Opening v. 2 on El Capitan

I intend to install Aperture 2 version I have on my present Mac Pro, 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad - Core Intel Xeon running El Capitan, but after you go through the Setup and enter my serial number, I got a message saying that Aperture 2 is not compatible and can eventually damage the operating system, apparently. There was the option to click "Install Anyway".  What happens if I give it a try?  Also, can I change somehow v. 2 to a compatible version, or should I buy a v.3 update if it will work?

I prefer not to spend the money and also ask (as a newbie with this) if Aperture and Adobe Lightroom are similar in their productivity.  I did not research, but any comments welcome, thank you.

You need the current version of opening for use with El Capitan. This is 3.x.x. Is no longer available as an update to the version 2.x.x. I'm afraid you've missed the boat on this one.

You need to wipe your drive in order to install your older version of Mac OS X that your were running when you use Aperture V2. Then you can purchase the upgrade to v3.xx. After that, you could then go to El Capitan.

  • iMovie will not open since the installation of capitan

Finally, I bit the bullet and installed El Capitan on my Macbook, and now I'm seriously wishing I didn't. I can't open iMovie, even after the update to version 10.1.2 earlier today. Whenever I try to open, I get the message "that iMovie close unexpectedly". I have UN - and re - installed it and restarted my computer, but nothing has worked. Try to open iMovie while holding down the command and option keys. If it opens, select Delete preferences. I guess you have not yet created a library. I don't know what version you were using previously, but if it was before iMovie 10 then iMovie updates your projects and events to its library system.

What to do to 9.0.3 Safari that doesn't open new window not and loads slowly on el capitan 10.11.3 on an iMac 21.5 inch mid 2011?

The problem is probably due to outdated software to OS X and Safari. The latest version of Safari available is 9.1. The last OS X for El Capitan is 10.4.11.

Click on your Apple  menu at the top left of your screen.

In the drop-down list, click: App Store

I upgraded yesterday afternoon to El Capitan. Everything went well, there is no problem and all my programs have remained open. I closed InDesign earlier today and I went to open again this afternoon, it crashes. Whenever I try to open it, I get the pink at the loading screen then the dialog box "InDesign quit unexpectedly. CS6 is not supported under El Capitan. There will be no Adobe solution, since the software is of 3-1/2 years.

CS6 other users also have problems as well.

  • El capitan will not open - full boot disk

    Hello

My Macbook Pro 2015 will not open. I have El Capitan on it.

The last time it was open, I was copying large files on it. Did not notice that the free space was not so. Thus, change some time to copy files, the screen freezes and I had to stop it by pressing the button of closing for a period of time.

Now it wonder pass and then takes over to 100% and stay like that. I keep it like that for 1 and a half hour and still the same.

    I have fact/cheque:

1 safe mode - does not work. I don't know why, and I'm wright.

2 disk utility (cmd + R) - say that the mac player seems to be ok (first aid) and shows me zero free Ko. Think that's the reason why it does not start.

3 terminal. Find my user >. Trash and delete the content thereof (rm - rf ~ /.) Trashes) and checked it was empty after. After restarting the same.

4 El Capitan of loading of the external drive. Can't see hidden files (.) (Trash) even when I put the command in the terminal. I was able to remove the other files with this, which appeared on the external drive of the El capitan Trash and delete them from there to check the mac, 100 GB of free drive. Reboot and always the same time. Open Cmd + R-> disk utility again: zero free Ko. Why?

Like most computers Mac needs space to run in, so boot from an external drive and delete (or move) at least 15 GB of your Mac. This should be enough to start, do not fill it up again

  • Calendar opens in half size in El Capitan

    Hi all

Whenever I open my calendar in El Capitan 10.11.3, it opens in half size. How can I change the setting by default so that it opens in full screen?

    Thank you

    Hello there, Bechert.

Looks like you are trying to keep the application calendar window to display full screen. The following article in the Knowledge Base customer full screen and how you can set a window size:

OS X El Capitan: focus on applications in full-screen or split mode

In many applications, you can take advantage of every inch of the screen by working with a full screen application - the app expands to fill the entire screen, or by opening a second application to use both applications side by side in split view. You can concentrate on what is in windows without being distracted by the office.

The menu bar and Dock are easy to access when you need them and the office, other apps in full screen or in split view, and spaces that you created are just a call by far.

  • Should I move to El Capitan of Mavericks

Currently have a mid-2009 MacBook Pro Mavericks to market with a 1 TB hard drive and a 2.26 gHZ processor. Just upgraded from 4 to 8 RAM with original thoughts to move towards El Capitan. I use Aperture 3.5.1, but understand that I would need to go to 3.6 so I went to El Capitan. Did some research and see how it is possible, if I move the current version of opening up a separate drive, install El Capitan and then switch to 3.6.

All that being said, I wonder if I shouldn't even bother? I read on a few small problems, opening running on El Capitan. I know that I was able to partition my drive so that I can continue to work opening on Mavericks and El Capitan execution for all the rest, but that would be a pain to switch back and comes just to use other programs. I'm not so maybe that's not as much hassle I think it would be the guy most in computer science. Is it worth it to switch to El Capitan, or should I just stick with what I have now and enjoy the new my rugged up RAM speed?

Only if you need since it is not a requirement. Never upgrade until you are sure that all of your critical software mission runs or can be upgraded to run on the new version of the OS.

Eventually, however, you will need to upgrade to El Capitan. Unless you have a USB bootable installer of the Mavericks by car or kept the Mavericks Installer, you will not be able to reinstall it.

What do you suggest me? I thought that Aperture 3.6 was supposed to open at Yosemite or El Capitan? Thank you bripoppamac44

What happens, when you try that? You get an error message? If so, what error?

Opening 3.6 works well with Yosemite 10.10.5.
