Open a new browser window

I open several windows with different content.  Here's the script for one of them:

"" < class dt = "linie_font" > < span class = "right" > - < a href = "... / Maps_Zach/Herrnsheim.jpg ' target = '_blank' height = '400px' > Herrnsheimer #1 Linie < /a > - </span > < /dt >

I open a small "Herrnsheim" map in a new window.  I want to control the size of the new window, about 400 PX to 500px.  I tried to use a legend of the (height and width) in the above line, but without result.

How can I control the size of the new window?

Short answer: use the behaviors panel to create a pop-up window.

Try to disable or uninstall the extension "Ask Toolbar".

  • Cannot open a new browser window

I have a few users who have problems connecting to Discoverer on new PCs. They use the Internet Explorerer 8. They are able to get to the login, but when screen connect achieving (or go) they get an error: "cannot open a new browser window. Make sure that you don't have a pop - up disabled for this site".

Of course the first thing I had to do was disable popups blocker all together. But they still have the error (even when they restart their PC). Other than that, is there something that I miss in how they must configure IE8? I'm personally used to use IE6 at work and do not know much about the setting of configuration for IE8.

    Thank you!

Check if you have a toolbar (like Yahoo, Google toolbar)
These toolbars have their own Blocker for pop-up windows.
You must disable the pop-up blocker also with the blocker IE.

    Thank you

  • Publish with F12 and open a new browser window

In Flash CS6 I could publish with F12 and it would be directly open in a new browser window. Is there a way to open a new window of browser in Flash CC after the publication with F12?

    Hi Dist.,

You can set shortcuts to test Flash - animation and in the browser from the Edit-> keyboard shortcuts dialog box. Check the preview below.

    Thank you and best regards,

  • After closing a browser window and if I open a new browser window, the browser does not open by my home page in tools/options/commissioning, it loads the last page

recently, at the opening of a new browser, all is using and closed my last session opens

several widows will open and no matter what the tabs were opened by respective windows will open and not through tools/options/start/homepage

It never happened until recently and nothing else seems to have changed or new programs etc has been loaded or changed

You can remove the user.js, as it shouldn't be there unless you have created the file yourself.

If you set the pref in this file then you'll lose open tabs if you need to restart Firefox after installing a new extension, as this is the main reason for the use of this preference.
So remove the user.js file or at least this line if you want to continue to be reset possible other present prefs in the file each time you start Firefox.

This file is read every time you start Firefox, so changes made to the Pref set via this file only last for the current session.

  • You can link text to conduct "open in new browser window"?

Newbie here... the title question. I know you can link an image in this way, but you can do it with text?

Yes.  The way in which PDF files are processed depends on parameters computer/browser to the end-user, plug-ins installed, etc...  In some cases, the PDF file will launch in the browser window.  In other cases, it can download on the user's hard drive or it can launch in Acrobat (if they have).  Too many unknown variables here...

The best advice I can give you is to keep it simple.  A link directly to your PDF file and use target = "_blank" to open it in a new window or tab.  And be gentle with your site visitors, tell them that it is a PDF file and about what is the size of the file in KB.

    Link (PDF - 250 KB)

  • How can I stop Explorer to open a new browser window for all the links on my probook4530s?

Help! Each session end up with too many windows open! It drives me crazy. I have looked everywhere and cannot find an answer to this problem.

    Thanks in advance

    Hey mindia1,

I don't know which version of Internet Explorer you are using, but these steps are pretty universal. We must ensure that tabbed browsing is enabled.

    1. Open the control panel (click Start, type Control Panel, and then click the Control Panel icon)
    2. Find & open "Internet Options" in the control panel (you may need to "large icons" and no category view)
    3. Under the 'Général' tab, there should be a section called 'tabs '. Click on the button "Tabs" in this article, and you'll find all sorts of options for tabbed browsing.
    4. Set up any way you want, make sure "Enable Tabbed Browsing" is checked.

The settings in this screen are pretty self-explanatory, however if you have any questions about them, feel free to post here. Also, make sure that you are running the latest version of Internet Explorer running Windows Update. IE10 is the latest version for Windows 7 and 8.

  • I use a Mac and Apple for some reason any since yesterday, I am unable to open new browser windows by pressing on the + sign on my top bar can help you please

I download the new version of Firefox 2 days until then I could open the windows of the browser at the top of the page by clicking on the + sign, however, if I need a new window now I have to go for example on facebook, click on an ad that will open a new browser page and use it?

  • Can web viewer external links open in a new browser window?

We have as a default behavior for all links off the title would open in a new browser window when clicked. Now by clicking on a link reuses the window current and required the user to the publication.

I was hoping that maybe change the value in Folio overlays Hyperlink "Open in Folio ' to 'Open in device browser' would work, but it doesn't seem to change anything on the web viewer.

He will be supported in publication v29 of tomorrow.

  • Open the PDF link in a new browser window?

I have consulted newly created a PDF file in a browser.

When you click an internal link, the linked PDF load in the same window

I need to launch in a new browser window.

I put the link to 'new window to launch' in Word, the origin of this file.

I also opened and resaved it in Acrobat 10 with preference 'Open links in the same interdocument window"deselected.

None of these settings have changes the behavior while all the documentation I've read seems to suggest that they should.

    What I'm missing here?

    -Blake

That the parameter preference does not apply to web links and do not refer to a browser window, but an Acrobat window.

There is a JavaScript method that might work. Try to set the link for the action to something like the following script:

    app.launchURL("http://www.example.com/", true);

This was taken from the example here: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.150.html

The problem is that if a user has 10 drive and protected mode is enabled (as it is by default), it does not work and opens the link in the same browser window.

  • Behavior question open new browser window

I have a site that has a list of names of deceased persons. When a viewer clicks on a name I have a new open browser window which is a page of small specific Memorial for this person. This list is long enough so the viewer must scroll down a ways to get to the bottom. If the viewer clicks on a name down and then close this new browser window, they have to scroll all the way down and find where they left off. This assumes of course, they're going to view the pages of memory for each person. Is there a way to make the "original (with the list of names)" page refreshes to the top of the page? I use and you want to continue using the tables and no layers or styles.

Information can be sent on [email protected]

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you

  • Open another site in a new browser window

I can't create links to external sites that open as expected in a new browser window, the main browser window leaving unaltered. Except in Safari on a Mac. See the code example.

In Safari on Mac, this opens the new window and behaves as I would. In Safari on a PC, it opens a new window, but in the back. In Firefox on the Mac, I get an error message in which, when the 'OK' button is cliked, a new window opens behind the main window. Same thing on a PC. Opens a new window of Internet Explorer on a PC, but displays an error message forcing you to click the back button to return to the home page.
If I specify the url of the home page in the link field, the homepage gets reset then upward, that I don't want.
How can I get FireFox and IE to achieve this graciously?
To observe the behavior go to http://www.digifon.com/framesetal_id.htm

Do not use frames. However, the question of opening a new window is always
hotly debated. My approach is to mark the link with an icon and
then to open a new window (or tab if the user prefers). If done
correctly with javascript, this will not result in a myriad of windows and
According to the standards. (And besides, if javascript is disabled, the new page
simply opens in the current window.)

According to this philosophy, I offer you a DW Extension, which makes the addition of this
dead simple behavior. Here is an example of a page that uses it to good
advantage. Despite all the external links and pdf on page links.
the Extension should only be added once the page, rather than
Add to each link. Links added to the page AFTER the
Extension is applied ALSO acted upon, saving time in my
notice and easy on the user:

  • Cannot open as a single link at a time. any page in a new tab will appear to load but appears blank. I have to open a new browser to go to a new page. Why?

This just started here yesterday. I have a MacBook Pro 10.7.5.
I can always get on the first page I open in a new browser, but any page after that I try to open in a new tab will appear to load, but the page is empty.
This isn't just case with a website I tried the myriad of different sites... only the first charges in a new browser tab. I'll have to open a new browser if I want to go to another link - very frustrating...

  • Launch of swf. in a new browser window?

I realized a site full Flash with animation and music etc.

Now, I produce my own portfolio site. I want to have a Gallery/Viewer Flash running in my html doc. This has been implemented.

But I want to have a button in the Flash Player which, when clicked, launches the swf Flash mentioned previously. site in a new browser window so that the person looking can see a fully functional site animate nicely.

Anyone know how? Or can you recommend a tutorial that I can follow?

So if you use AS2, you must create the button that you want to use, place it on the stage, and with the button selected, enter an instance name for this in the properties panel.  This instance name will allow you to interact with the button using code.  Then, in the scenario where the button is in a layer of separate actions, you could code as follows (assume that you gave it an instance name of "btn"):

    btn.onRelease = function() {}

    getURL ("myGallery.swf", "_blank");

    }

This should get your swf file to open in a new browser window.  Just a note... When you open a swf file in a browser, it will size itself to fill the browser by what that matter the size strikes the first window frame.  So if you want to control the size to what it displays, you must use an html page to display.
