Since I've run the attached script in the Guide to optimizing VMware View for Windows 7 on my virtual offices for example, Internet Explorer and Adobe Reader does not start. There is always an error message that says sth. as you are trying to access an invalid address.

    Best regards

    Hello

I have attached the script but at the same time, I found the problem:

    REM disable address space randomization
    Reg ADD "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management" v MoveImages /t REG_DWORD /d 0 x 0 f

After removing this entry in the registry and a reboot, the problem has been resolved.

  • Is a new virtual Center required for deployment of Horizon view 6 / licensing issues

    Hey all,.

Just curious to know if it is required or existing best practice to install a separate virtual Center for your environment from view of the Horizon, or if it is correct to attach it in your VC.

Also, reading that I've done, it seems that when you buy Horizon display 6 advances you get ESXi licenses as well?  Is it true.

When it comes to the Windows 7 license you ave h to buy anything for your VDI VMware or do you just an open license / SA with Microsoft for Windows 7/8

I think the projections and business decisions will do that for you.   Some circles have separate teams who manage desktop and server infrastructure.  In these scenarios, you can have a dedicated instance for VDI and the office team.     In other environments, you can be a small shop where a couple of technicians do everything.   In this environment, it can be allowed to have a single vCenter.     I still hate the TI depends on the answers, but in this case it really depends on your environment and how you want to manage.

2: based on the comparison on the site, all the editions come with vSphere and vCenter for desktop.    I read you right, but I would check with a specialist VMware licenses.

3: Just that you have the licenses required in view and vSphere VMware wants.  They do not all control over your Microsoft licenses.

Well Yes new feature. Is VMware view Client unbundling

    Take a look at

    http://www.VMware.com/files/PDF/view/VMware-view-evaluators-Guide.PDF

    from pg 87

    On page 88, he says

Portal of the view on the login server see the landing Page

The URL root view connection server is hosting a view portal or download customer portal, as the default value, the destination page. The page contains instructions to launch an existing customer of the view and a link to a download page to the VMware.com website that contains a client compatible with the detected operating system version.

The portal of the view is more directly initiates a Client installation view, but instead allows the user to manually call the installation process.

  • PCoIP zero client does not display an Horizon view Client user of the window for one (and only one)

When I connect the customer to see I'm automatically redirected to the WinXP for HER, without going through the window that lists usually all available virtual PC. This happens on all terminals, I tried. Other users, even if you connect to the same terminal, are given the option to select a virtual PC, even if they have the choice of a!

I have checked the setting for the PC virtual in the Teradici PCoIP Management Console and also the settings of the user under the Horizon view VMware administrator but cannot find where my configurations user and desktop are different from those that work "correctly".

Is someone able to propose what I'm looking for?

    TIA

    Thanks, Stu, for your input.

I arrived on the solution after you follow through with your suggestion above. I used the client on a Windows PC, then after that record on I clicked on 'Options' in the bar of VMwareView Client session and erased the text is 'auto connect to this office. We have the option 'Enable automatic reconnection' set to false, so I'm not sure why that followed me.

  • Horizon view 7, Windows 10, Apex 2800, results of initial connection to the single monitor, later work very well

Hey guys, this is the configuration.

    View of the horizon 7.0.0

    ESXi 6.0 build 3620759 (U2)

Apex 2800 and driver package 2.5.3 (supports for Windows 10 and vSphere 6)

    Windows 10 x 64

    VMware Tools 10.0.8

The symptom is on the initial connection, the second monitor is not same display and the primaries to the resolution no standard. Try to whittle down where it is. PCoIP server log shows that APEX is only used for one of the monitors, which is not good. Later connections show using Apex for two. Apex driver is installed in the Windows 10 comments as well as ESXi. Think it is purely a question of Teradici, but thought I'd post here in case someone else has experienced.

I was able to work around the problem by making a pool out of the gold statue and by connecting to it with a zero client, by disconnecting and then reconnecting in. Then I built the pool out of this statue in gold which had already been connected with a zero client. For good measure, I also reinstalled the drivers of the Apex in the gold statue.

  • Problem with USB Redirection on Horizon View Client v2.3.0 for Linux

I had a problem on the USB Redirection when connecting to the Server of VMware View by Horizon View Client v2.3.0.

    1. Here is our configuration:
      1. Server:
        1. Horizon View Server 5.5 + Windows 7 Enterprise VDI
      2. Client:
        1. Thin client (TI ARM platform - 8148)
        2. Horizon View Client v2. 3 for Linux
        3. USB Flash: Kingston 8 GB USB 2.0, FAT32
    2. The issue: USB flash can not redirect to VDI successfully.
    3. Some status on our test:
    • The USB is plugged USB port on workstation before connecting to Horizon view Server 5.5
    • Light client can recognize and use USB flash to the local site.
    • When we connect to VDI, we can see the USB driver is responsible for research and installation, but windows VDI() reports fail to install the USB driver finally. It seems that VDI trying to acknowledge the failure of USB flash but finally.
    • It is held even Let's restart the workstation and VDI.
    • Attached file is the log of the Horizon of the VMware View Client.

    All welcomed to this topic?

Unfortunately the newspapers show much... (note: they do not contain client-side logs)

one thing I thought well... since he is a computer thinClient - we have seen the questions that manufacturers computer thinClient some of their own 'management' software install on the client. He often tries to do things with usb devices (maybe try to share them between a receiver client citrix application and view client app or maybe just there is a citrix receiver application installed too). In our experience, we've seen these apps interfere between them as they try to hang the bottom of usb devices down into the kernel.

as such, could you try stop any 3rd party services - either citrix or your provider of thin client and then try again.

If the problem persists, can you be sure to also collect these log files from the computer thinclient:

    Windows client

    • %ProgramData%\VMware\VDM\logs\debug-*.txt
      AND
    • C:\Windows\Temp\vmware-SYSTEM\vmware-usbarb-*.log

    Linux client

    • default /tmp/vmware-root/VMware-view-Usbd-*.log
      AND
    • / Library/Logs/VMware/vmware-usbarbitrator -.log

for reference, the Agent-side usb connects:

    • %ProgramData%\VMware\VDM\logs\debug-*.txt

    see you soon

  • Cannot get Horizon view 5.3.1 to use Windows CA certificate issued

    Hello

I have a Horizon view 5.3 vConnection Server installed and wanted to replace the self-signed certificate with one of my MS Enterprise CA (Win 2008 R2 Ent).

I followed the instructions of these two pages, I think exactly:

Terence Luk: certification for VMware view Horizon 5.2 with Microsoft Enterprise certification authority servers http://terenceluk.blogspot.co.UK/2013/04/issuing-certificates-for-VMware-horizon.html

    http://www.derekseaman.com/2012/09/create-VMware-Windows-CA-certificate.html

    I took the steps:

On my Win 2008 R2 Ent (standalone) CA, I reproduced the compatible under Windows 2003 CA Web server certificate template.

Changed the use of the key to activate non-repudiation and "allow encryption of user data.

Authentication of the Client added to enforcement strategies

Confirmed that the name of the topic has been set to "provide in the request.

Confirmed the vConnection Server computer account has the required permissions (btw, I even gave total control and the problem persists - is not a permissions problem)

Added the new model to the list available to be issued (CA MMC > Certificate Templates > New > model certificate for the question)

From the vConnection server, I open the MMC snap-in certificates, computer store

I asked a new personal certificate from my CA and selected the newly created model

I have completed only the FQDN internal of my server vConnection CN: [CN = "vmwv-vncenctn - 01.mydomain.local"]

I updated the friendly name and description "vdm".

I changed the friendly name of the empty self-signed certificate

I restarted Windows vConnection server just to make sure that all the necessary services were restarted

I cannot now connect to during a service of vConnection's web management interface - Page cannot be found.  If I have the friendly name of vdm revert to the original self signed certificate and restart services, access is restored.

Please can someone help me with this.  I spent two days pulling my hair and getting nowhere.

    Thank you

    C

    Follow rather official VMware documentation.

    http://pubs.VMware.com/view-52/topic/com.VMware.ICbase/PDF/horizon-view-52-obtaining-certificates.PDF

In particular, make sure that your use of improved key contains the correct value.

  • Cannot open a picture, how do I restore my Windows Photo Viewer for Windows 8?

I have a Dell Inspiron with Windows 8 operating system, recently after having been infected with a malware (was already cleaned up), I'm not able to use the PHOTO VIEWER, since I keep getting a message saying that I either need to update the photo viewer or my calculation is not compatible.  I tried to see if Microsoft has a updated, but all available is for Windows 10.

  • Horizon view Agent 6.0.2 Windows 8.1 desktop - size setting display scale causes mouse which will be pasted in the top left corner

    Hello

I am having some problems when I try to adjust the size to the scale option in the Virtual Office Windows 8.1 with view agent 6.0.2. When I try to change the scale via Control Panel -> display -> option to change the size of all the items ( view failover control settings is disabled by VMware KB: Settings tab is not available in the display panel of a Horizon view desktop locally when t...). After that, the mouse pointer gets suddenly blocked until the upper-left corner, and I'm unable to move the mouse pointer on this corner that the mouse pointer continues new jump in him. When I change the scale to the original (use the keyboard to change the setting), the behavior of mouse pointer returns to normal.

    Anyone else having this problem?

Found the solution by adding a registry entry:

    Location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Teradici\PCoIP\pcoip_admin_defaults

    Name: pcoip.disable_cursor_jumping

    Type: REG_DWORD

    Data: 1

After that it is defined on the parent image and recomposed (or reboot if you want to set this on a persistent desktop computer), there is no more mouse pointer jumps after changing the scale of the fonts/AC.

This was indeed listed in KB here — not exactly the problem listed in the KB, but it is quite similar:

  • Help with renovation Horizon View client for Mac

I'm packaging the client VMware View Horizon for our Mac desktops and laptops (we have about 150). Normally, it is a very simple and very easy process with this client because it is just a soft. We use Apple PackageMaker to repackage the Horizon of VMware View Client.appand add the plist for the test user for the deployment of future users profiles. We used some com.vmware.view.plist in the past to ensure that our connection to the server is prefilled and force PCoIP. It has worked great for us with all < 2.3 versions.

From 2.3 and 3.0 now, I have not been able to repackage the application correctly. I have download the .dmg to VMware and copy the .app in it in / applications; This is exactly how a user would install it on their system. I run the Client discovers once and connect to our login server using the settings I want to paste when you deploy this application to our machines. Then using PackageMaker, I point the first part of the package that will be created for Applications/Vmware view Horizon Client.app as usual (including the roots). It's normal. I choose com.vmware.view.plist file, and I'm using a plist Editor, delete the entry for my test user name and office that I'm connected to. In PackageMaker, the destination of this .plist file is in the default profile for the mac - so whenever a new user connects to the mac, they will receive the file .plist with the parameters we want. Sounds good. The package is built successfully. I deploy it on a machine to test successfully.

    When I connect on a test system and run the client from the view, I can connect properly. If I try to use the menu connection/printing enabled, all hell breaks loose and I get a series of errors;

    Invalid file in the package.

    The file is not valid:

    / Applications/VMware Horizon view Client.app/Contents/Library/thnuclnt/thnusetup.sh.

    Please download the official product.

    If I try to start services remotely USB, I get a similar error once it issues a warning that I will be asked to enter the credentials of the admin;

    Invalid file in the package.

    The file is not valid:

    / Applications/VMware Horizon view Client.app/Contents/Library/InitUsbServices.tool.

    Please download the official product.

?? If I run the app from the .dmg on this same machine, I have no problem. Any ideas?

OK, I just had to put the question so that I could think clearly through it.

There are some extended attributes on these shell scripts that PackageMaker removes when it reconditions the app. I conditioned as a .dmg, and copy the app via the postinstall script in the pkg... works very well after that.
