    Who is eligible?

Candidates should be proficient in their field of expertise and demonstrate their willingness to share their knowledge and experiences. Areas of activity or contribution include but are not limited to:

    Oracle Discussion forums

Presentations of content such as technical documents, articles, code samples, utilities

As I understand the simple way is to try to respond to the user oracle here and become ACE... Now here some people ask me what is Oracle ACE. Because people know 2 certificate on Oracle OCP-OCA-COM here, but they do not know ACE! When people asked me what is oracle ACE what I should say! can we say average ACE is more high level of OCP or CMO? The response that gives too many people here enough to become ACE after get enough point?

I want to become ACE but if its average I should know as HUSSEIN SNOUSSI its seems impossible (perhaps when I get 90 :)))

There's too much oracle ACE Director... This person has a higher of the Oracle ACE status? I'm really confused here and need help :)

A response can be so good to me

    Thank you very much

  • Oracle ACE

    Hi all

I saw in forums.oracle are some ACE & administration.

It is all recognization of ORACLE? It is useful anywhere? Who are qualified people?

    Thank you

Thanks for the links. Its helpful

    Here at one point.
If we contribute in OTN, then also eligible. This average is bottleneck? must be how many points?

There are several ways to contribute to the community - forums is only one way. There are many ACEs who do not participate in the forums at all - they participate in speaking at conferences, writing white papers, books, articles, etc.

If we have 5000 + points & ORACLE 10 g / 11g OCÉ then eligible for membership of the ACE?

The points are meaningless - it's the quality and the knowledge demonstrated in the messages of the forum which is important.

Also, I read a few posts of CEA members, there are still a few validation errors. Thease all will be before giving this recognization?

We are all human and no one knows everything about a specific subject - there is no manifest of surveillance I know - the forums are monitored in a sense, where faults or errors can be highlighted by others and auto corrected. It's all part of learning.

I think Billy Verreynne should be an ACE of the Oracle.
Please replay to this post in order to support this idea.

Thank you all. Very much appreciated. And especially the two guys who went to all the effort to go through the nomination process.

Yes... I didn't expect any of this at all. Never really crossed my mind trying to become an ACE of the Oracle. I think that most of us who help here regularly do it because we love the challenges and solutions of the problems. And if we can help a person in the process too, so much better. It comes not to score points or trying to trade in the turnip for a symbol of the ace in the future.

In this regard, there is therefore turnips colleagues here who deserve more recognition. :-)

  • Monitor virtual machine JAVA on Oracle ACE form and reports

    Dear experts,

I'm in the form of Oracle on AIX 6.1 10.1.2.3 and report on AIX 5.3.

Can I monitor the JVM use on these two platform for forms and report service as it is sufficient for the opmn.xml file distribution n (Xmx 512 M.)?

These jvm settings work for java, due components the webcache is not a java component, we cannot use these parameters to check the
    use of memory.

However, if another applications deployed in OC4J container, you can set the parameters for this container.

  • Discs with voting rights are not visible in 11 GR 2 under ASM

    Hi all

I had built a 11.2.0.3 new CAR configuration at 2 knots.
When I run crsctl query css votedisk - here is the list of discs with right to vote, but when I go to the spot using asmcmd, I am not able to see them.

Is there a particular reason for it / problem with my installation.

    Thank you.

    Hello Sandeep

    sandeep_dba wrote:

hide? It is a strong word. Don't forget that asmcmd require an ASM instance to be operational. asmcmd is a convenience tool.

Disks with voting rights are accessible even before that ASM is available, as CSS is started before ASM by profile of negotiators. Thus, discs with voting rights are stored in a specific location in the ASM disk itself header area. Fritz blogged about this: http://fritshoogland.wordpress.com/2010/03/03/where-is-the-voting-disk-in-asm/

I've hidden the name of the table for various reasons, but if you have alook at 34 and 31 stages they do not correspond to the top. I'm more curious to know why he thinks, he spent 10 minutes on the step 34 when he finished step 31 in 2 minutes and 22 seconds. And elapse time total of this request is 2 minutes and 23 seconds.

This can happen if you use the flag "gather_plan_statistics" instead of define statistics_level to 'all '.

It is related to the sampling frequency used.

  • 10g doesn't use ITL?

    Hi guys,.

I'm going through some old posts of mine that I'm back to the Oracle study.

I read in the thread can insert bulk data two operations at the same time? that

In older versions of 10 g, we had a slot of the ITL to the header of the block which must be completed before making a change to the block. If all the slots are full so the session must wait to the block write operations are completed. Once the change of block by a full session the ITL slot in this session is released and the transaction pending can go ahead and change the block. However, if two transactions modify the same row in the block then the first transaction has to commit or rollback for the second. +

In 10 G and above all we use mutexes and none ITL slot. +

    Is this correct?

    Thank you.

No - read the answers in your link by Oracle ACE Hans Forbrich.

Mutex and ITL slots are two different things altogether. A mutex is a pinning or serialization mechanism. In 10G and above all they are used in places instead of locks. Generally protect it 'memory' and are stored in a file.

ITL slots are physical and are kept in a file.

  • SmartView working with Essbase: preserve formulas

Hi everyone, everyone has to keep the formulas in the worksheet even a connected to Essbase using Smart View?

The documentation says that "the option"Preserve the formula to change POV"is only the data forms in Hyperion Enterprise, planning and financial management".

I put the options to "Preserve the formula on POV changes", but I am having two main problems:

-The formulas in the worksheet as well as the recovered data and its data disappear during the updating of the cube
-The formulas that reference the retrieved data, which are located in other spreadsheets get the cell reference converted to #REF during the updating of the cube.

I assumed that the two problems are because this incompatibility between Smart View and Essbase (it should work with planning and HFM)

    Thanks in advance

The desired functionality works as expected in the typical add-in (which explains why many, many customers still use this add-in).

  • Difference between Director Ace and Ace Member

What is the difference between Ace Director and member of the Ace?
because I've seen recently a Director of Ace Ace adhering... (John)

You didn't read the link I provided, did you?
Director ACE are not higher than the CEA members, they have more things to commit to as 'ability to commit to participation in an honorary title (noncompensated) 12 months '...
So, I can't say to John, but if we can't get involved in these things, you cannot be a Director of Ace... and this isn't "depromoted", probably less time for this.

    Nicolas.
