  In December 2011, I bought a HP Officejet Pro 8600 all-in-One to replace an Officejet 6500 as my network printer home. The 6500 worked very well on my cable, but his screen did not, I tried some of the features offered by the 8600 and I got a good price on a new warehouse of BJ. I have the 8600 connected via ethernet (not wireless), with a static IP address. All my computers on the network are running Windows XP Pro SP3 and are up-to-date with Microsoft updates. The only way to restore connectivity is to uninstall the HP Officejet Pro 8600 device software basis of all computers, and then reinstall the printer.   After a lot of research and find the settings that I did not know that Windows XP offered, I found that the following appear to have solved the problem I've known - at least the printer is now operational for more than 48 hours without losing printing or scan connection. Here are the steps I used:

  1. Start Control Panel  connections network and Internet

  2. Choose "network connections."

  3. Right click on "connect to the Local network.

  4. Choose "Properties".

  5. In the top window is the name of the Ethernet computer connection port, select "Configure" next to this window

  6. Select the tab labeled 'Power Management'

  7. Uncheck the box "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

  8. Select the "Advanced" tab

  9. Select the entry "power saving Mode".

  10. If this entry is set to change 'On' to 'Off '.

  11. Select 'OK', and then close the windows that were opened

  I can scan my wireless printer unique pages, but for the life of me I can't understand how to scan multiple pages.   I read the other posts on other threads on by clicking on the sign (+) sign to the left of the display after scanning one page, but I don't have a (+) sign to click on.  Someone has this model of printer, that can help me?    Thanks in advance for your help.

  In addition, any way to speed up the scanning process?     My old printer could easily scan a 10 page document in time, that it takes to scan a single page.

  Assuming for now your printer to provide the "Document Scan" and the little "+" feature, you don't have to have the "Preview Scan" selected.

  If all else fails, you can try to use a different program to scan multiple pages into a single document.

  I don't have the same printer model - I can't comment properly on scan "slow".

  I use Windows 10, 64-bit and I have a wireless hp envy 5530 all in one printer on my network.

  I do not understand what "Scan to Computer" means... does that mean I can scan a web page and send it to my computer, it means scan a document and send it to my computer or that mean both?

  Scan of the computer means "scan a document and send it to my computer.

  You will need to install the FULL features software and activate it before you can use.

  How to scan to computer

  Once you have installed the software:

  1. click the printer (on your desktop) and it will bring up the HP printer Assistant.
  2. in the menu analyze, there is a 'manage Scan to Computer', click on that.
  3 make sure you have "Enable" Scan of the computer. Also, make sure that the tab "automatically start Scan of the computer when I connect Windows" is checked if you want to perpetuate this feature. (the following video will show you how)

  I have exactly the same problem as the last poster. You guys repaired my 6 month old Pavilion and in doing so, installed a new "BIOS" with the new internet adapter.   I have a HP Officejet Pro 8600 all in one. I've used it for almost a year and recently when I print on plain paper my doc over dating a turn on paper. The elbow is always in the same place, 2 1/2 "from the top of the page. The crumpled section is about 1/2 "in length. Impression of quality and all the rest is good.

  I printed a few pamphlets with this printer using heavy paper for brochure of gasoline that does not bend like my regular stock. Any ideas.

  IT IS SHAMEFUL! The printer is practically unusable!

  According to specifications, your computer is shipped with the HP MediaSmart WebCam software. I found another post on this forum that links to a Windows 7 32/64 bit download of this application.   Windows 7; Wireless network; Today, I installed my new e-all-in-one Officejet Pro 8600 wireless printer. When finished, I was able to print, I have created e-print, and the scanner works, but did not find what was once called the "Solutions Center HP" that I could click on choose scanning, check the ink supply, get 'Help' and so on.  A HP 8600 printer icon installed on the desktop, but when I clicked it, it was just a bunch of meaningless jibberish, but had no function. I went to 'Start', then HP and was able to somehow make a "Scan icon" to open.  I don't have the ability to implement "WEBPRINT", nor REGISTER MY PRODUCT and so on. In other words, the installation has not finished. I tried putting the CD back in, but no additional options were available except to reconfigure them, etc.  Thank you for your help.

  Welcome to the Forum of discussion Forum HP printer.

  Install the Photosmart software 7520 full functionality on your computer to the printer.

  General instructions to install the printer software

  • Open drivers HP & downloads
  • Enter your printer model information
  • Select your printer in the list of the 'results '.
  • Enter your operating system from the menu drop-down
  • Click NEXT and scroll down
  • Find the category driver - software product installation
  • Select the base driver, e-print, or a full features software
  • Save the *.exe installation package (s) on your computer

  The files will probably save in the "folder"downloads. "

  Next:

  • If it is available, you can download print and scan doctor and / or other programs of the category-utilities

  TIP:

  Install the utilities / tools first. bit installation packages are smaller in size

  • If you have control of "Admin", you can highlight the package and "double-click" to install it, otherwise just right-click, select run as administrator and install.

  At the bottom of the "HP Scan" menu, you'd like to put in place a shortcut customized for your scan options - the shortcut contains the parameters for the analysis you select and then appear at the bottom of the list of available scan options.

  Create Shortcut Wizard for the printer on your desktop:

  • Right click on a clear view of your desktop > new > shortcut
  • Select the location (command) for your new shortcut:
