  The software provided with the Deskjet 1055 does not come with an Iris OCR software. You can buy OCR software separately.

  When you hit E in order to export, it should give you an option in the dialog box to choose what type of pdf you want to create.

• "Add open files" option to optimize scanned PDF files

  Acrobat Pro XI lets me select an open PDF file on which to run the text recognition, with the possibility to add open files.

  I would do the same thing when you use optimize scanned Documents or OCR and optimization features.  But with them, I don't see an Option add open files and do not understand why, since it was available when I used the operation to reduce the size of file in Acrobat 9 Standard.  It's a huge time saver.

  I had hoped that OCR and Optimize function would allow me to do two operations at the same time, on some open files.  Is there a way to add files opened during optimization in Acrobat Pro XI?  If this is not the case, this functionality can be restored?

  Full disclosure: I essentially asked this question several months ago and two useful experts suggested Actions to build, but finally I'm the spokesperson, they did not.  I gave up and reinstalled Acrobat 9 Standard because this feature was so important to me.  Since Acrobat 9 is no longer supported and I switched to Windows 10 I clenched my teeth, reinstalled Pro XI and got another go at him.  Thank you.

  Hi James,

  Acrobat Pro XI does not "add open files" and the Action works on the currently opened file, which makes another stream of necessary work.  You can customize one of the Actions, to better meet your needs, but should be available in a folder open files.  Alternatively, you could move to Acrobat Pro DC.

• How did you uncheck an option button in a PDF form fillable so that no presets do exist on the form?

  I've converted a document to PDF to fill with radio buttons.  In an article, one of the buttons is selected on the design, form and I can't understand how to erase it.  When the form is opened by a user, a single button (let's call it A box) is already filled.  A user can select another button, and disappears from the box A selection.  But I do not want the boxes checked when the user gets the form.  I tried to remove the radio and add a new button, but the selection is displayed in the new button as well.  Any ideas?

  In Acrobat 11 you would select: Tools > forms > more options forms > clear form

  Acrobat 9: form > clear form

  Preview is the default on Mac PDF Viewer. It should never be used with PDF Forms. Let them know that they must use Adobe Reader. Provide a link or a URL where it can be downloaded and let them know that it's free.

  There are things you can do to make it work not in the preview, but it's some scripts. If you are interested in this approach, post again.

• CS6 - no option to save in .pdf file

  I always saved my work (both in CS4 and CS6) as .pdf and .psd. I'm working on a new .psd just as I always have, but when I try to save there is no option to save as a .pdf file. I created it in CS4 and the option is not there and I also imported the CS6 .psd and the option is not to be. Any ideas?

  You use the 32-bit/channel for the document mode.  Change it to 16-bit/channel if you need to be able to save a PDF file.

  May have forgotten a few things so I didn't use this option for some time.

  In InDesign, under Edit > Aplatissements predefined transparencies, I created a new preset and included the ability to convert all text to outlines text.

  However, when I try to export to a PDF file, the option to select a transparency flattener preset is grayed out.

  Can you tell me what I do wrong? It drives me crazy! : ()

  (There was originally no transparency in the file, so I created some with a white square the value 0.5% opacity).

• With Adobe Pro DC I'm able to attach a JPG file to my digital ID when you create a custom look. On a computer with Adobe Reader DC, I don't have the option to attach a PDF, not a jpg.

  What I mean by don't have no ability, is that when I click on browse for a photo, one and only type/file format from the context menu of Windows Explorer is PDF.

  It is correct. Acrobat Reader can use PDF files.

  I recently had trouble opening a PDF that has been attached to an e-mail, and while mucking around with it, I tried it opens in Word (which did not help this particular issue anyway).  Unfortunately, now, all my PDFs by email automatically open in Word instead of Acrobat Reader.

  So now, that my question is, how do them automatically open in Acrobat reader directly from the attachment by e-mail instead of Word? For the moment, I have to save them all to my c: drive, then right-click on it and select open with Acrobat Reader 10.  What I want is that they will automatically open in Acrobat Reader 10 rather than having to save their all my c: push first because I have many, many of them in print.  Can someone help me with this please?

  Can you try to save any PDF on your local computer (say C:\) and then right-click on the same.

  1. click on the "open with > chose the program.

  2. Select Adobe Reader 10 and make sure you check the box "always use the selected program to open this type of file."

  3. click OK and you should be good to go.

  Sorry, there no function 'help' built-in to Firefox. Small one Firefox used to have was removed [as] 8 years ago or something close.

  No, the menu option has changed however. Look for the cloud with the arrow down. This is the new option 'make available offline '.
