On startup, I get the message: Please wait while Wilndows configure installation package 'Destination' Destinations.msi.

Original title: Windows Installer

Whenever I reboot Windows Vista Home Premium, I get the following events:

Windows Installer opens and then I get the following

Please wait while Wilndows configure installation package 'Destination' Destinations.msi.  I have no idea of what is Destinations.msi and that you have never installed such a program.  He asks me to put in the cd disk that comes with the program.

Any suggestions on how to stop this very annoying interference every time I restart my computer.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions and help.  HankL

Hello

Method 1.
Let us run Disk Cleanup and then reregister the Windows Installer service and check.
Stage I.
a. open Disk Cleanup by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type and then disk cleanup in the list of results, click Disk Cleanup.
b. in the drives list, click the drive you want to clean, and then click OK.
(c) in the dialog box disk cleanup, on the Disk Cleanup tab, select the check boxes for the types of files that you want to remove, and then click OK.
d. in the message that appears, click on delete files.

Stage II.
Unregister Windows Installer and then reregister Windows Installer. To do this, follow these steps:
a. in the menu 'Start', click on ' execute:.»
b. in the "Open" box type "msiexec /unreg" and then press ENTER.
c. on the menu 'Start', click 'run '.
d. in the "Open" box type "msiexec/regserver" and then press ENTER.

Method 2.
At startup, there is a request pending to be updated or installed. We can perform the boot minimum troubleshooting to find this application.
See the article below for instructions on how to start your computer in a clean boot state.

I hope this helps.
