have never been used (that is to say, the blocks above the last measure in a data file). In addition, you can create AS COMPRESS in order to introduce more compression.
  Alternatively, you can creat backup as Copy, in which case backups are the same size as the data files that you might have with scripted backups (UserManaged).

  You MUST run your database in ArchiveLog mode.
  You MUST save each ArchiveLog.
  You must save your controlfiles as backup controlfile separate. However, even if you do not configure CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP ON, whenever you back up the SYSTEM Tablespace (that I advice every day), the controlfile is going to get backed up in the same backup set. For added convenience, I prefer controlfiles backup as separate backups so that they save files are easily identifiable.

• Time machine freezes when going back in time on a particular week

  I run ERD without problem, reset the permissions etc.

  At the time of this particular date / week, I discovered a set of 4000 pdf small files lacked especially after that I moved the folder that they were in the Office to a subfolder.    Permissions are read-only - when I restored it Time machine should load in the box deposit - change the permissions to read/write, and then move them into the folder that I wanted to.

  Funny about them I had loaded them out of a CD and the system said I had no permission to write to the directories but copied in anyway.

  With the restoration of time machine, he wrote the main folder and a subfolder and 2 documents and then gave the error on the permissions.

  That's all the time I started having problems - firstly could not go into the time machine at all, can now save on that day- but then the system freezes and as its full screen - is not an interruption.

  I have seen discussions on the back up gel but none on paging through time machine.

  FWIW, I've never had TM freeze. Rather than trying to understand what happened, I would erase the TM drive and let it do a new, full backup. I don't think I would try to make backup on separate partitions. I try to avoid any possible confusion. In my own world, I have two external TM HD partitions (in addition to other partitions that contain bootable clones, among others). The backup on them alternating system (it's a framework, I recall).

• Unable to connect laptop Win 7 to Server 2008R2

  I have a company laptop that is configured to connect to a Server 2003 domain, when I'm at the office and a separate remote desktop connection.

  Here, at home, I have a server 2008R2 with another domain box.  I have another office here connected to this area, so I know that it can be found.  All the these are connected to the switch came.  All three boxes can access the internet.

  When I try to join the domain of origin (HomeDomain.local\Chris), I get an error that could find no server logon.

  Can I network card and see everything except the server.  Indeed, the server cannot see the laptop, but the laptop can not see the server.  Weird... it is all connected to the same switch, which is connected to a wireless router.

  Any ideas?
