T550 - lack of RAM

Dear Forum,

So I decided to change the RAM in my T550.

However, the machine does not start and I get 4 beeps loud.

Obviously, it is because of the RAM - but is there a reason to explain why it does not work?

New RAM

Best regards

Martin young

No, voltade normal (1.5V) is a feature of revenge RAM to achieve high performance (high frequency, low latency). Thus, the SPD support low voltage could be restricted.

Menu, Setup of the BIOS has RAM sticks voltage management, even the hidden Advanced menu. At least SandyBridge on BIOS of Lenovo, laptops IvyBridge.

  • HP15-f023wm: lack of RAM slot

Access the user Panel on the back of the laptop shows the card Wifi and the system RAM. There is a stick of 4 GB of RAM, which I assume is installed at the factory. On the section contiguous, next to the RAM already in place, is an area that seems to be able to receive another stick of memory run. However, this area has no location for plug RAM in and the brackets on each side to keep it locked. Is this correct, or is it a factory default? It would be useful to have an another 4 GB of RAM.

On Baytrail as your N series Celeron processor models, it is only a single memory slot no doubt keep the price as low as possible. Traces are there but not the actual memory slot as you saw. You can install a module of 8 GB in this niche to have total of 8 GB.

What do you see in the activity monitor to suggest that the RAM is fine?

The EtreCheck report shows that you have only 33MB of free RAM in time, which can only cause slowdowns. Google Chrome only takes 1.3 GB of it. Chrome is a Devourer of enormous resources, so if possible, try to quit smoking by using another browser.

    < re-titled by host >

You cut off most of the production of EtreCheck, but in general, which is caused by the insufficient RAM in your system. The operating system must give way to other active processes, or a new application that you have launched. Something must be driven out of RAM to make room.

  • Early 2008 iMac RAM Upgrade

    Hello

I have my old iMac bought in early 2008. It works very well and did an amazing job. However as time progressed so also the OS X has progressed on my iMac too. Snow Leopard, I moved to El captain.

The maximum memory I have is 4 GB of RAM (2 GB * 2 LOCATIONS). But recently, I discovered that there are a lot of buffering going on and I'm sure it's due to lack of RAM. A lot of paging happens I think between the RAM and the HARD drive.

My question to the readers of this message is:

Can I go head and buy a Stick 4 GB RAM (DDR2 - 800 Mhz - 4 GB of RAM). What might be the implications of material. Although the chip itself is very expensive, I fear not buy if this will help my iMac to better respond to requests.

Comments appreciated by all those who have done this kind of upgrade.

    Thanks for reading my message.

    Best wishes

    DeSmet

Your iMac can actually use up to 6 GB of ram. Buy ram from a friendly seller Mac as OWC http://eshop.macsales.com/

    or critical http://www.crucial.com

That said even with 6 GB your old iMac can't run your expectations with El Capitan. An older operating system like Mountain Lion might better work in 4 or 6 GB of ram on your machine http://www.apple.com/shop/product/D6377Z/A/os-x-mountain-lion

  • Suddenly very slow - being report attached - it's just the ram?

    Hi all

my macbook suddenly turns very slowly, he has been allowed recently after some graphics clamping because it is so old!

    things are critical.

If it's just the ram, (I doubt it, but maybe wrong!) can someone help me with my maximum?

    I think that his officially 4 (2 x 2), but remember reading that a 4 + 2 can work?

    Thank you

  • RAM Lenovo G40-45 AMD A6 problem

Yesterday, I bought a new TEAM DDR3L pc-12800 4 GB laptop memory ram for my g40-45. I have a lack of ram 2 gb pc-12800 ddr3l location 1. I have install new ram in slot 2, but after that I installed the RAM, my 45 g40 lights. No logo, only black screen of lenovo. Please help me!

Problem solved. I went back the RAM and received a new one and it works! So the problem isn't on the laptop but on the memory it me that first I received is probably failing.

It seems team 12800 ddr3l memory was little quality control before the factory he has put on the market. I have also found in the other forum user has had this problem, they had the defect of memory.

So my suggestion is if you're of course had this same problem, just return the memory to the Distributor and ask new memory Exchange same type same brand. I got this new memory which released the week 25/2016 (July) and it just works on my lenovo g40 - 45 amd a6 6310.

BTW if you are installing memory make sure of course u plug in the large memory capacity on the first slot first is something essential to do!

  • MD101LL/A + 2SSD + 16 GB of ram with the hiccups

    Hello ladies and gentlemen!

Unfortunately my MacbookPro 13 "mid-2012 last only two years without any problem. I was more than satisfied with the purchase and modification of the Windows system and was amazed by the reliability that this computer can give you. When I bought it I also bought 16 GB RAM Kingston and asked the Apple dealer to install it. Year later, I bought the Samsung 850 PRO 128 GB SSD and put second life in this machine. Everything worked well, and by "working", I mean the intensive use of Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign and same first also connected to monitor the second.

After you install Yosemite, I started having some minor problems with sudden restarts and so on, nothing special when you're used to Windows machines. A few months later, I started having the problem with multicolored stripes on the screen who proposed the GPU problem or the motherboard. They showed only successive, especially on a very intense use. Then I went to the Iceland carrying my mac in the backpack I used to do on other trips. For 10 days, when MacBook was not connected to the secondary monitor, everything was fine. When I came back the problem began to occur more often at the point when I wasn't able to use the laptop more because he gave me only three annoying sounds and restart. I discovered that probably it's dying motherboard.

I sent the MacBook to the Apple reseller and they cleaned the motherboard of every kind of moisture or rust might be, they have changed the two cables, run all this fancy diagnostics and my laptop was like new again. Everything started working. At least that's what I heard on the phone. When I arrived to pick up the consultant has started to show me how it works and then BAM! Scratches on the screen again! You should see his face!

It turns out that when he holds the laptop with one hand, pressing the left side of the touchpad seeds present! Conclusion: problem with memory. The location of the bottom to be exact. Superior was beautiful, no matter what sticks of RAM, we used. The bottom has always been a failure. So I was left with only 8 GB of RAM and the upgrade of an another SSD instead of the Cd-ROM-Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB SSD.

This configuration has worked quite fine, BUT from time to time, he showed a kind of hiccup that now are my daily problem...

Please, watch the video below and tell me what the * is still happening?

  • HP all-in - One PC 19-2113w 19: white/black screen after upgrading RAM

    Hello

So I have upgraded RAM using 2 x 4 GB SODIMM DDR3 Corsair 1600 Mhz, after installing the PC boots but screen is white/black

    steps to follow:

    1. I tried with 1 socket by using only a RAM, screen black

    2. I tried with 2 socket using RAM only one with the same RAM step 1, screen black

    3. I tried step 1 and 2 using the other RAM, screen black

    now here it gets interesting

4 tried 1 socket using Original/factory RAM, screen black

5 tried 2 socket using Original/factory RAM, screen black

    6. tried without any RAM at all, looks like a lack of RAM, screen black

Now, to each measure adopted, I must say that the screen sound not only not showing things, but its totally black as it does at all, until the system starts normally. !

Is it Possible the upgrade of RAM affect the screen? or maybe when I was replacing the RAM I hit some conecting by cable to screen or something?

Removed the battery and hold the power for 30 sec button (BIOS reset if I'm not mistaken?) now it works with the orginal of RAM so I guess my new RAM that's the problem!

  • 4 GB of RAM - only a few MB left * help *.

    Hello

yesterday, I noticed several hick ups with lack of RAM. All running programs were arrested in a scenario for the accident. He (OSX Yosemite) I was thinking that the question might have been "addressbooksourcesync" that took a lot of RAM. Then I solved this problem so that this doesn´t application take longer, but the problem remains. I then upgraded to El Capitan, but yet all of my RAM seems to have disappeared and the machine is incredibly slow. There here are some hard facts of my analysis but I couldn t see the main issue so far. Is there someone out there who is able to help me?

    Thanks in advance,

    BR Nick!

You actually have a performance problem?

Don't you worry about that. OS X, like all modern UNIX systems, use all available RAM to increase performance. The important thing is to the memory, which is green on the next page you post. There is nothing wrong. It is the way it is supposed to work.

  • As the computer is old and slow it is better to increase the RAM or better to invest in a new computer update?

    original title: lack of RAM

McAfee, unable to update as the only security base 256 and 512 MB of RAM required. As the computer is old and slow it is better to increase the RAM or better to invest in a new computer update. Would appreciate help in this case. Also as I'm pretty computer illiterate, please use the terms that I can follow. Thank you

    Hi Kathleen Almeida,.

Because the computer is old, instead of upgrading the ram, you can buy new computer. I suggest you contact system manufacturer more about if you need to upgrade or buy a new computer.

  • The good old Vista 32-bit and 4 GB Ram dilemma.

Then I started to get a grip on computers... (they interest me: P). back in ' 06, when Vista was first released, I bought a new computer from Dell. Meh, the computer was fine, I never really knew what the specifications mean in reality at the time, but the computer was just. Now, ' 09, I learned to change computers in order to increase its performance and what-not. I started to buy adding RAM... like most people do. I bought 2 x 2 GB RAM for a reasonable price and I was very happy to see the speed boost in my computer. I had a stick of 512 MB RAM on the inside so I just took that one and put in two 2 GB of RAM.

I turned on the computer, and my boy I see a big difference. The first thing I notice is that I have only 3.5 GB of RAM which is used by my computer. I do a little research and found out that 3.5 GB is the limit for 32-bit operating systems. I was pretty sad. Anyway, I was still happy with what I got. One thing I noticed after installing the RAM was that most of my stuff was buggy to the top. In my dxdiag.exe, BIOS, PROCESSOR and other stuff as it seemed to say n/d I was puzzled and I also noticed that the display of network connectivity (one on bottom right) told me that I was not connected to a service at all. I was scared, but then my internet worked perfectly well.

After leaving my computer on Defrag, my sound is messed up. Every time I started a program with a kind of ring to it, my sound would stutter like crazy. I have was bothered by this and decided to find out what was wrong. I tried to restart, System Restore and I tried to tinker with the RAM. I still had my original 512 MB of RAM, so I stuck that in and decided if that would fix the sound. I turn on my computer, but the sound is always messed up. I decided to install all available updates, I had and that did the trick. When I turned on my computer, I noticed that my RAM went from 3.5 to 3.0 GB RAM. I was seriously mad and I did everything to get it back to the 3.5 GB of RAM. I went back to my computer and took the 512 MB RAM on it but no luck.

    Someone care to explain this?

Your BIOS is accessible outside of Windows. Its software on your motherboard. Restart your computer, and find the first screen that appears. It will usually give you a combination of keys to press to enter the "SETUP" or "Setting UP" or "BIOS". Most of the time, it's the DEL and F1 key, but it may vary depending on your system.

Once you get into the BIOS, go to "configuration/basic information ',"System Overview,"or a page that details what the computer sees hardware wise.»

If the 4 GB State, restart your computer and the response back.

I got it, it says I have 4 GB of RAM installed, but it is still only showing me 3.0 GB RAM. I was also noted that the lack of RAM 1 GB in my VRAM I guess. So I guess I'll be stuck with the 3.0 GB, thanks for you help. Oh and how can I fix my sound?

When I turn on my computer, my sound is all stuttery then when I open a specific program, the sound goes back to normal. And when I turn off this program, my sound will all stuttery again. The program is a game and I really want to solve this problem. No, it is not caused by the speakers, it is caused by the computer itself. Could my map its going to hurt? I only had this computer for 3 years. I'm starting to think that the RAM had something to do with this...
