  • How to open file vhd in windows 7 starter?

I use a netbook which runs windows 7 starter edition. I found that vhd on drive D file space is great, but I could not open the file. How can I open it?

OK, firstly, I assume that you have downloaded and installed Microsoft Virtual PC?  http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Virtual-PC/Download.aspx

If you have, look in your Start menu and you will have an option of Windows Virtual PC, go to the menu and click on Windows Virtual PC.

Now, technically, there is no GUI for Virtual PC, it is integrated with Windows 7 so it looks like a menu of Windows Explorer, but is not.

If you look to the top of the window, there is a create Virtual Machine button, click on that and it will guide you in creating a new virtual machine.

When it is the part of questions you on your hard drive (3rd screen I think), opt to select a VHD file and choose the created VHD file.  Complete the wizard and start the machine.

    That's all-

I know where the file NK2 in XP but not Windows 7. I have a 64-bit computer. I have several e-mail addresses. Help.

First of all, you should NOT use the nk2 file to store contacts. If you want to keep contacts add to your Contacts folder.

    The location in 32-bit Windows 7 is C:\Users\{Your username} \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook

  • I can't update/install a file BIOS under Windows 7

I'm trying to update my BIOS on my Windows 7 computer. I went to Dell and the file downloaded installation, but when I try to install it (even with administrative rights), I get a window that says: "the system is different between the current system and the ROM file. I performed a test of compatibility of file and found the BIOS file is supported only by Windows XP Service Pack 2, and my computer can not solve the problem of incompatibility. I made sure the BIOS file I download is actually a version of BIOS newer than what I currently have in my computer (A07 [2009] to A05 [2012]). I even tried turning off my software anti-virus and firewall temporarily, in which case it was somehow corrupt download - things strangest occurred - nothing helped. Any suggestions?

Since there is apparently no way to post one response other than an answer on the site, I must say what I have to say by asking another question. I could not update my BIOS is because I chose the download BIOS for the computer model wrong. - the Dell Vostro 270 over 270 s. As it ends, I installed current BIOS. Sorry for the confusion.

  • Open file - security WARNING when opening shortcuts

original title: open file - security warning

Hello. I was greeted with a dialog box "Open file - security warning" at the opening of the shortcuts the (they are not the Internet or a network drive) after I applied the settings in Internet Options to turn off AutoComplete.

Only shortcuts that are related to specific files are affected (see figure 1).

I searched the Internet for a while, but it looks like using Group Policy Editor or Properties Internet does not help. Change strategy will just lead to another illustrated dialog box (seefigure 2). Opening .exe files is not affected, as open shortcuts to elsewhere. To make foreign things, if I just copy the shortcuts to another location (such as in the root directory or on another hard disk), they work fine without the security warning. Move the shortcuts or their copy to the folder of the Start Menu does not work.

    Just... What's happened!

I actually found a response that makes more sense than the foregoing.  Following a power failure network, after starting my computer and trying to connect to my domain account, it seems that Windows will change the permissions on some points, when he thinks he is attacked.  Thus, Windows has changed the permissions on my desktop, but nothing that I could see in the user interface.  Some, but not all, links on my desk began to exhibit this problem and he only posted links on my desk.

So, after doing some research I came across the following article, which got me in a good way:

Difficulty of Start Menu shortcuts open file security in Windows 7 and Windows Vista warning

All I had to do was to change the path to my office (see below):

    ICACLS "C:\Users\\Desktop" /Setintegritylevel (OI) (CI) M

and everything was back to normal again.

Original title: how IE8 to open a .tif file by using the Windows fax and picture viewer?

    Hello

I suggest that allows you to remove any CLSIDS listed under location:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT Type\image/tiff

Note: Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.
