Offline files very slow when it is online

Hello

I have a Dell laptop XPS L702X that I use as a desktop replacement.  Because sometimes, I travel with her I use offline files because it is a member of a Windows Server 2003 domain.  I synchronize my folder that is very large (approximately 69 GB).

Due to the size of my files offline, I recently moved my folder CSC of my C: drive which is SSD for my more big D: motor pin hard disk drive (I was running out of space on C :).  Because then I am experiencing navigation folders on my home folder, 1 or 2 minutes, long delays, but only when I'm online, which is a full-duplex connection of 1 GB to the field.

If I have mapped another player with the same proportion, it shows the same poor performance.  If I map a drive to the administrative share of the disk hard server and browse that car performance is great, as I expect.

I don't think that this has nothing to do with network settings because I have good access to work around.  What is - this on offline files which is the origin of this performance degradation?  Has it to do with the performance of the SSD against the disk hard traditional spindle motor?  This seems a little hard to believe.

Navigation of the D drive $ mapped is OK, but I think I'm missing out on something here...

Thanks in advance,

Steve Marak

    Hello Pierre,.

I suggest that you look at this article from Microsoft that can help solve a slow internet connection:
  • listener very slow when listener.log file reach the size 4G

client cannot connect to the instance, and has an error:
    ----------------------------------------------

    AMT-12571: TNS: packet writer failure
    AMT-12560: TNS: Protocol adapter error
    AMT-00530: Protocol adapter error
Windows 64-bit error: 54: unknown error

I restart the receiver, but it is very slow to boot completely.
I found that the listener.log file is size 4G, when I delete this file and restart receiver, the listener is normal.

If the log file has a 4G limited by oracle?

better in time you should clear the logs and keep it less than 4 GB.

  • I'm runinng Windows XP Home Edition 5.1 Service Pack 3 but my computer is very slow when loading files could you tell me about the software to speed things up please

My computer is very slow runinng when I'm checking my Email and sorting out when I delete the emails I don't want it seems to take more than five minutes to remove as it is very slow to load web pages from the Internet

    HI Bob,

Unless you use MSE and think the problem is caused by malware (which is possible, but not very likely given the much more likely reasons - however, if this is the case, after return and we will be happy to provide instructions on how to clean your system and check that this has been done correctly and completely) please repost it here for help on this issue: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-performance?page=1&tab=all&tm=1300700638376 where experts in the field are better qualified to help you.

    Good luck!

  • Firefox is very slow when you use RDP

Firefox is fast when you use Windows directly. But when you use RDP it is very slow. For example, empty new tab takes about 6 seconds to open. The RDP connection is fast and another response programs immediately (for example the same page navigation in IE is fast).
What is the problem with Firefox?

Could it be the graphics hardware acceleration?

You will need to probably restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.). On the remote system:

Orange Firefox button or classic menu Tools > Options > advanced

In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.

Then restart Firefox. Does make a difference?

  • Re: Camileo S10 - very slow when the SD card is in.

My Camileo S10 was working fine for months with my 8 GB ScanDisk Ultra II memory card.
Now, when I start the camera, it is very slow to start and operate (a few second delay for each operations).

When I remove the card SD and trun on the camera, it works fine.

    Is this a known issue?
    An idea for me?

    Thank you.

    Hello

For me, it looks like a problem with the SD card inserted.
I think you should try to format the card CD and it should check again.
If this will not help and you won't see a performance improvement you should replace the SD card and should try another.

  • 15 - ac151dx: wifi very slow when unplugged from charger

    Hello

I have a new laptop of HP 15-ac151dx. Right out of the box, I noticed that the company becomes exteremly slow when I unplug the charger.  As soon as I plug in the charger, the speed is very good.  It works fine on a wired connection with the charger plugged in or unplugged.

So far, I tried the following, and nothing worked:

    1. turn off the laptop, to reset the router, turn on laptop

    2. remove the checkmark beside: ALLOW the COMPUTER TO TURN THIS DEVICE OFF SAVE tab managemnt Realtek RTL8188EE wifi power adapter.  I also didi this on Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller.

    3. went in the settings of advanced and equal "battery power" parameter settings "plugged in."

    4. Rinse the DNS

    5 reset the TCP/IP stack

6 driver adapter wifi update to 2023.18.814.2015 to 2023.27.1230.2015

    7. update of Windows Ran

    8. check the BIOS for power management setting, but can't find anything

9 exchanged the laptop - always have the same question.

Are there other settings that can I can check?  Looks like a setting simple power management, I'm missing somewhere.

Thank you very much.  In fact, it's a driver problem.  I have done the following:

1 restore BIOS to factory settings

    2 uninstall the WLAN driver

    3. scan for hardware changes in the action menu in the Manager of devic

    4 reboot

5 HP Recovery Manager--> reinstall WLAN drivers

    6 reboot

Wellcome Toshiba ubuntu with every choice menu (games, administration, internet...) work very quickly when WiFi is okay and on and if you are in other cases, it works very, very slowly.

    Other cases, it means:
    -ubuntu stop you lan connections,
    - or are you somewhere without wifi connections

If you have already loaded programs that that program working normally, it is only the menu toshiba ubuntu that does not work properly. When you share a program to the Ubuntu menu, sometimes, you have a blank screen instead of work well

This problem occurs when you use the menu of ubuntu GUI written by toshiba, I think, because if you use ALT - F1, everything goes fast.

    Hello!

It is a known issue on Windows systems. If you n t use the WLAN and connect to the local network and you have active DHCP it will takes a lot of time on start up because the operating system tries to get an IP address from the DHCP server.

Try to assign a static IP address, and the problem should be solved.

  • Portege R500 boot very slow when wireless

    Hello

There was a post about it in April, but the only proposed solution was to create two distinct hardware profiles.
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=117662

The laptop is a model of ppr50e-04x048en.
In the following scenarios, it gives the indicated start-up speed:
-Switch physical wireless off, network cable connected - Normal
-Switch physical wireless off, network cable unplugged - Normal
-Physical wireless switch on, cable connected network - Normal
-Physical wireless switch on, network cable unplugged - very very slow
It's so slow that sometimes you don't get bored after 10 minutes of waiting

There must be a better solution than separate hardware profiles?

    > There must be a better solution than separate hardware profiles?
Don t think that there is a better solution, it was clearly explained in another view why the laptop does need more to start while the WiFi is enabled.
If the WiFi is on the phone looking for a possibility to start from the WLan or research for some settings that might be received by WLan.

On the other hand, you could try updating the BIOS and could check in the WLan card properties-> Advanced tab if there are some settings which could be disabled like Wake up option or similar.

  • PMC-GPIB with NOR-488 DDK very slow when sending the commands-GPIB

    Hello

I use a PMC-GPIB Board and the NOR-488DDK allows to develop a GPIB Interface with VxWorks. Already, it works correctly, but sending a GPIB command takes about 100 ms, which is very slow.

Are there opportunities to speed up data transfer?

    Hello again,

I found a solution to my problem! I realized that the command execution is related to the vxWorks system clock! Of course, this is done in the DDK (driver development kit).

The system clock is easily adjustable upper and then orders are shipped quickly.

    Thanks for your time

Most of the time, you can use the Task Manager to see which programs are hogging resources.  Make sure you click on tab the process, and then on the small button at the bottom left that says something like "show processes from all users".

In addition, switch to view... Select the columns entry and select other readings/o and i/o
You can sort the columns by clicking on the title - this way, you can control what is spking during closing.  Get the name of the process that is spking and we can start watching them.

  • The Gigashot A40FE mpg files are slow when played on PC

I recently bought the A40FE and well recorded video playback on the LCD is perfect, when I copy on my XP PC, or play directly from the hard drive of the A40FE, all plays back to slow, jerky and it wasn't there a 'noise' around the objects being focused on.
I formatted the drive, reset the camera, but still exactly the same. I tried on two other PCs, and when I navigate to the Gigashot, it blocks in terms of Windows Explorer. Tried to ImageMixer, foolishly, but it seems to get worse :(

Am I missing something really stupid here?

    Hello

The film is correctly displayed on the external LCD you but if you play it on your PC then the movie does not play correctly. Is this good?

I think you should test some different players. Try the small free tool called VLC player.
It plays most audio and video files and it s free!

In addition I recommend installing some codec packs.
I use the K-Lite Mega code pack that contains all the necessary video codecs.

Install it and check the quality of reading...

I hope that Super Antispyware has given you the opportunity to remove those things. Since your initial Malware scan came clean, it is likely that located SuperAntispyware cookies only track, which are odious, but generally not a threat from System.

It is possible that you have apps which unknown to you, that run automatically in the background whenever you start your program. It is good to check if they are legitimate and necessary to launch when you start your PC.

Start button, click on you. In the run box, type: msconfig.exe

A System Configuration tool runs. Go to the Startup tab. You will find a list of applications that are set to run every time your PC starts. If you recognize all of them, use Google to help identify their purpose. Many times, you can open the application that is in question and prevent the application from starting. For example, on my system, I see that Java runs once more a verification tool to update each time you start. In this case, I can set my preferences Java Panel, select Java and uncheck automatically search for updates.

I also use OpenOffice and it wants to run a startup of service to reduce the time that openoffice requires to open. I don't really want something constantly running in the background to save me a few seconds to open the application. Then I go to Google to find out where the switch is to disable this "feature".

If you have unwanted applications running in the background, it is best to either uninstall, our to disable the option that allows them to run at startup. Although you could definitely "uncheck" the application through msconfig.exe, it is essentially a tool of troubleshoouting and not intended for the struggle of the apps (even if you do).

You can always uncheck/check again on this list to see their impact when you then restart your PC.

Once you have verified that apps that are set to start, you can run Windows Task Manager and scroll elements in the process and Services tabs to see what is running. The Services tab can be pretty intimidating to investigate on (there is a lot of misinformation the ' net), so if you are unsure about the services listed, it is best to ask or to jump on this area.

  • Combustion chamber is very slow when switching between tabs, the legs more slowly, he gets, switching between the windows of Firefox is almost instantaneous.

In this case all that is display of each tab. For example, if I open it, say, 8 new tabs by default it takes about 5 seconds to switch between them, although all that they show are links to my sites top of page 9. I also noticed a new tab opening takes more time more I already opened. The problem is particularly well with the tabs. Navigation is not just slower than usual and as I said above, switching between Firefox Windows in not affected.

If it works in Mode safe mode and normal mode with all extensions (Firefox, Tools/menu key > Modules > Extensions) off and then try to find which extension is the cause by allowing an extension at a time until the problem reappears.

Close and restart Firefox after each change via * button '3-bar' menu > exit (Power button)

    • Windows: File > Exit
    • Mac: Firefox > quit Firefox
    • Linux: File > exit
  • Firefox is very slow when you use Facebook, and most of the time it can open positions 2-3 in the 'Newsfeed' instead of much more openness.

Today when I log in to Facebook through Firefox, it opens only 2 or 3 posts by the news feed (it happens very often, but not always). As I can remember, I've ever known such a problem in the past, with the exception of the rare and occasional accidents which were solved instantly. I am facing this problem for 5-6 months.

Whenever I face such a problem with Firefox, I log in to Facebook through Google Chrome to check if my internet connection works correctly and have found no such problem with Google Chrome. I also checked to see if this problem is caused by an update hidden applications or anti-virus automatic scan, but found nothing. I also tried "Refresh Firefox - discount to zero and settings modules" and uninstall and reinstall but the problem was not solved. All solutions, please?

Please make sure that there is not a problem with any acceleration addons or material by trying Safe Mode:
