old version asked if you wanted to start new session or continue when it crashes again version does not

I was forced to upgrade to the new 3.6.12 version. In the old version I had, if the program crashes or if I stopped deliberately Firefox in process with end task, stopping when I restarted Firefox a box would come asking me if I want to start a new session or go back to the old session. Well the default seems today with the new version, it will be back to where you were when it crashed or was interrupted through process and does not give you a choice. I searched tools several times and can not find something that will give me the option described above.

The thing is, I'm going to stop Firefox using end task in the process when I come across a site/page that opens a box asking me if I really want to leave the page, instead click on the pop-up box or a site that begins to appear windows in all directions.

Can someone direct me to where I can tell my browser to ask me if I want to start a new session when this happens? And please tell me why... whenever software is upgraded or new and improved, it always ends up take the choice?

Set the pref browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes to 0 on the about: config to get page the on: sessionrestore page immediately with the first reboot after a failure has occurred or the Task Manager was used for the closing of Firefox.

Which allows to deselect the tabs that you do not want to reopen, but will reopen the other tabs.
