Office size drive HARD primary Pavilion T245.it (DM042A).

Hello

I need to change the disk HARD primary (80 MB) from my desktop HP Pavilion T245.it (System DM042A number), works perfectly since 2003 - thank you HP! - and I would like to know what is the maximum MB drive HARD size my PC / BIOS can handle.

Thanks in advance, Giorgio

Hello

At least, you can install a 250 GB HARD drive...

Thank you

  • Replace drive hard hp pavilion dm3 after failure of hard drive test.

    All,

I have a HP Pavilion Dm3. Windows 8 Beta. My error messages included: drive hard Test failed. Hard disk 1 (303) fast. Hard drive 1 full (395). Most recent upload has itunes. From what I see I need to replace my hard drive.

My question is this; is there a manual or a guide on how to, 1. physically, replace the hard drive and 2. record information that may exist on my hard drive crashed? Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hello:

There are many models of dm3.

I pulled a repair of the dm3-2000 series. I hope that this layout is the same.

Read Chapter 4 of the procedure on the removal and replacement of the hard disk. Do not throw the old hard drive.

You will need to the caddy, the connector and screw to transfer to the new.

    http://bizsupport1.Austin.HP.com/BC/docs/support/SupportManual/c01893277/c01893277.PDF

Before you remove the hard drive, you can see if you can copy your files on a USB portable hard drive by downloading, burn it to a CD (using the ISO burning method) and make a the Kapersky rescue CD bootable CD. This will allow you to see the folders on your C:\ drive using the method of the graphical interface of the program execution.

Then you can copy and paste your files on your portable hard drive.

If the rescue CD can not see your hard drive, there's probably nothing you can do anything to the drive for recovery.

    Hello

Unfortunately, the HARD drive is not the best thing to do in your model in particular (you need to remove the top cover and the Assembly of the speaker), however the procedure is detailed from Page 52 of your maintenance & Service Guide.

  • Equium L40 - 17 M: what size drive HARD maximum can I use?

I was wondering if anyone knows the maximum size of the hard drive I can install it, and what should I look for when you buy one?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

I think that the L40 supports disk HARD 2.5 SATA and he s not what size HARD drive is important.
The laptop must manage each 2.5 SATA HDD.
500 GB 2.5 HDD is currently the largest on the market, but in the next time you will find the 2.5 SATA HDD that supports 1 TB (1000 GB).

  • Pavilion 17-g015dx: Add drive hard hp pavilion 17-g015dx

    Hi all

Recently bought a Pavilion 17-g015dx for parents.  I would like to add an additional ssd, but do not see the gates on the Sub unit.  So, two questions:

1: anyone know if there is a slot for HDD 2.5 "extra in the Pavilion 17-g015dx?

2: how to you remove the 17-g015dx flag to physically access the hard drive connectors?

    Thanks for the help!

    Hello

(In the book), no option for 2 HARD drives. I know that Envy 17 (not the flag) machines have 2 slots. My old ready machine has 2 HDD and a cache of 24 GB. My computer of current loan is also an Envy 17 and he has 2 HARD drives (in fact a 256GB SSD and a 1 TB HARD drive).

    Kind regards.

  • Replace drive HARD primary - (FAT partition)?

I have grown too large for the 80 GB hard drive in my 4500 size 6-year-old plan to replace it with a 160 GB IDE drive.  I intend to temporarily install the new drive as a slave, Ghost allows you to make a copy of the first on the second, then swap autour riders to do the second drive (160 GB) drive and cables.  The original drive Dell has a 31 MB FAT partition and the rest is NTFS.  How important is that FAT partition?  Do I need?  Do you know Ghost if he will duplicate automatically or do I need to create it myself before doing the copy?

    Thank you.

  • Max size drive HARD I8500 upgrade?

My 5 year old Inspiron 8500 is a wonderful machine and it is still in service. However, the time to go a new and large HDD to replace the original 40 GB. What is the maximum size? BIOS has still 137 GB limit so I can only install a 120 GB one? Thanks to a bouquet.

  • What is the maximum size of hard drive, which can be installed in a pavilion d4790y desktop computer?

What is the maximum size of hard drive, which can be installed in a desktop pavilion d4790y?

It would be a secondary drive, not the boot drive.

The operating system is Vista Home Premium, 32-bit.  The version of the BIOS is 5.08.

Are there any changes or upgrades that would allow an internal hard drive 3 TB to install?

Here are the specifications and configurable options for your desktop HP Pavilion d4790y and here are the specifications of its card mother P5BW - THE (Basswood2). Based on the specifications and the age of the computer, I would expect you to use a hard drive 3 TB as a secondary drive on Windows Vista (DISPLACEMENT SP1 or SP2) and Windows 7. Formatted as MBR would require the drive to use with a minimum of two partitions. Formatted as GPT would require only a single partition. In no case will you be able to use the 3 TB as a boot device drive because your computer does not support a UEFI BIOS that allows booting from a GPT formatted disk. No changes or updated should be held.

  • DC7700: Size maximum hard drive on HP DC7700?

I recently upgraded to a 2 TB to 3 TB (after the death of the 2 TB).

I also upgraded from Win7 for Windows 10 at the same time.

A week later, the operating system won't start.  When I look at the disc (he jumped into another office) and it the disc seemed to only be formatted in ran 2 TB Seagates SeaTools.  It is passed all tests ok.

Trying to get Win10 to do a repair of the car.  Failed.  Tried to update (save user settings)... failed.  Tried to wipe & re-install... also failed.

I was wondering if there is a problem with the maximum size of hard drive in the BIOS.  Running 1.06 (the latest news of 2011?).

I hope someone could shed some light on this?

    Thank you

    John.

    Hi, John:

There are actually a few problems...

    1. you must not exceed 2 TB for a boot disk when your PC lacks a UEFI BIOS (which is not the dc7700).

    2. If the HARD drive is a SATA III (6.0 Gbps) by car, there is a very good chance he's one of the symptoms listed in this document from HP below...

    http://h20566.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.Oid=3718645&docid=emr_na-c02711513&lang=en&cc=us

I had the same thing happen to me (the first question is in the document) on my dc7800 when I installed a new 500 GB WD Caviar Black HDD, SATA III HARD disk.

W7 has worked for awhile and then the disc has not been recognized more.

I assumed that the drive is defective, so I RMA'd it, and the other does exactly the same thing.

I swapped the 500 GB of disk with a disk of 1 TB SATA III coming from my 8200 Elite CMT.  The 8200 Elite came from the factory with 1 TB HARD drive.  1 elite 8200 than TB HARD drive worked perfectly well in my dc7800 and the WD 500 GB drive has worked perfectly well in my 8200 Elite (which has a SATA III HARD disk controller).

IMO, the unrecognized drive is because of this incompatibility problem described in the document of support.

For more information on disks larger than 2 TB, read this white paper from HP below.

You should be able to use the 3 TB, such as a data reader drive if you format to GPT, provided that the incompatibility problem does not exist when it is not be used as a startup disk.

    http://h20566.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.Oid=3459241&docid=emr_na-c02826744&docLocale=en_US

Curiously, the dc7900 and 8000 Elite PC, I, do not have that issue with discs hard non - HP SATA III - even if their controllers are only SATA II as well.

  • Hard drive the HP PAVILION DV6T - 4000 NOTES

My hard drive on HP PAVILION DV6T - 4000 NOTE failed. I need to order a replacement hard drive. Kindly let me know the best option for the same.

    Hello

This is a technical director of the machine so very little information we can find. He uses this means you can use any standard SATA HDD SATA. If you want to buy the original size and the brand, you can order from HP, or any computer store.

My suggestion: a WD SATA II 750 GB at 7200 RPM should work fine.

    Kind regards.

  • New hard drive for HP Pavilion dv6 drive because of error messages 303 and 305

    Hello

My laptop was getting slower and slower, so I did a restore default via the recovery partition, and when it restarts to start reformat and reinstall back to factory condition, I got a message on the screen telling me to run the hard drive test. Did it and got error 303 and 305 messages. Restore to preset works however, after doing research in the error codes I go account, I'm for a new hard drive.

My laptop is a HP Pavilion dvd6-3203TU with WIndows 7 Home Premium installed. It currently has a disk 320 GB TOSHIBA MK3265GSXX HDD in it.

After reading the forums, I am pleased to see that my recovery disks will be reinstalling everything on a new hard drive and partition a C: drive and also the recovery partition. The main issue I have is my new drive hard must it be 320 GB in size as the original or to buy something like a disk 500 GB + for the laptop. If I have to replace the hard drive that I can as will increase size while, if possible i.e..

It must also be a Toshiba or I can buy another brand?

Eager to help regarding this I thank you in advance as

    Hello

Your laptop is listed as coming with a 320 GB hard drive, but you can install just as easily a 500 GB or 750 GB HARD drive if you want more space - readers at the following links are examples that would be perfect for your laptop - you are in no way limited to a particular manufacturer.

    Hard drive 500 GB

    750 GB hard drive.

The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 65 of your & Maintenance Guide.

    Kind regards
