Opening of attachments in the emails received in Windows Mail

For the last month I could not open or save attachments with the emails that I receive in my Windows Mail folder.  At the same time, I can not extract files from zipped files I receive (an empty folder is created but nothing is extracted).  I solved the problem of zip by downloading a separate program to decompress (7 Zip file manager) but still my main problem with opening/saving attachments in emails.  I see a post from Finekatz back in April 2009 had exactly the same problem, but could not see a solution has been found.  Please help - it's very annoying.  See you soon

I use Windows Vista, Windows Mail and Internet Explorer 9 if that helps.

  • After clicking on the send/receive tab (windows mail), the info box disappears after a second.

I can not receive or send e-mails, the box of the task appears, then disappears immediately.

Try to remove your e-mail account, and then repair the database with this utility (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) and then add your account again.  Also, pay attention to program 3rd party interference.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

You're welcome, Said and please give us the details.  In Internet Explorer, click on Tools > Internet Options > delete , put a check mark in the temporary Internet files area, and then click OK .  When he finishes to remove the files, close IE, open it again and try to download attachments. • Send/receive in Windows Mail box is off the screen to the right

Outbox send/receive in Windows Mail (Vista) used to appear at the top left of the screen.  Now, she is partially visible and on the top right of the screen.  I would like to return it where it was.  It comes to the Outbox Send/REC/WAV with the Green shows the 'streaming' line in messages and not the send/REC/WAV in a box in the toolbar.

Right-click on the toolbar and slick on customize and control the order of the displayed icons.  Adjust them to send/receive is not the end, but where you want.  If the order is good but it still hurt shows, press the Reset button and that should restore icons in their right place (although if you have no customization, you will need to do it again).

After further review, I know that I have responded to the toolbar tells you not what you were referring too.  I've been looking for each menu option and toolbar option I could find and you can't find any reference to any other send/receive button available in Windows Mail so that I have all the answers for you since the feature that you are discussing seems to not exist in my copy.  My only suggestion is to try to grab it with the mouse (left-click on it and hold down the left button) and see if you can move whenever you prefer it to be.  Otherwise, I have no suggestions to offer.  Do you know how to activate this box on or off (do appear or disappear) - if so, please explain how it's done.  If we can get this dialog to appear in our versions, then maybe we can find a way to solve the problem.  Have you ever installed some software enhancements 3rd party Windows Mail which could include this as a feature?

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

Hi Steve... We have McAfee Security and we have always had. It was only last week we had problems with Windows mail... :( Should update us do you think? BTW, the server is ok that I am able to retrieve messages on the site from servers...

    ----------------

The SMTP server and the Web site are not the same.

This problem could have been caused by a recent update from McAfee?
Try disabling electronic e-mail scanning in McAfee following the instructions here.

Mail scanning is unnecessary and purely aesthetic.
