    Hello world

I am a teacher and am having problem opening files SWF student. I believe that many of my students are still in Flash CS6 or maybe CS5.

I have Flash installed CC. It seems that my Flash Player is 11.7.700.169. But I also have Flash Player 11.4.402.265, which is what I understand the Player Flash CS6?

When I try to open their SWF to display, it closes immediately. I can open the. Fla. fine, although when this has happened, it looks like students used TLF text, and I get a message from Flash CC: it is not supported. But if they did anything with fonts, I did not, I do not see their work as expected. This is an intro class, so they have not really learned about the integration yet.

My hunch is that the TLF text will not work in the most recent Flash Player. But I wonder why the SWF does not so in agreement with the 11.4xxx version.  Any ideas on what I can do?

    1. If they are not embedding fonts and you don't have a font that is used by one of your students, you will not see their project in the same way they see.

== After FireFox / update Adobe Flash Player

  • After you have installed Mozilla Firefox with Adobe Flash Player 11.6 20.0, videos YouTube do not load correctly.

Videos YouTube has of worked before installing Adobe Flash Player. Once installed the screen flickers, after a second, rewind at the start, then plays normally. This only happens when I use Internet Explorer. I reinstalled Mozilla Firefox and Adobe Flash Player several times but nothing seems to work. Decommissioning of Adobe Flash Player does not work either. It seems that Firefox is the problem, but I'm not completely sure.

You can check for problems with the latest version of the Flash plugin and try these:

    • disable an eventual extension of the browser for Firefox Plugin RealPlayer Record and if installed RealPlayer update
    • disable the safe_mode in Flash 11.3 and later versions
    • turn off hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
  • I use Windows 7 with a Firefox browser. new flash player update Adobe... now, it blocks my computer!

I use Windows 7 and firefox browser. I was invited to update flash player to the new verion 17. (blah blah). 169. I downloaded the update. installed without a problem but come to find out now, everytime I try to go youtube my videos play but they are extremely glitch, pixelated, then after a bit, my computer crashes everything.

I tried all the suggested site patches i.e. uninstalled and reinstalled flashplayer. Reinstalled a previous version. Reset firefox to delete modules or extensions that I did. Nothing worked!

It is a standard orientation which addresses the most common issues with the Flash Player plugin. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:

    (1) If you have any recorders/downloaders who interact with Flash media to ensure that they are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them temporarily.

    (2) turn off hardware acceleration in Firefox and Flash

    (A) in Firefox, uncheck the box here:

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced > General > "use hardware acceleration when available.

Which takes effect the next time you exit and restart Firefox.

    (B) in Flash, right-click in the press and choose settings, then the first mini tab and uncheck the box to use hardware acceleration. More information in this article from Adobe technical support: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues

    (3) turn off mode protected (Windows Vista and later)

The functionality of the safe_mode of the Flash player plugin has security benefits, but there seem to be some compatibility issues on some systems. There is a new parameter hidden for this:

    (A) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (B) in the search above the list box, type or paste the flash and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (C) double-click the preference dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable - protected mode to change its value from false to true.

It cannot take effect until all the Flash was discharged for a few minutes, or you close Firefox.

    Any improvement?

  • Plugin Checker Firefox reads Adobe Flash Player obsolete, even if the latest version (19.0.0.207) is installed.

I recently installed Adobe Flash Player version 19.0.0.207 to replace the previous version (19.0.0.185). However, when I ran the plugin checker, he says that Flash is outdated, still saying version 19.0.0.185. Then, I went into the menu Add on, you click on the plugins tab, scrolled down to Shockwave Flash and you click on more. He showed two files .dll, NPSWF32_19_0_0_185.dll and NPSWF32_19_0_0_207.dll.
Since the auditor think again that the 19.0.0.185 version is still installed, the plugin check tool reads the outdated Flash Player. There, someone can help me with this situation?

Good news! I closed the browser for a few minutes. Then, I ran again the update checker. This time, he read Flash as up-to-date. The old file, NPSWF32_19_0_0_185.dll, was removed from the list of plugin.

  • More reliable Flash Player combo

    Hey everybody,

I am looking for information on the reliability of Flash Player. I know from experience, it sometimes freezes on the operating system Windows using Mozilla Firefox (at least in my case, do not know why). I can't do more for various reasons.

My question is: is there any OS Flash Player + composition of browser, which can make sure that it will not crash? Or is there a composition that can minimize this risk to almost 0%?

    Thanks in advance.

Each version of Flash Player includes important security updates.  You always want to use the latest version of Flash Player.

The Safe_mode for Firefox is a significant mitigation of security designed to provide defense in depth protections against modern malware targeting Flash Player.  In front of the growing number of attacks against Firefox, modernize us an approach to sandboxing to Firefox NPAPI plugin architecture, which originated in the early 1990s.

There is a good explanation of what it looks like here:

    l http://blogs.adobe.com/Security/2012/06/Inside-Flash-Player-protected-mode-for-Firefox.htm

Flash and Firefox use a communication channel provided by the operating system called IPC (Inter Process Communication) to transmit messages. In addition to the multiple layers of abstraction introduced by Protected Mode, there are two additional layers between Firefox and our broker.  This means that each message between Flash and Firefox went through four different processes and there are four times as many messages.

What we see when we look into the shot of typical generic Firefox and Flash, is that a message is deleted or rendered unserviceable, and one of the parties just sits there to wait for a response that never comes.  Possibly 30 Firefox hang second detection intervenes, and kills it safely the Flash Player process, which triggers the plugin screen then crashed.

We have spent a lot of time playing with it, and what we find generally is that disabling one of the layers of this stack, Container PlugIn, Protected Mode, etc, leads to an improvement in stability.  The theory of our work is that by reducing the number of messages that are passed, we do not see problems with messages getting dropped.  We are not maxing out the ability of transmitting messages, and things work as expected.

Competing browsers such as Google Chrome and Internet Explorer have invested heavily in the creation of modern architectures of plug-ins that offer safety and efficiency benefits.  Unfortunately, Mozilla is considering a future without plugins and upgrade the plugin API to provide both security and effectively isn't a priority for Firefox.

Hello, adobe has released a critical fix for a vulnerability in its version of the flash plugin, which is apparently already exploited in the wild. That's why firefox will block the precarious versions which run by default on Web sites for your protection. https://helpx.Adobe.com/security/products/Flash-Player/apsb14-27.html https://addons.Mozilla.org/Firefox/blocked/p794

  • Can't see Firefox v35 v38 flash player npapi 18 installed?

    Hi people,

I've been running Firefox v35 several months on Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate fully updated. But a week or two ago, I noticed that the embedded videos would not play, such the bbc.co.uk/news.  "Flash Player is not installed", Firefox looks like me.

Repeated attempts to download installation (flash player npapi 18) appear to install correctly, Windows is concerned (it appears in the control panel).  But what do you, Firefox v35 will see that it is installed.  Shockwave does not appear on the plugins page. It does not appear when I go on the site of Adobe test to try to run the test.

I've just upgraded to firefox v38 with reboot, uninstall and don't reinstall of flash player, but... still no play flash.

    Help?

    Thank you

    Piyush salvation,

    Thanks for your quick response.

As you can see, Active X version (which seems to work fine in IE 8) as well as the NPAPI version.

There is NO Shockwave flash player plugin listed in the box of Firefox Addons. If there was, I would have allowed him now.

I tried a complete uninstall of Firefox, remove each Mozilla folder in sight after several reboots and still have no flash player.

I ran to your manual uninstall program and it uninstalled the Active X and NPAPI flashplayer.  Now the installer... and in the end, it shows only the NPAPI v18.

Firefoxing... and now the player Shockwave Flash is here.  And it plays videos!

And... so even Chrome and IE 8.

    Thank you very much

    See you soon,.

    Mike
