    Christopher,

    Sorry, there is nothing for Mozilla to 'fix', the new UI Australis works as expected. I'm not satisfied with these changes, as a number of talented developers who have spent a lot of time creating extensions to correct that some of us don't like the new UI.

    This door extension on most of the changes in the new user interface, and what it does not there can be an extension separated for that, too.

    https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/

    To meet these specific issues that you mentioned in your first posting, the menu bar is not really necessary to have on the screen all the time. If you hid it, you can press Alt to only show. In addition, many of the main menus on the menu bar are available from the button Menu to open '3-bar "; something new for the user is to become familiar with.

    It is always possible to personalize then move buttons to toolbar on the Menu bar, if you want to display the Menu Bar all the time.

    The menu bar and address bar have always been distinct by default, but unfortunately the ability to "Customize" the address bar (on which the address bar is a part of) has been considerably limited compared to previous versions of Firefox.

    Regarding the location of the 'tabs band', he called "The tabs at the top" and was already the default for some versions of Firefox. This Museum is the hidden preference (browser.tabs.onTop) , which allowed the user to turn off this preference.

    These two extensions add this pref in versions of Firefox 29 +:

    https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/addon/tabs-on-bottom/

    https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/addon/fdgueux-tabs-on-bottom/

    Just as the Restorer of classic theme, but without the other proposed changes to the CTR.

    In closing, Mozilla has made studies on how Firefox users using Firefox, and how they have changed the Firefox; the results showed that a minority of users changed anything about Firefox. And a super minority of users of Firefox went as far to change the user interface, like the poster in this thread we're talking.

    I am part of this "great minority", I tend to 'customize the hell' of Firefox. And I'm working on a solution to many changes, while avoiding the use of extensions when possible; Although my solutions do not involve change "Tabs at the top", which is a change, I welcomed in Firefox 4.0.

  • How can I configure the menu bar headings?

    I'm running on XP. I don't have the titles of menu bar: file, editing, display, history, tools, and help at the top of the page. I "rocked" the toolbar, but nothing appears. I tried to query the knowledge base, nothing helps. Can anyone help?

    Make sure that you run not Firefox mode full screen (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: Ctrl + Shift + F).

    Make sure the toolbars as the menu bar and the toolbar Navigation tools and bookmarks toolbar are visible:

    • Firefox > Options
    • "View > toolbars" (press F10 to display a hidden menu bar)
  • The size of the menu bar

    I am doing some testing with the functions of the Parent/child window in Windows.  At this point, just trying to see what I can do and see I can perform some basic window using manipulations, and then I'll do it in a more formal tool.  One of the things I'm trying to do is to move a child window in a parent window.  It works fine using the MoveWindow User32.dll call, the only thing I noticed however is that when I put to go to X = 0 and Y = 0, it will enter in the top left corner of the parent window, but it will be on the top of the menu bar and toolbar of LabVIEW, if it is planned.

    I think it is because Windows is conserned it is the upper left corner of the window.  I want to do is not allow to move the window so far, so I would have some sort of offset cannot move the window this property if the toolbar or the bar menu is displayed in the VI.  The toolbar is not much because it takes a constant size (right now I find the works of 24 PX), but the menu bar may vary depending on the font and may even be dependent on the operating system.  So is it possible to know the size in pixels of the menu bar?  Or another possibility is at - it another way to know where the 0,0 location in LabVIEW.

    Attatched is a small example that shows what I mean.  It will insert the notebook in the VI to 0.0, but it will be on the top of the toolbar and the menu bar.  Is it possible to know the size of the menu bar, so I can have a lag so 0,0 fall below these UI elements?

    If vi scripting is acceptable, you can get the Property of Rect Bounds total of your component and use the value 'Top '.

  • Slide show under the menu bar, help please

    Hi again,

    I need help from members of the community awesome Adobe once again, good news, is that I actually have an example to show this time to make it easier to answer. I recently started a new page for the company I work with, and there is a change in the menu bar and a slide show I've wanted to do for a long time, maybe even the Twitter ticker bar if somebody wants to cover in this discussion.

    First of all, the link: http://restorationacpc.com/

    The menu bar, as you can see, the Red thing moving across the top of the screen with the tabs menu on it as home, about us, ect. ect. For some reason, that he travels out of the page, as I planned to do, he stops just short and you can see the background of the page to the left and to the right of the bar, which is the smallest issue that I encounter here.

    The biggest problem with the menu bar I want difficulty is that logo Showcase D & B push the slide downwards, and while that seems not necessarily bad, I would like to again for the slide show to sit under the logo with the logo shining on the top of the slide show.

    Finally, something small and optional to hit for anyone who wants to solve, y at - there a way for me to have the Ticker Twitter bar to the top at the top of the site to sit ON top of the logo d & b and against the Red menu bar? I would like for the Twitter's Ticker bar to look like it is part of the bar menu if possible.

    As always, any help is greatly appreciated!

    For the slide show to push up:

    . scmenu in your CSS (line 102) file:

    Add:

    position: relative;

    I see that you already have z-index. But z-index will not work without reference to a position.

    . displaywrap (line 53 of your CSS):

    Add:

    position: relative;

    top:-56px;

    z-index: 1;

    Which should push the slide show for you under the logo.

    Your page margins are not reset to 0 - that is why you see to the left and to the right area.

    Line 58 of style.css, body - add this:

    margin: 0;

    padding: 0;

    This will reset your margin of body and padding to 0. For anything that requires filling, you can define a substitution within its own class or id.

    For Twitter bar, if you push closer to the menu, what will you do on your trip button "hide"?

    On a sidenote, I've noticed a lot of faulty code:

    headstuff class ="twoColLiqLtHdr" >. "

    scmenu class ="twoColLiqLtHdr" >. "

    tab class ="twoColLiqLtHdr" >. "

    I think you did your tags! You can stick to the definitions standard div... .

    Line 24 of HTML where you set your jQuery script tag is missing a closing >. Fix this.

    Line 138 of HTML:

    <>#">Tag

    Invalid tag.

    Run your code by http://validator.w3.org/, check & fix all the errors first.

  • Firefox on the laptop of my wife lost the black bar that displays maps, Gmail etc. Now at the top of the screen there is an empty bar, triple height, with just the Google search box entry. How can I get that back? Or is it a question for Google?

    When I open Firefox there is a black bar, sometimes vertical, sometimes horizontal, in the upper part, with links to maps, Gmail etc. When I opened Gmail the same links are listed at the top of the screen, just under the tabs. In my wife's cell phone, it appears in the Firefox splash screen, but not in the form of Gmail. In the top of the screen is an extra-large gray bar with just one Google search box entry. Is this a problem of Firefox or Google?

    She has XP Home SP3 and Firefox 9

  • Why the menu bar menus cannot be moved to another toolbar?

    Hello

    In previous versions of Firefox, I used to move all the items of the menu bar navigation bar.

    But now that the tabs can be at the top of the window, which saves a useless space (the guys great work there), I hide the menu bar to use (and use the Firefox button).

    Since I can't find all the options that I used to find in the menus in the Firefox button (it has less detail and I have an additional module - ScrapBook - added a menu for traditional menus), I tried to move the navigation bar menus, so I can use them both at the same time. It seems that I can't move the menus anywhere in the menu bar. Why? I see no reason for the menus don't not have to be mobile as the other elements.

    This would give an opportunity to use old (and huge) menus and the new button at the same time.

    Thank you.

    Tagish said: I do not see an image in your last post, so I guess that you have changed from that of the ' 29/11/13 12:47 ' post.

    Answer: This is the image that I was referencing.

    Here's a broad overview of the Australis in its current form (there is little information that we are almost half a year of release and the release date can always be pushed if necessary) - https://blog.mozilla.org/ux/2013/11/australis-is-landing-in-firefox-nightly

    To download Australis - https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-ux/

    • Set up a separate profile for each version of Firefox including Australis to avoid damage to your profile-

    Don't forget that Australis is in pre-alpha, is not intended for the average user, for purposes of testing only at this point, is not completely stable and safe for daily use and is subject to change on a daily basis.

    Remember that anything, including the answers that I gave you earlier in this post and this post below this post (so that should happen) is subject to change, because the developers your feedback and if they decide to make a change.

    I suggest that you expect the Australis interface is closer to release to specific questions; Maybe wait for it either in the Aurora channel in a few weeks, then download and install it and use the Firefox Help menu > submit your comments to send feedback to the developers. Will NOT respond to your comments, but they can read them.

    1. The activity indicator is no longer available. Maybe an add-on will be developed later.
    2. Moving of House provided, download and bookmark combined this bookmarks / page display is possible and that they can be moved to the left of the URL/address bar. It seems that the button bar-3 (with customizable content by the user) is NOT mobile and can NOT be hidden. Note that the bookmark bookmarks button / display the page is currently "twinned" and cannot be moved as a unit.
    3. URL/address bar and the search bar may NOT currently be removed or hidden. In fact, the Navigation toolbar is more may be hidden. It is my understanding that the URL/address bar is now a single unit which includes the Go/Stop/Reload button and Back/Forward button and components Go/Stop/Reload button and Back/Forward button cannot be separated from the URL/address bar. There has been a lot of questions on the forum where users have hidden or deleted these articles and it causes huge problems for them.
    4. Read carefully, as I've included in one of my previous posts. Currently the default installation of Australis places the Menu bar at the left end of the title bar of the windows with the minimize mazimize, close of the buttons on the right side of the title bar. The menu bar is NOT currently but mobile can be turned off and temporarily displayed by pressing ALT or F10 in Windows. The Menu bar can be replaced using the add-on classic theme restaurant (click on the link where it is mentioned in a previous post above) to display the Firefox button. It is supposed to display the Firefox button in the title bar, but he shows currently below the title bar, taking a vertical line of the space. Currently the bar menu, when poster takes a bit more pixels vertically it needs; I hope that will be fixed.
    5. Currently, the default installation shows the menu bar (where the left side of the Windows title bar was previously), tabs, and the Navigation toolbar.

    Some add-ons will probably grow to allow users to modify some, but not all, changes to the interface. Restorer of classic theme has already been mentioned above, and I used it to change the look of my working version of installed 28.0a1 Australis.

    Let's please wait and see what develops rather guessing what might happen, or make decisions based on the current pre-alpha of Australis.
