Old Mac needs ID CS2

I'm an independent contractor, on a microscopic budget.

It's not remotely possible to upgrade my system: G4 / PPC / OSX 10.4.11

Photoshop and Illustrator CS2 / Quark 6.5

I am increasingly facing requests for the files to be created in InDesign and am currently forced to divert this work... the latest version of ID that my system can handle is CS2, and yet I told me that Adobe does not sell nor does support the CS2.

'Support' actually means 'activation '?

Is it possible to buy a copy of a third party and expect it to work at all?

Are there reliable sources to purchase such a package at a reduced cost?

There Amy other options (license transfer etc.)?

Are looking for don't no bootlegs or illegal used copies, but also can't afford to pay full retail for obsolete versions.

No need for advanced features, just a band-aid to accept their print jobs.

Thanks in advance.

Activation record typically carried out as part of the installation and are managed on the internet without incident, but you should be able to use the phone, too, if necessary. Registration through Service customer, activation has a special issue that you should be able to access from the activation dialog box.

  • Need to put in place an old Mac Mini and restore from a backup

I have a strange question.   My husband, who is quite old and disabled, a die of his old Mac Mini.  Well a friend gave us a 'new' old mini so he could get up and running, but I need to do two things.  One is I need to get all the programs they had on it because it's much too heavy for an old mini without intel.   I also need to keep things simple for the husband.   The second thing I have to do is restore all his tricks of the time Capsule.    The mini has the former user on that stuff and I would like to clear all that I am has it down to the setup of the wizard, I can have then take off all the data from the Capsule and put it in the mini.  Is there a way to do it?   Thank you

  • How do my photoshop (CS2) from my old mac to my new mac?

I have tried to get my cs2 from my old mac to my new mac and can not get it how

Big oops!  CS2 is only for PPC Macs from before 2005. If you have OS x 10.6.8 you can run under Rosetta, otherwise you may not install or use on an Intel based Mac with os x 10.7 or higher.

  • Acquisition of ID CS2 for old Mac - all conflicts?

    I'm broke.

I'm also stuck with my old Mac G4. It is maximally regarding upgrades.

I am looking to buy a copy of InDesign CS2 if only familiarize yourself with it and not lose more projects simply because I don't have this app.

I'm looking at one online that seems to be sealed ($200). What are the complications, if any, to buy something so old? If it is as described, is there something preventing it from working? This old APP requires registration? What Miss me?

Advice, including pricing or other ways to acquire ID CS2, is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

in this case, CS2 will not bad, it's a solid version, you learn the basics of InDesign and future collaborators can edit your work in any CS3, 4, 5, 6...

but it will be a problem if you send documents in both directions with CS5 and 6 (there is a solution to convert CS4 CS2 versions)

so, now, not so bad that I think that in your post of Christmas trees!

  • Old Mac. Need help

Hi, I am new to the Mac world. I found a very old mac Power Mac G4 the original owner took out the hard drive because of privacy. I got the good hard drive for the mac, and I am very confused because Apple won't let you install their software. I know it's true, but I want to install Windows only. In addition, the new hard drive, I bought so he didn't any what Mac OS or Windows. Everything works of Mac. Is there a possible way just to install Windows without any Mac OS? If I can run Mac OS, then how to install Windows on it?

    Thank you

    Hi Bob,

Sorry to say, no way to simply install Windows on a G4, your choice is OSX or Linux PPC.

  • Installation 10.11.6 El Capitan with 10.6.8 Snow Leopard on old Mac Pro 4.2 multiboot?

Looking for savvy here advice...  I have an old Mac Pro 4.2 (cheese grater) that runs Snow Leopard 10.6.8.  It is a wonderful workhorse machine, who served me tirelessly for many years.  It is obviously older and slower, but works very well.  I love 10.6.8.  If Apple ever updated the Mac Pro line (I know, probably not... sigh...), I'll buy one and replace this machine.  Until then, I keep doing this work.

This machine is a beast, has been upgraded with internal hard drives 1 TB three (he also got a couple internal HDs inherited from 750 and 500 MB used for storage).  I have also several external 1-4 to, hip, FW800 drives too.  A host of storage, of course, and should be a lot of options to start on several systems.

I am generally satisfied with 10.6.8 on this machine, although there are obvious limits to that.  I would get one or two operating systems newer on it, pick-and-choose between them according to the needs, but I absolutely want to/need to preserve the ability to initiate and run 10.6.8 systematically as my operating system on the day the day, at least for now.  Maybe I'll warm to one of the others on this machine eventually, but 10.6.8 must remain usable, install a newer OS on other readers may not nerve there.

On a year-and-a-half ago, I took a race to install 10.10.3 Yosemite on one of the internal disks.  This doesn't quite work.  I moved, sniffed Yosemite everywhere, don't really like it a lot and went to restart and him switch back to 10.6.8 for a bit.  Initially, it was impossible (from less than I expected, would be the same old process, I have always used, via system preferences > startup disk).  You can read the details of this experience here and more here if you are interested.  This latest attempt to get Yosemite on this machine was a very negative experience.  Yosemite is still there on an internal HD, but I tried not to boot on it since then.

Now I take another look at this.  What is the engine now, is that I want to update my iPad Mini 3 iOS 10.  But that (update of an iDevice iOS 10) requires iTunes 12.5.1.  And iTunes 12.5.1 requires Mac OS X 10.9.5 or newer - it won't work with 10.6.8.  I'm looking for my options.

Right now, I have three large internal HDs: HD #1, 2 # HD and HD #3, each 1 TB.

HD #1 has 10.10.3 Yosemite on this.  I started from this time and have not resumed since.

HD #2 has 10.6.8 Snow Leopard top.  This is my main operating system and startup of daily drive.

HD #3 is nothing special about it.

Although HD #1's Yosemite about that, I have only started from this disc once and hesitate to go back, at least until I can get a way easy and reliable to restart off HD #2.

I understand that I can also get 10.11.6 El Capitan.  I thought that installing on HD #3.  That sounds like a reasonable to add option, but again, I want to make sure it won't cause problems to switch back to start off HD #2 in Snow Leopard (such as installation of Yosemite on HD #1).

What is the best way for me to go about safely - preserve the option to start easily in 10.6.8 on HD #2?

    Thanks for the help!

If you start or restart now Option (Alt) key and calls the Startup Manager, you should be given the choice at the start of any boot disk OS X on any of the readers.

  • Clone of old mac to new mac

Can someone give me instructions step by step to clone my old mac to my new mac so it automatically recognizes all the devices (printer, Time Capsule, NAS, etc.) that made my old mac. In other words, I want my new Mac to work exactly like my old - except, of course that the new will be better and faster.

    Thank you.

the best way to approach the connection with 3 devices, is using the drivers for your new OS machines by developers. both systems can have differences between them and simply force the old system to the new system settings is a guarantee that they will work as you would like that.

Migration/time Machine Assistant can work for some of this, but if if fails, you will need to get the correct software for your new OS systems.

  • Can't access iTunes purchases with an old .mac account

    Hi all

I used to have a .mac account in the old days and I bought a number of songs on iTunes using this account. When they turned off the .mac addresses I've migrated to the new system (which I am using to write this post). I just tried to play one of these old tunes, and he said that I was not allowed to play. So I tried to enter the address of .mac using the iCloud and he says that the account has been locked and he would send me an e-mail. The only valid option seems to be the old .mac email address.

Is it possible to access the email message that they (probably) was sent on the old .mac email address?

The end of the game is to get into this account and re - authorize all my songs to my new account, but the first step is to get there in the first place.

@mac.com addresses have not stopped. I use mine to this day. @mac.com, @me.com and @icloud.com al e-mails, end up in your mailbox to the current iCloud email account.

What I suspect is happening in your case, is that you've changed, or rather, add a new account Apple ID. For load of reflow or authorize your purchases made with the former Apple ID, you need to log in iTunes Store using this code from Apple.

To check which was Apple ID used for the purchase of any article, read the file (cmd + I) information.

  • I should get my old Mac Book Pro refurbished

I'm getting a new Mac Book Pro, no question there. What should I do with my old Mac Book?  It is OS x 10.6.8 processor 2.4 Intel Dual Core 2, with 4 GB of memory.

I know he needs a serious upgrade OS and memory. Everything else seems to work very well. I thought I could get renovated at a great price and use it as a backup of the computer for lighter work.

  • How to open or convert the .avi file on old mac running OS.10.6.8?

How to open or convert the .avi file on the old mac running OS.10.6.8.  We tried downloading several conversion programs as well as programs that run .avi, but everyone's message could not be opened on the mac or require a fee.  Anyone able to fix it.  We have great audio video file we need to convert.

Try to use MPEG Streamclip; You can be told to install Perian or another component, or who does not open the AVI file. AVI is a container, not a format; no single component or codec will open all reviews, and some cannot be played or converted in Mac OS X.

  • Does capsule, full of old Mac, no place for the new Mac?

My previous MacBook Pro is in my time Machine backup, I upgraded to a new machine and transferred all my data and Time Machine made a backup.

But now he says it backs up impossible because there is not enough space - sound does not remove older backups as it should?

I could just erase the time Machine and start over with the new laptop but I want too just in case there was something I need the old!

When I go into the window of time Machine it only shows me the last 2 days - so I can't manually precedents on the old machine to free up space (this computer has been reformatted for sale)

How can I remove some of the backups from the previous machine to free up space? !!!

Even if you can find the old Mac backups... because it will take several hours to try to delete older backups manually, and after a few days of new backups, you will always have the part you need... you really only 3 realistic options here, listed from the most expensive on the bottom:

  • Apple Cinema Display with old Mac

Hello! I was wondering, I have an apple Cinema Display with the famous ADC video plug. I also have a couple of old Mac without a monitor, for example a performa 6360 Powermac 6100 and Macintosh iicx and Iisi. Y at - it a video adapter to use the movie with these old Mac screen? is this possible?

    Thanks in advance!

The main obstacle is that a screen ADC must get its power through an ADC port on the computer. The old Mac you list can only the power of their old school connectors.

    I remember this adapter:

be needed to power a monitor ADC to an ADC not Mac, but I would feel much better if another old graybeard archived to check my aging memory. You still need an adapter to convert the DVI on the adapter port 15 pin Apple old Mac. Some 6100 s required a special just HDI15-to-DB15 adapter to use a normal Apple display that would have been contemporary the 6100:
