Hello, in case the plugin disappeared after you have updated firefox to version 21 please try this: enter Subject: config in the bar firefox address (confirm the message information where it appears) & search for the preference named plugins.load_appdir_plugins. Double-click it and change its value to true (a restart of the browser may be needed later for the change to take effect).

  • A friend's XP user and in a care home for now & about to use a "dongle" Mi-Fi for its banking services

    Hello

How to secure my friend uses the Windows XP for its banking services while she is in a nursing home? (This could be short term or permanent, unknown still.) She has not used the Toshiba laptop to come to 6 months. I don't know if it uses Norton or MacAfee, but it is certainly one of those who, for the security of the computer or if it is still up-to-date. She madeall her banking online as she was unable to leave the House for 3 years before its passage from 4 months in the hospital. The social worker arranged so that she could 'buy' a dongle MI-fi of 3G to use to access the internet (the social worker did not know that was what she had bought) so she can pay for her care. He has not been in place, but that nobody had heard of a MI-Fi, but I received a lot of help on that my service provider forum on wide band/phone who understand a little better now. Any suggestion security would be very welcome.

The laptop is still loaded up during his stay in the hospital and used it for about an hour when it came out in April only to be re-admitted 7 hours later due to a fall.

Your friend probably should buy a device for 'mobile broadband' rather than a 'MiFi'-, but your description of "MiFi dongle" suggests that it is perhaps what she actually still.

A MiFi device is a wireless router that connects to the Internet via cell phone.  See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MiFi because it creates a wifi "hotspot" anyone with wifi capability can connect to it unless it is configured with a strong password WPA2.  Most of MiFi devices must support WPA2, but computer XP your friend may or may not.  If your friend's computer does not support WPA2, use WPA.  Do not use WEP and never set up an unsecured wireless connection.

The alternative to a MiFi device is a mobile broadband that connects directly to the computer with the USB and acts as a direct connection to the Internet via the cell phone network.  See, for example, http://store.virginmedia.com/virgin-media-mobile/mobile-broadband/mobile-broadband.html

Mobile broadband is more secure than MiFi because it does not use a wireless connection.  This may seem a little confusing, because it is, of course, wireless, but in terms of connections of the computer, "wireless" means a particular technology.  The distinction is similar to a 'wireless phone' that you can run on your home but needs to be to have a "borne" connected to your ordinary phone wire and a 'mobile' (what we call 'mobile phone' to the United States) telephone that connects wireless everywhere.

As much as the computer itself is concerned, your friend probably evolve into a laptop with Windows 7 or Windows 8.  I understand that it is an additional expense, but Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft and will make it more vulnerable to attack no matter how it is connected to the Internet.

  • RV82 Dual WAN and online banking. Packages of two IP addresses

    Hi all

I have a set RV082 in place with two different ISPS (load balancing). Some time ago, users began to experience problems with online banking. It seems that the banking system set up more than a 'channel' to/from the end user and that bank systems won't accept that the packets come from 2 different public IP. I solved this by linking all HTTPS traffic to WAN1.

Is this a good solution or is there a better way to deal with this? I'm afraid that it will be 'imbalance' my network as many services like Netflix and Youtube is HTTPS.

Are there other services online that may have problems with a configuration of load balancing?

If WAN1 breaks down. WAN2 will start HTTPS transport even if HTTPS is related to WAN1?

I also have a similar problem with the router alert (goes to wrong ISP each time second), but this seems to be fixed in the latest firmware:
"Authentication of email account is configurable for email alert".

    Thanks in advance

    Jone

    Hello James,

Your solution is correct.  Certain types of secure connection HTTPS or SSH will not work if you keep changing IP address source, because it breaks the three-way handshake.  To avoid that you binding memorandum of installation you have.  You can do the same for all other traffic must always go out to a certain port WAN.

If the WAN connection selected for protocol links to crashes, he switched to the other WAN until the connection retrieves.

I have not seen too many online services that have problems with the load balancing is especially with secure connections, namely HTTPS.  I tried to access the HTTPS, Netflix, but I could never get an encrypted connection, but your best bet is to monitor and observe the network to see how it affects you.

I mean the line you are citing has to do with the configuration of authentication to an SMTP server to send alerts by e-mail, rather than choose a port WAN to use, however if you protocol links SMTP to the WAN you would use that should no longer be a problem.

    Hope that helps,

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Online banking stopped working

I've had my flashlight now for four months and really enjoy.  Here's the problem I have.  I have mobile banking services through the Bank itself. Some applications don't downloaded mobile just in line of the Bank itself.  About two days ago, I went to log on and once I logged in she told me that my session is over and connect it please.  I have connected several times and received the same message again and again, the session ended please log in. I called the service of mobile tech banks and no there end glitch.  In fact removed from my phone and I tried to recharge the mobile banking from the Bank and same issue. I disabled the caches, but that's all I know to do.  Its something in the torch itself, I have an old 8310 I use for work and have no problem to access mobile banking online with her.   I access my homepage of my access torch banks and saving my accounts but its not in the form of mobile and is a pain to navigate.

    Can someone help me

    Hello

I think, I might have an idea, what is your / the problem:

It may be that your bank has implemented a new safety device. Namely, it blocks work, when it becomes aware of this you´re using a mobile device to browse the internet.

At least that's my problem. My system of banks learns in some browsers, this powered mobile they´re. And then at the beginning that the banking was completely blocked, now it s showing only the balance of my accounts... However banking processing transactions is no longer possible.

To my native browser of the HTC Desire Z it works, when I turn off "happy mobile view, if availabe. But with the opera that I have installed on it also, West no way... even I went from the mobile content thing, too...! ?

So the question is, where to put this "mobile-content-mode' to the torch. And it is quite effective, or do we still send information, that it s for a mobile device!

If someone have an idea work?

    See you soon

    Spontex

PS: The Bank does this because of securityreasons in my case, because I m in aid to continue, which means I get SMS on my mobile with the authorization code for the operation I want to do.

The last update (29.0.1)(Mac 0sx 10.9.2), firefox seems to block access to online banking. interminable wait.

What is a site? Several sites?

    Clear the Cache

    Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    and

    Delete Cookies
Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

If there is still a problem,
    Launch Firefox in Mode safe

    While you are in safe mode;

Firefox Options > advanced > General.

Find and stop using hardware acceleration.

Dig safe web sites and see if there is still a problem. Then restart.

  • Firefox keeps my online banking

I am unable to long on my online banking. The Bank and the trend say it's the fault of Firefox. Firefox is a new browser for me and I did my default. It's now my second day to deal with this problem.

I just stopped and restarted the computer. I am now able to connect to the Bank. I disabled a lot of plug-ins... How will I know which ones to recover.

  • I want to activate cookies to use with my online banking - how?

I am a novice. I can't find the place to allow cookies - whenever I do online banking, he said "do you want to register this computer". I say Yes. But apparently, I need to enable cookies to achieve this. Thank you

To view the history settings and cookies, choose:

    • Tools > Options > privacy > Firefox will be: "use the custom settings for history".

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe or make changes.
  • 21.0 Firefox does not work with Barclays Online Banking

The site opens and displays the account balance. When I go to account details, Firefox crashes.
I deleted the cache and deleted cookies, as suggested - but it does not work.
Barclays online banking works very well using Google Chrome as a browser.

You were already using the site without problem in Firefox 20?

Is the page you are trying to load a standard web page or a PDF file (for example, statements are often PDFs)?

You can try the site Firefox Safe Mode? It is a standard diagnostic tool in order to avoid interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Mode safe help

Help > restart with disabled modules

In the dialog box, click on 'Start mode safe' (not Reset)

Any difference in the way the site works?

  • 55 "VL900A will not connect to the online TV services

Having just bought a 55 "VL900A I am quite surprised that it only connects to one"catch-up"online TV services, here in Australia. Virtually all other brands of smart TV sold here, even the cheap Soniqs, will connect at least ABC iView, otherwise more catch-ups available.

I hope that someone from Toshiba can tell us that iView support is coming? (hopefully with SBS and Fix - TV Plus7) If I understand the ABC does not charge a license fee to provide a customer in your product.

Go ahead it will be a big problem-breaker for many new customers that might be put in balance a Toshiba compared to another brand.

I m not from Australia but I m wondering you didn t contact your local dealer and pick up some info on it. Usually dealer should know how it works. I think that they are testing the products they offer in their shops.

Perhaps have you contacted Toshiba service provider in to THE? Try it. Ask them what the problem is here.

  • When I start my online banking, the options do not load. I get a message that the applet is not started because it has not been initialized (I think it has to do with Java). What should I do?

I go on my site of the Fund and go to my accounts. And I can get into my account. But the menu that allows you, among other things, go to the online banking is not. Keep it from the page it says "start applet" and then immediately "uninitialized applet." How as it initialized? I think, but am not really sure that it has something to do with Java.

To see if you need an update to the Java plugin, see the Oracle here test page:

    Who help me?

  • I need to update my browser to continue my online banking how to do this.

I need to update my browser to continue my online banking.  I have OS 10.6.8 how I would do this.

    Thank you

Depending on the browser you are using. If it's Safari, check the updates in the App Store.

If you are up to date and the site still does not work, try a person's hand to your Bank and find out what are the minimum requirements for their site. They can use Flash or Java. No way to know without asking them.

You may need to update your Flash, you can do https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

If she says that the most recent version is not compatible with your version, try this site: https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/

You may be unable to update the others without having to install OS x 10.7 Lion.
