  • The slow driver on Windows 7

    Hello

I have some basic usb devices such as keyboard and mouse connected to the usb hub. As a result, windows 7 still need to install the driver again and again, even if it is already in my computer. He searches the driver shows first through the internet which is very slow, minutes! (so I have to always find its dialog box and keep it to find on the internet). Is it possible to force it to find the driver on the computer first / directly?

    Thank you

Hi, most of the time the keyboard does not wake upward (with or without hub) after hibernation. Back to topic, Microsoft should have it finds the driver of the local computer first before searching for (internet) worldwide! If modifying a registry key is Ok, it will be good.

  • Portable operation extremely slow even after the system recovery

I have a series of g laptop and on last week, it started running VERY slowly after the start. It came from nowhere, because it allows to work just fine the day before. So yesterday, I restored the factory setting and saved without previous files or documents. He worked as new for a few hours and then it suddenly becomes very slow. It's so slow that it freezes or it loads forever when I just click or click on the Start button. Pretty much everything I had there, it was iTunes malawarebytes, utorrent, steam and some other stuff that is were all on my computer before the problems began. Help will be greatly appreciated!

    Best regards, Nicolas

    Hi Nicolas,.

Regarding the size of the hard drive, there may be problems with the recovery process if you are installing a drive of smaller capacity than one that was originally supplied with your laptop - the same size or slightly more is Ok.

Unfortunately, I do not see the image of your link, but I think I know what you are referring.

I guess than the previous you reinstalled the operating system is using the D Partition of hard disk recovery.  However, with a new disc, it will not be possible that the disc is not completely empty.  You will need to use a set of recovery DVDs to reinstall the operating system on the new drive - however, this procedure going to re-create the recovery on the new drive Partition automatically.

All you have to do, once the new drive has been installed is to operate on the esc key when you launch Notepad to open the Start Menu.  Insert the recovery DVD.  Select boot options (usually f9), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER.  You can also get a prompt to "Press any key to" continuous - it if requested.  This will start the Recovery Manager and the whole procedure will be very similar to the previous method, you used - you will be prompted by the software when you need to change DVD to continue the process.

    Kind regards

Here are the official specifications of Toshiba for your PC...

    http://support.Toshiba.com/support/staticContentDetail?ContentId=638405&isFromTOCLink=false

All interface PATA (IDE) connectors are a standard 40 pin.

I know that there is no restriction on the mixture of ATA drives with different speed capabilities and no restrictions on what cable you use, whether 40 wire or 80 strand (but still 40 pins).

Faster drives will only work at the speed of the slowest car on any cable and 80 strand cables are needed to make ATA66 or higher drives run at their native speed.

In addition, no player can work faster than the motherboard chipset permits, in your case ATA66.

My provider of trade has still some disks 3.5 '' PATA in stock, but these are becoming harder and harder to find. Indeed, it is possible that production has ceased and that suppliers are just exhausted stocks.

I can certainly say that, when repairs this technology were more frequent, I never had problems with discs theoretically faster on the same cable as slower drives, nor by using faster on 40 cable strands discs. In fact, of many penny pinching manufacturers (some of them major) regularly used for the optical drive and hard drive on the same cable as the motherboard has two connectors, resulting in a decrease in performance on the disk hard (although most of the people would not have noticed the difference). Sometimes, the cable would be 40 strand (understandable if you are penny pinching) and sometimes the cable would be 80 strand (laughable if you are penny pinching because they are [were] more expensive).

Pass your question about vacant below the sound card. Unless your text confused me, this space is for expansion cards no disk drives. Space that you reference is probably to the back of the PC. Hard drives are normally located toward the front of the dedicated PC "berries". Unfortunately, I could find no photo on the Toshiba site, and still less those internal.

Please be specific on what you mean by "far from many errors on the hard drive."  What kind of mistakes? Do you mean the drive read errors? Please quote the error message you get exact, verbatim.

How many mistakes is "too much"? How many times they do they happen? They occur only when doing certain things or anything?

If you really get a lot of the drive read errors, the drive is defective and must be replaced.

But if you're talking about freezing, slow, etc. This is another question entirely, and I wouldn't call it 'errors on the hard drive. The little info you provided the mind, it is difficult to know what this problem is, but one of the things these days plussusceptibles is malware infection. What antivirus do you run (they are far from being just as good, and some of the most popular are among the worst). Do you also run an anti-spyware program? If not, it's * very * likelythat you are infected. I recommend that you download and run the free MalwareBytes AntiMalware to http://www. Malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

  • I want to add a Windows operating system. It takes on the boot drive?

I have all of the required components to install Windows on a Mac Pro using VMware Fusion. The operating system Windows needs to be installed on the Mac startup drive, or can it be on its own internal drive? All the descriptions that I can find on the installation of Windows on a Mac leave a lot out and seem to assume that there is only a single disk and that the user knows all about the installation process. Should I format the Windows disc first? With what file system? I install the Windows OS first, then install VMware and hope she finds the installation? Who does what to whom and when? All links to this topic?

    Yes you can. See:

The only condition is that it must be installed on the internal drive. There are ways to move later to an external drive

  • Performance of the hard drive, runs at 30% all the time; slow response

Pavilion Slimline works 30% all the time, slow at times, all the time. Run the Task Manager, identified all of the questions.

Defragmentation, historical, navigation can be run. Registry cleaner also run.

    Still slow responses,

Suspect still running games, must stop them, as well as other unnecessary programs.

Any suggestions, useful, believe, this will solve the problem and improve poor performance.

Thank you for the comprehensive answer. If the speed is the main problem now, theoretically, upgrading the hard drive would be able to increase the speed up to a point. Of course, this would impact speed of normal programs, programs on the web, etc. I also carefully read the document provided Red Rose, and although it is informative, I don't know about most in this paper has been tried.

Regarding the age of the laptop, age obviously decreases the computer's full performance, and you have little control over this, unless you buy another computer.

I have an idea of how research and troubleshooting have achieved you, but it is only an idea. I'll link some documents with information that you may or may not be useful:

  • If I put all my files on the C drive that has the operating system and make a recovery of keys one, will I lose my files?

If I put all my files on the C drive that has the operating system and make a recovery of keys one, will I lose my files? drive C whereas the partition that has the operating system and drive D is the lenovo drive that has all the drivers lenovo and all those. Did I lose my files?

Yes, the collection clears all of the C drive and you will lose your files. The solution would be to backup regularly to an external HARD drive and after the key one to also restore the files from the external hard drive.

This has been answered before, if you do a search for "key recovery" it appears among the first results.

  • How can I get the installer for my application check the operating system type and then install the correct driver type?

I have a request that I wrote and have been use and distribute for awhile. The installer I created for this application is an additional installer to install a driver for the USB connection. The USB connection is actually a virtual COM Port. The problem is that the people who drafted modified driver setup the installation program itself. They used to have an installer that would check for 32-bit or 64-bit OS and then install the appropriate driver.

Now, they have two distinct installation programs: one for the other for 32-bit and 64-bit. They let the user know their OS and install the appropriate driver. I'd rather not have to rely on my users to do. From what I've seen the creater Installer provides that an executable to be run after the application installs.

Is it possible to have the installer of the application, check the type of OS and then run the correct executable file after installing my application? I think that I could write an Installer 'wrapper' that checks the type of operating system then executes the correct Installer. But I expect a better solution.

    Thank you
    Joe

    So, I make it work!

The trick is to find a way to determine what type of OS you are using. The method I used was, indeed, read the environment variable. A buddy of mine sent me this link:

http://StackOverflow.com/questions/2401756/how-to-find-if-the-machine-is-32bit-or-64bit One of the phrases he bibliography the Processor_Architecture environment variable.

It seemed like a reasonable idea. So I started to research how read LV it environment variables turns out, you do it by reading a registry key. There is an example of LV on how to read a registry key. But I did not know where they are in the registry. So, I searched the Processor_Architecture registry. I found it in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Session Manager\Environment.

According to the article in the link, this value will already be x 86 for a 32 bit OS, or something with 64 inside. I just check the response for x 86 string. If it is, I just run the x 86 version of the driver Installer. Otherwise, I run the x 64 version.

It turned out to be as simple as that.

    I hope this helps someone.

Please help me as soom as possible...

    Thank you...

    Hello

In this case, you can delete the partitions - as you have already removed the original operating system, you would not be able to create a set of recovery discs from the recovery Partition that you have lost the application Recovery Manager required to create, but you can always order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below.

    Order HP recovery disks.

If you ever need it, the HP_TOOLS partition can be re-created by downloading and installing the software on the link below.

    HP of UEFI environment.

  • Want to m6-k088ca: m6-k088ca tea spilled want fried HARD drive. try to load the operating system on the new drive HARD get no found boot device

Hi I want to m6 - k088ca it came with Windows 8, I've updated to 8.1 has a 64-bit operating system. I spilt tea on it and fried hard drive.

Try to save money I bought a 500 GB hard drive instead of a 1 TB of HDD, it can with. Install it and then through the process to implement the recovery program and try to load the image of the system on my USB key. Recovery program did come and I tried to load the System Image to my USB disk hard nine, but nothing happened.

I have only kept getting no device found startup message after the attempt to load of the System Image. Discover your forum, I discovered that I could not use the Image of the system on nothing less than what was originally on my computer a 1 TB hard drive. So, I went out and I tried to install Image system on it. I was unable to implement the recovery program I had before. I went to the boot options and he set up to boot from the key USB didn't keep get no boot device found message. After trying several different ways to do it, I made a test drive and kept getting unavailable message. I've reset the hard drive wiped clean all connections and was still unable to do a hard drive test, so I assumed that there was something wrong with the hard drive has returned to where I got it from. Then went to another bank and picked up another.

First thing I did was a fast hard drive test and it happened.

I tried to install e system on nw HDD image with no luck. I have never been able to implement the program of recovery since that first time. With the help of your forum, that I have que j' ai tente tried to load my picture of the system a couple of different ways but get no found boot device message.

Have I may have something to corrupt the system on my USB key Image trying to download it on a smaller hard disk?

I went to the view of Windows and try to download Windows 8 on an another USB and then tried to download it and continue to spread the message no boot device found. I tried this download on my g6 HP Pavilion with Windows 7 64 bit operating system. This is why it did not work because I use a computer with Windows 7 and not Windows 8?

    Thanks Bill
