Opera, Firefox and IE <>Flash Player

I have IE, Firefox AND Opera installed and use them for different issues (IE =) updates of Windows, Bank = Firefox, opera = news. Obviously, I do need to update Flash Player for IE and Firefox/Opera separately, BUT should I really uninstall Flash Player whenever an update is available, download two different from the most recent Flash Player installation files and run them before ALL my browsers show the latest version when checking in

http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about ? This seems to be the onlly way I can't find instructions how to handle updates, when different browsers are installed - just for each browser individually.

By security reasons I'd rather find a way to use the update message (which may be wrong) just like the information on the fact that an update is available and what's his name, manually connect to adobe.com, verify that this update really exists and download and install it manually after that. Any suggestions how this practice of smooth and easy way?

Hi, the first thing is even though even it's an update, it's a new version. So it must be uninstalled. The uninstall program removes all previous versions of all browsers. Then, you can install with IE and FF/Opera.

This Guide will be useful, check your settings, etc.. I would like to download the uninstall program and save it to the desktop. Page down in the Guide for installers of manual and a SAVE to your desktop.

Follow the news to turn off all apps that use Flash in the system tray, close all browsers. Make sure that you use the administrator account. Disable the if necessary Anti-anti-virus/firewall.

Run the uninstall program, reboot, reboot. Run the installation programs. Some restart the computer after each installation, which belongs to you. But finally restart.

  • After you have installed Mozilla Firefox with Adobe Flash Player 11.6 20.0, videos YouTube do not load correctly.

Videos YouTube has of worked before installing Adobe Flash Player. Once installed the screen flickers, after a second, rewind at the start, then plays normally. This only happens when I use Internet Explorer. I reinstalled Mozilla Firefox and Adobe Flash Player several times but nothing seems to work. Decommissioning of Adobe Flash Player does not work either. It seems that Firefox is the problem, but I'm not completely sure.

You can check for problems with the latest version of the Flash plugin and try these:

    • disable an eventual extension of the browser for Firefox Plugin RealPlayer Record and if installed RealPlayer update
    • disable the safe_mode in Flash 11.3 and later versions
    • turn off hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
  • Problems with Swiff/Eolsoft and Adobe Flash Player

I am current using a Dell Latitude D820 laptop which uses Windows 7 (32 bit) running with the current version of Firefox (12, not a beta version) and that you have installed the latest version of Adobe Flash Player (11). However, I am completely unable to play one of my files .swf or .flv to computers.

Whenever I try to open the Swiff player an error message that says, and I quote 'Unfortunately, Adobe Flash player ActiveX is not installed on your system. SWF & FLV player requires this ActiveX control for the operation. Please visit www.adobe.com and install Flash Player ActiveX Control. " (This is the error message in the letter I left out anything)."

Now, I sailed on the site and installed the latest version of flash which provided the site Web Adobe and after having looked at length (see exhaustively) through the web and help adobe for a solution to this problem, I found nothing conclusive.

So I tried to use Eolsoft Flash Movie Player, but she gave the following error: Flash Movie Player requires the Macromedia Flash Player Plugin, which is not in this system. You want to go to the Macromedia website and install the plug-in?

According to the link provided simply brings me on adobe's site when I installed and uninstalled the program several times. If anyone knows the solution to these problems, I would appreciate your help.

After more searching through the internet and my computer, I found in the settings of my flash it says version ActiveX is not installed. What does that mean? I thought that ActiveX is provided with the download of Adobe Flash.

    Flash Player has two components:

    • control ActiveX for Internet Explorer
    • the plugin for other browsers

Other applications may use one or the other of these components, you may need to have both installed.

Try download and run the Installer tall_in_a_firewall_proxy_server_environment http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#ins offline - note that none of the browsers or applications using Flash Player must run during installation.

If you still have problems after that, please indicate what files you have in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash

  • After having reinstalled FFox and Adobe Flash Player, why is a certain company Web page does not load, but it does in Internet Explorer.

For some reason a business the company website does not load on my desktop PC. The page is grey and white with a few titles and a circle in the middle which goes around and round. I have previously (a few months ago) has been able to access the site (and have for years). I am running Windows 7. I have cleared my cache, reinstalled FireFox, reinstalled Adobe Flash Player (even tried downgrading Flash version 10). If I use IE, the loading of the page of the site with all the graphics, etc. very well, I have all the same features of FF on my laptop. The site opens well on my laptop. What's next?

If it works in Firefox Safe mode and then disable all extensions (Tools > Modules > Extensions) and then try to find out who is causing by allowing an extension at a time until the problem reappears.

Close and restart Firefox after each change through "file > exit ' (Mac: ' Firefox > leave";) Linux: "file > exit ')

Hello, adobe has released a critical fix for a vulnerability in its version of the flash plugin, which is apparently already exploited in the wild. That's why firefox will block the precarious versions which run by default on Web sites for your protection. https://helpx.Adobe.com/security/products/Flash-Player/apsb14-27.html https://addons.Mozilla.org/Firefox/blocked/p794

Please update Adobe Flash Player version 16.0.0.235 as soon as possible, that you can download from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html (use the windows exe for plugin-based browsers).

  • Adobe Reader and Adobe Flash Player for Firefox

These two above ins card are offered by Firefox. However, I made several attempts to download and install these plug-ins, without success.

Each time, the browser goes on the Adobe site. It says to access the instructions so installation of these plug-ins for Firefox. I'm going to the instructions and they claim that these plug-ins do not work with Firefox.

My questions, if Firefox offers these plug-ins, why can't I install them.

Please make sure you use the latest version of Firefox by going to the Help menu and selecting "in regard to Mozilla Firefox". The current version is 3.6.3 (to date), if you are using an older version, please download the latest version from the Firefox Web site. If you are using 3.6.3, try to visit Adobe for Adobe Reader download pages and Adobe Flash directly, note that you will probably agree to install Adobe (Adobe DLM) Download Manager and agree to several security prompts in the bar at the top of the page before the plugins to install. Here are direct links to the download pages:

(I recommend UNchecking the box so as not to download the McAfee Security Scan, but it's up to you)

  • help open and run Flash Player

I use a 1 year new Dell PC, Windows 7, Internet Exp 11.  Last year, I downloaded the Adobe Flash Player 4 x successfully.  It downloads and stores very well in my program files.  It does not appear when I click on START and show on this list. I can only find if I do a search.  When I go to the Adobe site, it shows that I have installed a more recent and current version for Windows.  But I can't seem to open or do anything.  I can't tell you how frustrating it is.  I also checked with my McAfee and they insist that nothing on my computer is a problem and I need to talk to Adobe (Yes, just try and find a number!).  Can someone please?

    1. it will not be displayed in your Start menu, because it is one "plugin" for another program, not a program itself. You can find it in C/Windows/System32/C:\windows\system32\macromed/Flash and C/Windows/SysWOW64/C:\windows\system32\macromed/Flash

    2. in your control panel under system and security control, you will find the Global Settings Manager - Flash Player (32-bit). THAT won't be there if it is not installed.

IE 11 has had many problems with many sites, which Microsoft knew since Oct. 18, when they released their latest browser "tested." There is something not right in the code. The pages may not recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication they have any plan to address it quickly.

Recommendation from Microsoft is to use compatibility view for the relevant pages and "pretend" you are using a different browser. Problem with that is it has been a success limited at best, and you will need to activate individually for EACH page that has problems.

I'm not big on "pretend" so I recommend you to use another browser.

    Firefox (from Mozilla)

    Opera (from opera)

    Safari (from Apple)

    Chrome (from Google)

NO one who will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player plug-in (for all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't have same because it has its own plugin Flash Player built in.

  • I have Windows 7, Adobe Flash Player 16.0.0.305 NPAPI and Adobe Flash Player ActiveX 13.0.0.214. Should I have them both?

On Facebook, the videos are choppy, Adobe Flash player 16.0.0.305 crashes. Issue of intermittent latency when scrolling on web pages. Use memory and CPU high when the shift occurs. I'll upgrade to Adobe Flashplayer 17. I'm especially curious to know if I need Adobe Flash Player NPAPI 16.0.0.305 both Adobe Flash Player ActiveX 13.0.0.214. They perform the same function? Having both installed would be my problem?

You must uninstall both of them and install the latest version of Flash, 17. https://get.Adobe.com/flashplayer/download/?installer=FP_17_for_Firefox_-_NPAPI & standalone = 1

To try a few more things that could improve your performance:

  • I use Windows 7 with a Firefox browser. new flash player update Adobe... now, it blocks my computer!

I use Windows 7 and firefox browser. I was invited to update flash player to the new verion 17. (blah blah). 169. I downloaded the update. installed without a problem but come to find out now, everytime I try to go youtube my videos play but they are extremely glitch, pixelated, then after a bit, my computer crashes everything.

I tried all the suggested site patches i.e. uninstalled and reinstalled flashplayer. Reinstalled a previous version. Reset firefox to delete modules or extensions that I did. Nothing worked!

It is a standard orientation which addresses the most common issues with the Flash Player plugin. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:

    (1) If you have any recorders/downloaders who interact with Flash media to ensure that they are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them temporarily.

    (2) turn off hardware acceleration in Firefox and Flash

    (A) in Firefox, uncheck the box here:

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced > General > "use hardware acceleration when available.

Which takes effect the next time you exit and restart Firefox.

    (B) in Flash, right-click in the press and choose settings, then the first mini tab and uncheck the box to use hardware acceleration. More information in this article from Adobe technical support: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues

    (3) turn off mode protected (Windows Vista and later)

The functionality of the safe_mode of the Flash player plugin has security benefits, but there seem to be some compatibility issues on some systems. There is a new parameter hidden for this:

    (A) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (B) in the search above the list box, type or paste the flash and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (C) double-click the preference dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable - protected mode to change its value from false to true.

It cannot take effect until all the Flash was discharged for a few minutes, or you close Firefox.

    Any improvement?

  • I was watching a movie. A screen came to ask if I wanted to add a filter. I clicked Add Filter and now Flash Player does not work. It works on Internet Explorer

I was watching a movie on a site that I subscribe to and a screen came to ask if I wanted to add a filter. I clicked Add Filter. Now my Flash Player is not compatible on Mozila Firefox but not Internet Explorer

Looks like you are using Adblock Plus that causing this problem.

    • Go to Firefox/Tools(Alt+T) > Adblock Plus > filter preferences > custom filters

If you own Adblocking rules, delete, select Action > delete (Del) > click Yes and then close then try
