Once read / open once the PDF files?

Fellow Forum members,

Is it possible to fake a PDF file so that it only opens once so that it can read only once? And then after that it becomes locked.

Can be done using a plugin?  Or an online service?  Or by any means, I'm not becuause I don't know?   Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The answer today is exactly the same as two years ago.

The format PDF itself and Acrobat provide no native ability / of reading once / open only once . There is just no such capacity not specified in ISO 32000-2 PDF 2.0 to specification, either for something like that.

The request is for very specific functions of DRM (document rights management). PDF allows third-party DRM functionality. Adobe has provided such a feature with its LiveCycle server products. There are of other, third-party DRM products that can work with Acrobat/Reader as well. they are not free or even necessarily inexpensive.

Print my pdf files is no longer. After pressing PRINT the 'Print to File' window pops up and I have to press SAVE under to go to the next step. Once the pdf file is saved it is therefore more a pdf but a PRN file. An error message appears when I try to print the PRN file. I need to be able to print my original pdf files. Please notify.

Looks like you somehow accidentally active the option print to file in the Advanced Options print dialogue. Uncheck that and this problem should go away.

  • PDF file too large to email.  How can I reduce the size of the file once the PDF file is saved?

My pdf file is too large to email.  How can I reduce the size of the file once the PDF file is saved?

Emailing is not the best way to share PDF files, especially if they are large. Transfer to one of the free services such as Dropbox and send the URL of the file.

  • Change the default e-mail address to send a pdf of the emails once the pdf file created

My email address is to send the email with the newly created pdf file. How can I change the address to my primary e-mail address?

Main e-mail address is [email protected]

Change the accounts that you have configured in Edit - Preferences - mail accounts.

  • How can I change the view of the opening of the PDF file

When I open a PDF file, it is always full width of screen and very big, more than 250%.    I would like to open a full page

I know how subsequently change the size on the screen but have not been able to find any type of default settings box that would allow me to change the appearance of the initial screen. Y at - it a box of defaults somewhere?

I found that the answer is to use the edition/preferences. The toolbar (file/Edit/view/window/help) was not present in the screens, I was looking at which was the reason for which I could find no way to change things, fortunately it is available on the other screens of adobe so I can change things there and the changes apply as well in the screens where I had the problem.

So my problem is now solved

  • Click on the box that allows to open the pdf file problem

I want to give learners the opportunity to open a pdf file with additional information, a link to a click box. I want learners must be able to close on the pdf and return to the same screen in the lesson when they end to read the pdf. Currently, it behaves not as I expected.

I put the box click on the help link "on success, open URL or pdf ' and selected attributes 'New',"Keep playing the project"."  I have been using the various preview modes to test the features and find that it works as expected; Is that a second window opens with the pdf file that can be closed, leaving the main screen not affected. In the browser HTML mode puts a new tab which I can get back to the main lesson. I don't like that option as well.

    We are now my questions:

    • Is there a way to display the secondary file as an independent rather than a tab pdf file, as it does in preview mode, "from this landslide"?
    • Also, is there a way to stay on this slide parent once I have returned, then reopen the secondary window even if I want to? Currently, if I try, I'm transferring to next slide rather than the secondary window opens again.

    Thanks for your help.

Thank you Rick. I'll fix the first issue. I'm sorry to hear that I can't do

what I want by the second issue but can live with it.

  • Clicking on pdf in Windows opens Adobe but not the pdf file

I know it sounds like a minor annoyance, but it is a problem with Acrobat 11 in my main image. QA sign on my image until this is resolved. When my users launch a pdf from their local machine for the first time Acrobat opens but the pdf file does not work. Just close Acrobat and clicking on the pdf file again resolves the problem. These seems to be just a first question. Someone has any idea how to solve this problem?

It is windows 7 x 64 with Adobe Acrobat Standard XI.

Working with AA 11.0.0, or did you update? The updates may resolve the problem if they were not made, particularly on a 64-bit computer.

  • Download the PDF file in mode full screen

How to download a PDF file to view it full screen in Adobe Acrobat Reader 11?

On my Windows 7 computer using IE 11, I can do first passage in full screen on the page with the download link.

    See http://www.davispicturesandpoems.co.UK/pictures/9627909.html

Then I click on the download link. When the PDF downloads in a new window using CTRL + L. The images in the PDF file now display without no title bar - like I need (this can be displayed by moving the slider to the top of the screen).

My problem is that when I tried this on the computer of my daughter who also use IE 11 and Windows 7, the title bar was always available (I don't know which version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, she installed).

Is what I do make sense?

And why two computers behave differently?

    Help appreciated.

    David

    Hi davwilli,

I can see in the screenshot above, you open the PDF in internet explore and not in the Adobe Reader software.

So, I would recommend you right click on the download link on the Web page you have above comment and choose the option "save target under" and then once the pdf file is downloaded and saved on your system, you can open it in Adobe Reader and then use the option full screen.

    Kind regards

  • Does not check a word in the pdf file. Using Windows 7

As I have used Acrobat reader to view the PDF files for the years.  I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 from XP.  I tried to search a PDF file to a Word and it always happens with none found even if I search for a word that appears in the document, that I'm looking.  Any advice?

    Kind regards

Just FYI: scanned images which contain text can be converted into text documents real using the recognition of characters (OCR) in Acrobat (but not drive).

The pdf file is sync with my account, I'm not able to open the latest version of the pdf file now.

Any idea to restore to the last edit version?

    Hello

Would like to inform that after that change the document on the ipad, if we go back to the homepage of the implementation of the changes would save it automatically. There is no possible way to restore the changes.

Therefore, in this case you will need to recreate the document.

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader App for Iphone is not open attachments in the PDF file - help

On my i-phone, I am trying to access the PDF files (via a browser App, I tried Safari, Firefox, Chrome) because the files are hosted in a cloud such as Salesforce or Google Drive environment.  These files have been created with e-mails, most having parts attached (Word, Excel, PDF) by using a component software add-in Outlook, Sperry Software "Save as PDF".  Emails that all are saved as PDF with attachments to email that is automatically attached to the new PDF and stay of attachments in their original format.  This PDF file is then transferred to the cloud and is easily accessible from the desktop computer using Firefox with a few setting tweaks. (the i-phone of Firefox application does not have access to the same personalization as the desktop browser).

INSIDE THE PDF attachments are not visible in any of the browsers, but from the browser, I choose "open in...» "Adobe Acrobat Reader, the attachments are visible and they have their correct designation of format and associated label, but they will not open, even NOT the attachments that are PDF files?

Help, how to open these attachments?

    Hi davidk31772464,

We just released Acrobat Reader for iPhone and iPad version 16.05.18 on May 6, 2016.

This version includes the fix for the problem of attachments that you said earlier.

Would you please try it and let us know if it works for you?

    Thank you!

  • I have an annual subscription to Adobe export in PDF, but my computer died and I am setting up a new computer. I also need to download Adobe Reader or Acrobat to download and open the PDF files?

I export to PDF, but can't seem to download and open the PDF files. I need to download something?

    Hi Lisa,

To download PDF files, you have nothing else except a web browser.
However, to open the pdf file that is downloaded, you certainly need to download Acrobat Reader: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

    Kind regards

    Rahul

  • Acrobat Reader DC works fine and opens a PDF file without problem - until I have a word document open as well-, then the PDF file crashes. I can't open a PDF file, a word document is also open.

For troubleshooting, you can disable the Protected Mode (https://helpx.adobe.com/reader/using/protected-mode-windows.html#id_94783) and see if that solves the problem. If the problem persists, please re-enable the Protected Mode to improve safety.
