  We have a very old application server run on W2K8 R2 stand-alone (no advertising).  We decide to migrate the server to new hardware.

  Freshly install us the operating system, create user accounts, and install the application on the new hardware.  To play safe, we intend to have a parallel run for 3-4 weeks.

• Cannot play DVD movies on due to licensing issues.

  My friend built me a computer and installed a Dvd inside player.  Unfortunately, when I put in the DVD videos, I can't view because of licensing issues.  I know that most other DVD readers can read the videos without these problems.  I think that my dvd drive is an ATAPI iHAS120 6.  Help, please.

  This is the message I get when I try to play the DVD.  "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with the digital copy between your DVD player and the video card protection decoder. Try to install a driver available for your video card.

  I think that these DVDs are protected by DRM, but they played on my sister's laptop.

  If so

• Audio and licensing issues

  I recorded a clip long using Sony PMW - EX1 in SD on location 1 hour and 50 minutes, exported the m2t format on external hard drive file, then imported to the pre Pro CS3 on my computer for editing.  I loaded the clip in the timeline to start to change and the first 30 minutes of audio played normally, then it started during the early.  The last 30 minutes. the audio was lost.  1 hours and 50 minutes video was normal.  There is nothing wrong with the clip-it normally plays in Nero Show and plays normally in place.  Has happened to me before and I Redid the clip and everything was fine.  This cannot be redone. .

  I tried to do a new preferences file No. aid.  I then reinstalled Pre Pro-aucune help.  I tried to reload the clip several times-no help.  I reinstalled Pre Pro new-oops-now my license has stopped working.  I tried several times to phone support, and I tried the web support.  Phone support said they'd call me back - they do not have.  Web site offered for download and following the steps of an article of its base of knowledge (KB401528).  I did and it did not work.  When I went back to article the message says that this article does not exist.  Now, there is a problem with the site that will not let me submit the messages they disappear and are not received.  It seems that all modes of communication with technical support are blocked.

  I'm really frustrated with Adobe Support.  I see a letter explaining there are problems with tech support-not a joke.  Anyone out there have any suggestions?  It is a commercial project with very quickly approaching - any suggestions would be appreciated.  First issue is license issue resolved because Pre Pro will not open.  Also need to fix audio problem.  Thanks - Dorian

  The audio problem is weird. Perhaps it is caused by the lack of space on your C: drive, but he is just guessing. Make sure to leave enough time PR conform the audio before you start editing.

  

• vSphere 4.1 5 upgrade and licensing issues

  I currently have two server PowerEdge 2900. They each have two processors to 4 cores of each and 24 GB of RAM. Each server has a license in advance of vSphere 4 for 2 physical processors (1-12 cores). I also have vCenter 4 Foundation installed and licensed.

  I am looking to buy a new PowerEdge 620 with 2 processors, 8 cores each, and 128 GB of RAM.

  I want to do the following.

  1) upgrade the vCenter 4 to 5 license. Upgrade 2 CPUs with a value of 4 advance to 5 Enterprise vSphere vSphere licenses.

  2) update my installation of vCenter vCenter 4 5.

  (3) install ESXi 5 on new server PowerEdge 620.

  (4) migrate all virtual machines (guests) to a PowerEdge 2900 server to the new server 620.

  (5) Server Decomission the 2900 now blank.

  (6) keep the other server 2900 HA around and the low priority. VMs (I'm undecided as to whether I should upgrade to ESXi 5 on this one).

  Changes to licenses of 4 to 5 seems like a maze, but according to my calculations, 2 processors of licence 4 set to upgrade to 5, should give me enough for 2 CPUs and 128 GB of vRAM on the 620. It's my first time going through an upgrade like this, so I was hoping that someone with more experience could weigh in on this plan. I'm completely missing something, and he will be missed horribly? Any extra info / advice is appreciated.

  Don't worry about this. Only old license on the portal keys will be disabled when you upgrade the key to v5. There is no license on your systems check, which will disable the host or vCenter Server.

  PS: Although there is no verification of the license, it is your responsibility to ensure that the old and the new licenses are not used simultaneously. It would be a violation of the EULA.

• Error code 61499 after update license (FPGA)

  I am a fairly experienced user of FPGA module.  I have LabVIEW 2009 installed (version 9.0.0) including the FPGA on XP 32-bit module.  Everything worked well and I had a project specific FPGA that had been built and run in the last month or so.

  In the meantime, the license has expired, so I had to update the license.  After update of the license, I made a trivial change in VI (default values has changed some entries to the front) and tried to compile and run.

  This has generated the error-61499, with additional information:

  Error starting compile step: make sure that a compatible version of Xilinx tools is installed in the location specified in the Setup from LabVIEW.

  I looked after error-61499 in LabVIEW FPGA and a few other positions.  I checked the path of compilation of LabVIEW FPGA registry keys and it seems fine (C:\NIFPGA2009\Xilinx\ISE).  This directory exists and is the right size (3.74 GB).  A temporary directory is created in C:\NIFPGA2009\srvrTmp\localhost.  I searched the pearl58.dll file but couldn't find it.

  When I look at the license installed recently and the license has expired in the License Manager NOR, I see no difference between the two other than the expiration date.

  Summary: I had a working facility and the project, updated the license file and now get error-61499.

  With the help of an Application engineer, I tried two things.

  First of all, I tried to 'fix' the FPGA Module through the "Add or remove programs" utility in Control Panel.  That had no effect.

  Then, I downloaded and installed NOR-RIO 3.3.0 of the support zone, drivers and updates.  That solved the problem!

  So, for someone who has a similar problem in the future, try to reinstall the driver OR RIO.

  I am new and far from being a frequent user of adobe After Effects tools. I have a single license of Photoshop CS6, which I use also 3 - 4 times per year.

  Pay one (to my very high opinion) a monthly fee for such low use is crazy. I'm absolutely willing to pay for usage, but according to my use... Is there a solution for all those people who use adobe software every now and then? A license for a month for example? A single charge?

  Working with subscriptions simply excludes a large number of potential customers who cannot afford or cannot justify the subscription plans available...

  When you enter the serial number don't see you any error message? If Yes, please attach a screenshot of it: FAQ: how to capture and after a video screen or blow?

  Recently, I noticed that I couldn't do something productive in vCenter: power on, power off, change settings, almost anything.  Still works fine by directly striking the hypervisors.  After you dig and dig, I noticed - in the web client, rather than the thick client - that we have exceeded the "VMware vSphere Essentials 5 (vRAM)" license of 893150%.  Not a typing error!  He said that we have bought 0.01 GB capacity and use 44 GB right now.  Each host has 64 GB of RAM and Essentials is supposed to be allowed for 192 GB, or so I understand it.

  No use of account something designed to make the upgrade without pain by copying the software everywhere... will leave you with something more or less broken. Reinstall and configure properly takes time, but are necessary.

  The basic 'how' is ' imagine that you bought just for the first time. After that it works, turn off on the old system to avoid future pain.

  I do not know if someone has views on the appropriateness of using migration for other purposes. I tend to say, just reinstall, copy data, again put in place.

• VSphere licensing issue 5

  My company currently has Standard licenses and company. With the new structure of vRAM, a combination of these licenses can be used within the same group? For example 1 Enterprise license in the same cluster as two Standard licenses?  Would have the right to work to be 64 companies and 64 (2) standards (assuming that one socket) for a total of 128 vRam usable? I know that this is not recommended with DRS and everything, but that's what we have for one of our small groups.

  rights of different versions of ESX vRAM cannot be grouped together. Only the same versions can be pooled.

  In your example you have 128 GB of vRAM total right, however, you will have 2 separate 'Islands' of law of vRAM. 64 GB for standard 1 license and 64 GB for standard 2 licenses. The company licenses would be 1 group and licensing standards would create another group. And it goes without saying that hosts licensed with the license of the company are the only hosts that would get the enterprise features.

• Acrobat 9 - upgrade of computer OS from Windows XP to 7 - licensing issues?

  I have a laptop Lenovo that came with Win XP and Acrobat 9 Standard pre-installed, but they gave me the Acrobat CD with product key on the back.   So after I wipe the HD and insall a new version of the OEM SP1 of Win7, can I just install the old CD Acrobat by using the product key, or I'll have the license re-installation problems? -JClarkW
