  The simple solution is:

  1. type the word restore in your Start menu.  Some options will appear.  Choose to restore the system and settings files
  2 - Click Next, choose July 14 (or a date before the problem occurred), and then click Next again.  Your system will restart with repaired parameters.
  Let us know if it works for you.

  Sorry if this is a stupid question... you can keep the front screen unlocked? It's a pain to try to answer a call or even read a text without constantly having to unlock all the time... TIA Andrea

  There is an application called "No Lock".  It does not block the screen, hide but will all move together to the lock screen.  I really like this app.  I use it all the time.  I hope this helps.

• When you open an external link, a new window opens and displays the home page

  Updated to the latest version (36.0 Linux) and now whenever I open a link from an external application to be steam E-mail IRC or any other source, instead of the page is displayed a new window will open and then load the home page. I tried the default browser to something else (which opened the links correctly) switching and vice versa, safe mode and even a refresh, but the problem persists.

  I found this in the bug tracker.

  Apparently it seems to be a problem with an old hack in XFCE or desktop environments possible on X in general, which is no longer supported in Firefox 36. A solution fast until they solve this problem, is to open a new terminal and enter:

  sudo gedit /usr/share/xfce4/helpers/firefox.desktop
  (replace gedit by any other text editor you use)
  .. .and change the last two lines:
  X-XFCE-orders = %B - distance "openURL (about: Virgin, new window)"; %B;
  X-XFCE-CommandsWithParameter = %B - remote "openURL (%s)"; %B %s;
  to read:
  X-XFCE-orders = %B;
  X-XFCE-CommandsWithParameter = B %%s;
  then save the document, of course.

  This solves the problem for me immediately.

  Hi, we have a scorm course that has integrated Vimeo videos, using the web object and it works very well, also on the same page\slide we have links to external resources.

  What we demanded, that is when the learner clicks on an external link he paused the video, no matter what ides on how we can do this?

  Unfortunately, Captivate is unable to send commands to web objects, then you will not be able to implement a command which pauses for the video (frustrating, right?).

  My only suggestion would be to put your external resource on a transparent section,

  or

  Set it so the hyperlink executes a tip rather than just the link action and place so the advanced action opens the link and hides the web object / moves on a holding slide.

  I hope this helps! I appreciate it is not a good solution.

  Hope this is the right place for this question and that it is not too bad...
  
  I use CS4 to build a simple website using a template with navigation bar, header and footer.
  In the left navigation panel, I want to be able to associate a few buttons (maybe Spry menu?) to open an external URL. So far, that's fine, but in addition I want to do the following when the link opens in my site:-
  
  (1) I want the link to open it in the main content window on the RIGHT side of my page (that is to say I don't want to open a new browser window)
  (2) I also want to be able to left or right, to justify the content of the page when it opens in the RHS window (I've seen called openstyle = "rtl", which can be used for languages that read from right to left (Hebrew, etc.))
  (3) the content of the external URL is an image, that is to say, GIF or PNG, not text.
  
  On older sites (DW3) I got close to do this with images, but I still couldn't do the bit right justify. The images always open left and I had to Diecut to the right manually. I thought that executives were in the doghouse now and I should spend some of the new templates, widgets, etc.

  Try to remove the underlining from your CHM file names, reissue and compilation. Do not use underscores or other special character traits.

Everything looks good except when I go to the page of sponsors, links to all the authors begin with http://www.rhinebeckfarmersmarket.com/ followed by the link I want to go to.   I can assign the value using javascript on normal form of table as below:

  It seems that talk us about different things. I thought that you were concerened about the change of the line after what he drew.

  To create a new vertical/horizontal line, select the line tool (cursor becomes +), then hold down the SHIFT key. Now, click where you want to start (while holding down the SHIFT key), and then drag the line to where you want to end (i.e. your last approach). At this stage it will still be the selection and display the handles at both ends.

  For editing existing line, ctrl + click on the line. The handles will appear. Hold down the SHIFT key and then click the e handle you want to change. You can move horizontally or vertically along the imaginary axis passing through the selected breakpoint when you use the shift key modifier.

  is it possible to automatically show the pane external TOC when binding an html file? On our intranet, many pages are not compiled with robohelp, they are word-> html pages, but we link these pages to the robohelp webhelp.

  By default, you only see the topic and have the link display at the top of the page. But this link to display is not visible unless you really link to the top of this page.

  I would like to activate the navigation pane by default whenever an external link refers to HR webhelp.

  I'm not following you, but the above should work.

  With this kind of things it should be to create a small test project and do refer a file for you on the server. Then you can test without affecting your project or online users.

  I am trying to use the Acrobat Open Api in order to more specifically navigate to pdf locations.
  The pdf open api however is silent on how to acquire the parameters needed for the URL.
  
  Specifically:
  The acrobat open api provides several examples of urls to open pdfs in different ways. 
  I am trying to use is:

  1) page is easy - in the doc it is there and it can be found via this.pageNum

  The other two parameters are hard to find. 
  My closest guess is to use this.viewState. 
  However extracting the fields of this object has been impossible to me. 
  I see that this.viewState.toSource() will output the contents, 
  but are these the correct contents I need for the two other zoom parameters.
  
  I also recognized I can use the this.bookmarkRoot object. 
  However I could not find fields in its children which give the

  Acrobat JavaScript cannot access these settings.

  I think you have the permanent license rather than a subscription version. Like all the old versions, it will get only what's new with paid upgrades. One day. Only the subscription version has smaller evolutionary changes.

• I've migrated the FF settings to a new PC and no external link now opens

  A few days I received my new PC and migrate all important data of the former using a special tool to W8. I also installed Thunderbird and FF anew and migrated their setting using the tools recommended here (FF + MozBackup Sync). And all of a sudden I lost the ability to open any external link in FF now regardless of the source (Thunderbird or any other piece of software). Now, I have to copy and paste the URL manually. It is not the best solution. Old PC OS: Vista Business, new PC operating system: W8.1. Thanks in advance.

  Hi people, I got tired of manually entering the URL addresses and decided to go back a few steps. So I uninstalled about half of the programs installed (including FF and Thunderbird) and reinstalled them again. And now everything works as expected. It's a kind of magic for me. In any case thank you for your advice, even copy - paste.
