Windows Media Player 11 lost all sounds (after a defrag?) Reinstalling does not solve. Impossible to uninstall before reinstalling (gives only a rellback from 11 to 11). Sound works fine on other programs.

    Hello KenLW,

Thank you for your message.  It does not sound like one or several files in Media Player have been corrupted, uninstall and reinstall should solve the problem.  Uninstall Windows Media Player 11 can be a difficult process.  Click HERE for instructions on how to uninstall WMP11.

  • Windows 8 times the device disconnect sound...

Windows 8 times the device disconnect sound, my screen goes black, then both the windows the device plug his and my monitor turns on again. All my windows open and then re sizes to the top left of the screen. This happens randomly as I work with the computer. I have a Dell Vostro 270 connected via a VGA cable to a Samsung S22B300. I checked the event logs and Device Manager. Everything seems good. Please help if you know what this may be.

Typically, this means two things: either the cable is loose, or the video driver broke down.  Usually if it's the driver, you would see that in the event where newspapers and maybe even a notification bubble near the clock when you see your desktop yet (something like "your display driver recovered").

Do you see something like that?

In addition, when the problem started to occur?

  • I have just updated to windows 10 and I have no sound, everything else works fine

I have no Audio, sounds or volume afte the update/upgrade of Windows 10. This is NOT the case yesterday when I don't have Windows 10 update/upgrade in my laptop Vaio from Sony. Everything works very well, is to take a mouse of logitech usb among other things. My Audio jack does not work for headphones will not do. I found an old usb headseat PS3 seems to work, according to this logic, a set of usb speakers would do the same thing. If you have a HD cable you can connect your laptop to an HDTV and use the TV speakers. What can I do to solve my audio problem?

Go to control panel > system and security > system and to the left, click on advanced system settings. Once there, go to the Advanced tab, and under performance, click settings. Then, click on the Advanced tab, and under virtual memory, click on change. Now, I did uncheck automatically manage it paging file for all readers size and check again, but if this does not work I heard uncheck automatically manage paging file for all readers size and selecting size made on order and set the initial size and maximum size to 3072 should solve the problem. I hope this helps!

  • W500 and Windows XP Professional x 64-emission sound

I managed to get all the installed drivers I need installed. As Lenovo does not officially support XP x 64, it has been rather difficult. I had a driver for the Conexant HD SmartAudio 221 card installed and Windows claims that it works correctly, but there is no active mixer device and so no sound. Any ideas?

    Found a working driver.

Several months ago my hard drive crashed and was replaced. Since then I was able to get my motherboard built in audio hardware soundfrom. News the Device Manager and speech, said everythinh works OK. The drivers are all to date. What's wrong? How should I do?

    Hi Joseph Hess,.

-What is the brand and model of your motherboard?

Method 1: I recommend you visit the manufacturer's website and check if there is updated for the chipset drivers and audio drivers.

If so, the same install and check if it helps.

You can also follow this step to do the same thing:

    a. double-click the type of device you want to update or change.

    b. right click on the device driver specific, you want to update or change.

    c. click put to update driver to open the Hardware Update Wizard. Follow the instructions in the wizard.

Method 2: Check if the sound card has been disabled in the Basic Input/Output system (BIOS).

Consult the manual to find out how the changes in the BIOS can be made.

NOTE: BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from configuration can resolved BIOS/CMOS settings. Changes to settings are at your own risk.
