  Information problem: whenever I'm viewing in full screen and I change the volume, fullscreen application is minimized and the desktop with pop-up windows volume level indicator

  For example: I watch a video in full screen and decide the volume is too low or high. I use the remote control supplied with the PC or the volume above the keyboard slider. Setting the volume level, the movie gets completely minimized and the desktop. Soon after, the volume level indicator appears on the screen. I then have to click on a program to open, and then press the button full screen again... Is it possible that I can disable the process and adjust volume without changing the display?

  The only way to avoid this is to uninstall HP MediaSmart SmartMenu (listed in programs and features) - this is the utility that is responsible for the OSD volume which in turn, reduces to a minimum the current screen.

• HP Pavilion dv7-3170ez: volume indicator not showing when the volume control

  I own a Pavilion dv7-3170ez and when I change the volume using the slider button in the volume on top of the keyboard, the volume is adjusted accordingly, but no volume indicator appears on the display.

  Previously, when you adjust the volume, a speaker icon with a cursor jumped in the middle of the screen showing the current volume level.

  I use Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows Update and HP update shows that I have the latest version of the software. Also, I have the latest version of the BIOS installed.

  Note: the touch buttons on top (volume, speaker and enable wireless, etc) stopped working a few days after the disappearance of the sound meter, I have fixed that by connecting battery power and disconnectiong for awhile. However, the indicator is still not displayed. Don't know if this is related (I guess not).

  The Volume OSD is a HP MediaSmart Menu function. He has to load at startup. To do this, go to msconfig and make sure that it is enabled under the Startup tab...

  On model previous laptop (Satellite P500) there is an option in the BIOS to disable the beep of the volume control buttons.

  You should find it in the BIOS-Advanced-Online System Configuration online. There is an option called beep that you can disable.

  Try this:

  In the run box type: regedit, click OK
  Navigate to:

  HKEY_CURRENT_USER
  \SOFTWARE
  \Microsoft
  \Windows
  \CurrentVersion
  \Explorer
  \TrayNotify

  Right-click on icon stream, click on remove, restart your computer.
  The icon stream all will return.
  This works on most of the configurations.
  You may need to do a few times.

  If you use the GET method to send the search form, change the
  conditional statement like this:

  If (isset($_GET['search'])) & $totalRows_rs_searchresults == 0)

  Change the value of 'search' for the name of the field used to
  filter the results. If you use the POST method, use instead of $_POST
  from $_GET.
