  Never thought while staring at me on purpose to create a labview application that I need to be a computer expert! However, I am still sustained here on this forum, I thank you all and here's another!

  I have developed a large application that calls subvis dynamically. Whenever a called dynamically Subvi is closed and another is responsible, the memory of the previous Subvi is not released. Therefore, I could see in the resource manager that my memory RAM 'physically used' keep creeping up, closer to the memory of 8 GB.

  All I want is when I close a dynamic called Subvi, all memory he held RAM is released and all its data are kind of thrown out of RAM. Is this possible? Or I'm going to be ridiculous!

• Optimization of memory with several screens

  Hello

  I have several screens in my application and each screen has a few custom controls and bitmap images.

  When I move from one screen to another screen, I have more need not old screen. What is the best way to completely eliminate the permeable screen? I also want to eliminate all objects created by this screen as well.

  I had a deep look in the forums and books, but I can't find or think of a good solution.

  By defining a null object is not the same as references - definition of a null reference only removes only one reference.

  For example, if you create a field, add to a Manager, then the reference to the null field, then your code is no longer refers to the field.  However, the field is still referenced by the Manager.

  While I was running an explicit signal project, a window pops up that says "no memory to perform this operation" and "memory is full" in the power spectrum. Then he paused data collection.   You push the limits of what can do SignalExpress.  You acquire data points about 8 million (internally, it is integrated 64MBytes, since they are arrays of doubles).  Analysis carried out additional copies of data (the originals must be kept for future use).  To do this, we need to minimize copies of data.  You have several options, in order of complexity:
  

  1. Take your data and store it in a file for later analysis.  Thanks to the acquisition of the data streaming into smaller pieces (10kS in the 100kS buffer) it would be easier to do using the SignalExpress integrated logging mechanism.  When you have finished to acquire data, analyze point by point in a different project, using the log for the entry.  This allows you to cut your use of memory by a factor of eight or more.  Note that the newspapers (which is a binary format - TDMS) can be converted to ASCII, if you wish.
  2. Your input file have specific areas of interest?  You can generate and analyze in pieces.  This isn't my first suggestion, as a power spectrum can be easily generated with segmented data (it is possible and National Instruments sells software for it, but it is not included in SignalExpress).  However, if you can live with ghosts of different power of different regions, this may be an option.  You have not included your file to generate, so I can't speculate further.  If you do so, back up your data to each piece.
  3. If you have LabVIEW, you can rewrite the project relatively easily here (the entire analysis is available as screw).  LabVIEW allows to optimize the memory at a much lower level that the Signal Express (see the tutorial Managing large data sets in LabVIEW, for example).
  The R & D department is aware of this problem of memory and strives to do better.  It is a question with many facets, so generally gets progressively improved with each release of SignalExpress.  If you would like more information, please let us know.

  You really need to stop fixing on memory. We have already established that the memory is currently NOT a problem. We have identified the following two issues:
  1 Excel, for some reason, uses far too much of your CPU cylces (no memory).
  2. There is at least one instance of explorer.exe by using too much CPU cycles (even if your PC was supposed to be inactive). You MUST exclude a malware infection before anything else!
  I offered you advice:
  1 post in the forum of users of Excel.
  2. switch to another program of worksheet if you are unable to solve your problem of Excel.
  3 disable indexing (which said you you would).
  4 search for malicious software.

  Windows tell me that it cannot use 1.74 GB of the 4 GB memory installed on my computer.

  I read similar questions, but usually people can use up to 2.53 GB when it's only memory remapping.

  My second memory stick (2 GB) was installed when I bought my computer at best buy.

• Not enough memory error

  I get an error when I try to start a 4th guest who says that I don't have enough memory.  I'm pretty sure that this is not the case.  My pc has 16 GB of ram and clients are configured with 2 GB of memory each.  Because three guests starts very well, by my calculations I use 6 GB.  Some Go for Windows & workstation figure in overhead and I'd still be able to on the 4th guest.

  When I had only 8 GB of RAM, I was able to turn two of the guests going up to 16 GB should get at least a two other guests when they are set up to 2 GB each.  This should be only 8 GB of RAM for the guests, leaving the other 8 GB for Windows and work stations.

  Am I missing something?

• WARNING: iCloud library deletes the original photos on Mac

  Recently, I turned on the library to iCloud in the Photos app preferences. I chose the option "Download this Mac originals," not "optimize Mac memory" so all my original full quality photos will remain on my Mac and probably be safe. After uploading to the cloud ended (took a while), I made a backup of my Mac using Retrospect. I noticed that a lot (almost all by the number of GB) photos were being backed up, what happens if the file or its attributes modified. I was wondering why to send photos to the cloud would change my photo files. I decided to review individual cases to see if there were differences from the original versions. (Luckily, I had a clone of my HD last week, which had all my photos some before iCloud photo library has been activated.) So I could compare the originals on the clone for the pictures changed on my Mac's hard drive.)

  To find files modified more easy, I used sync Pro, which gives me a list of files that it thinks are different. I discovered that more than 150 of my 9500 photos have been deleted after turning on iCloud photo library! It was shocking, but it is good news.

  I have carefully reviewed the photos maybe a decade or two that had been deleted. If they had any duplicates which were not deleted. In other words, apparently Photos, trying to send photos to iCloud, reviewed my photos and remove duplicates from my hard drive. By comparing these duplicates, I have found not all were an exact replica, as follows.

  • Several photos appear to be identical files with the same size and file modification dates. Actually duplicates, thus eliminating one is without real loss, although I don't like deletions of software that Apple all of my original photos at first.
  • Some 'duplicates' had different size files. It's relative. In all these cases, examine photos of GraphicConverter revealed that Photos had deleted the photo of lower quality, depending on the quality of compression ratio or %. (The photo of lower quality is not always a smaller file size.)
  • Some "double" had same file sizes but different modification dates. I think that, in these cases, pictures kept the old file, which would probably be the original.
  • Some have had different file size and date to change different.  In these cases the Photos deleted the photo of lower quality.

  Based on examination of a small percentage of the total number of deleted duplicates, Photos seem to be taken of intelligent decisions on how to remove duplicate.

  What I don't know, is how or why most photo changed during the download process to iCloud, such files as revealed by Retrospect. But looking at my photos, I did not notice any obvious problems.

  Implementation of Apple to iCloud library caused similar problems when I tried first. He changed most of my files of songs (according to retrospective). When this happened, I have restored the original files of the song from a backup and off the musical library to iCloud. I gave Apple several months for bugs and the week last tried railway. This time, it seems to go smoothly and none of my songs files have been changed. Now I'm enjoyimg music Apple and the possibility to add streaming music to my playlists.

  I like to be able to view my pictures on all my Apple devices, and when the next tvOS comes out soon, I'll be able to view my library on my Apple TV iCloud too. So I won't restore all my photos from a backup, then off iCloud photo library. Here's hoping that I find out later that one of my favorite photos are definitely missing or altered.

  Based on examination of a small percentage of the total number of deleted duplicates, Photos seem to be taken of intelligent decisions on how to remove duplicate.

  I noticed similar symptoms.  When I import a picture that is a duplicate of one already in my library of Photos, both copies will share the same original image file in the folder of masters. Photos allows you to import duplicates, but will store only one version. This makes it almost impossible to replace JPEG corrupted by the restored versions of a backup.

  You can watch iCloud checking for duplicates while you download new photos. Launch the Console.app and look for the process 'photomodell '. You will see many entries like this:

If you have two hard drives - best create the pagefile on no system disk. The min and max sizes of pagefile should be equal - not different.
  4 turn off System Restore. (Start / computer/properties/Advanced Settings/System Protection.) If UAC will ask you confirmation - allow)
  5. turn off the Hibernation (start programs/guest/in the context menu, choose "Run as Administrator" and in the command line write * powercfg OFF h *)
  6. cut unused services (do not turn it off completely - do, then manually run)
  7 edit the registry:

  I created the SignalExpress 2.5 project simple. I use this file some time and whenever I made a few changes, I simply saved this evolution.

  Then I discovered that my *.seproj file size begins to develop. There are now 100 000kBytes and I don't know why!

  Whenever I have only open (not run, just open) and save, it's bigger.

  Is this a bug? I've been lookinmg in Tools/Options to check if Setup is OK and he couldn't find something that can help me.

  Is there a way to "optimize/defrag/or what" to reduce the size of the file?

  This is caused by a problem in an underlying component of NOR shared.

  To reduce your size, you will need to
  Create a new project (.seproj) and recreate the content of the former
  project.  You should be able to copy and paste your project steps
  to another, but you have to re-create the data views.  Your file
  size again increases with each new project backup until you
  have the new version of the shared software component.

  Structure of the Inplace element was introduced back in BT 8 (do not remember exact version). From LV 8.6 after 2009 and 2010, NOR brought significant changes to the way in which the block diagram is compiled into executable code (requiring the RTE of LV).

  Experience shows that the use of the current versions of LV (2010 and following), the Structure of the element Inplace doesn't have much beneficial effect as the compiler (GER) optimizes already most of the situations where performance could be increased; honestly, in some situations, the use of this structure is TOfold performance because the compiler must optimize the NOT on its own within this structure.

  Still, there are a few cases where this structure can improve the keys to performance (such as the use of memory) when used with caution. And there are some cases where you use this structure, namely when using data value references.

• Cannot stay connected to the network, even after replacing my old router.

  I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L655 is one year old and its operating system is Windows 7 home Premium I have Comcast internet service and use a NetGear wireless router.

  Recently, about 2 months ago I got this router in Comcast, in replacement of my old 1. Why I asked that a new router was the former 1 had problems to stay connected to the internet. The problem persisted even with the new router so I look at it is not not a problem with Comcast or the router. I tried resetting the connection, the son, restart the router, diagnostics running on my laptop and are not yet able to resolve the problem. I run disc optimization, defragment the hard drive, run many virus / spyware scans and tried to disable startup programs as much as possible. This problem has frustrated me for months and I want to get it resolved. It sucks paying all that money for equipment and service and there not work directly without having to spend more money, which I have unfortunately not yet. Any help is very appreciated.
