Windows 7 Home Premium current to run extremely slow, gel

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on a 6 month old Dell XPS 630i, who ran Super fast until a few days ago, when things have changed suddenly.  I noticed that it would be "hibernate" and stop responding, despite the fact that I don't have the parameters of active Hibernate.  Then I noticed it works exceptionally slow, each program hangs up.  The CPU says it works at 100% constantly, physical memory is anywhere between 50 and 95% all the time.  I also noticed that now, by activating the screensaver (photos) I get a message saying the folder is empty even if it's not, and it's freezing.  My virus protection office (McAfee) is up-to-date and picked up nothing.  I did a system restore to see if this corrects the problem without success.  I talked to Dell support and they had me go into the bios and increase the power settings (voltage), which helped a bit but it is still cold and slow.  Any suggestions?

Hello Umeshat,

Often we see poor performance as the result of a program from loading at startup.

To solve these, we use the clean boot troubleshooting.

The following article describes this process:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

This article is an all inclusive version of the processes described previously.

If this does not work, I recommend creating a new thread for this question so that the community can focus on specific questions of your PC.

I am running windows 7 Home premium 64 bit on my laptop. I have a disc of windows 7 ultimate 32 bit, is it possible to upgrade to the ultimate disk, if so, how, if not how do I use the ultimate disc? Thank you very much, Mark.

No, you can't, but if its Windows 7 Ultimate you want, simply use the Windows 7 Ultimate product key to upgrade Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate using Anytime Upgrade.

If the license for Windows 7 Ultimate, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate. First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Ultimate edition at the request, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify you updating the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate files the stored settings and programs.

Cases of failure to upgrade Express:

    Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade fails:

If your getting the following: error: Windows Anytime Upgrade failed
This problem may occur if Windows 7 SP1 was downloaded by Windows Update, but has not yet been installed.
    See: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2660811

Windows Anytime Upgrade fails with the error:
"every time that the upgrade has failed. Go online to solve the problem.

If Anytime Upgrade still does not work:

2 change user account control settings

    3. pull the slider to the level as low as possible

    4. restart the PC

    5. pass by the "Anytime Upgrade" as usual

    Try the following:

1 disable any security software before attempting to upgrade

    2. make sure that your computer is updated (devices and applications)

    3. disconnect all external devices before installing.

    4. check your hard disk for errors:

    Click Start

Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD

    Click on "Run as Administrator"

At the command prompt, type: chkdsk /f /r

When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and will try to correct them.

  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit and my DirectX diagnostic tool says that my current version is DirectX 11, but when I try to run space engineers, it tells me that I need to run DirectX 11

    * Original title: DirectX and space engineers

Hello, I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit and my diagnosis tool DirectX says that my current version is DirectX 11, but when I try to run space engineers and use a world with planets, he tells me that I need to run DirectX 11. When I go to my DirectX folder, it says that I am running DirectX 9.0, I'm very confused and internet only helped me at all up to this point. All suggestions/help and help will be greatly appreciated.

Well, is it not a strange ball game? Minimum = DX9 and DX11 for planets.

Looks like no shore leave for you then... :)

"NOTE: the minimum requirements are enough to run the game, but without the global functions,

    which requires DirectX 11. »

"When I go into my file DirectX it tells me that I'm running DirectX 9.0"

    Direct X folder?

Win7 has DX9, 10 & 11. However, older graphics cards are not be able to use DX11 (or DX10 if old enough).

It comes to graphics cards which are older than AMD HD 5000 (version ' 09) and Nvidia GTX 400 (exit 10) series.

EDIT: This also applies to the older map HD4000 Intel integrated graphics (Inc., HD3000, and all the "GMA" graphic integrated).

    ----------------------

-Here is a list of the .dll Direct X files you when files are updated.
There are more files DX (Xinput and audio), but these are most of the graphs related to Direct X .dll

Go to Windows / System 32 folder (and SysWOW64 if you have 64-bit).
    -They are in alphabetical order and begin by d3dx9_24.dll > 43. Then d3dx10 - 33 43 >
    . & Finally d3dx11 - 42 43 >.
    It should also be--d3d9, d3d10 and d3d11. These come before the D3Dcompilers - 33 > 43.

If all of these files is missing update Direct X using the DX Web Installer.

Download DirectX end-user Runtime Web Installer from the official Microsoft Download Center

Sometimes, a file is corrupt (mainly by games always reinstall DX unnecessarily). I have this case

DX must be reinstalled using the full DirectX redist (June 2010) -

  • MS Office teacher & 2002 edition will run on windows 7 Home Premium?

My existing operating system is MS Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3. It also has MS Office teacher & edition 2002, everything that I want to keep (I have yet 2 licenses for the software).
My question is I am about to buy a new Dell with Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) laptop and I'm not sure whether or not she will run the software MS Office student & teacher 2002 above. Will it take for the new laptop currently on the order of upgrade to Windows 7 Professional because it has XP mode which is not Windows 7 Home Premium?

    Technophobemad,
You need to go to Windows 7 Ultimate to use Office 2003.  It is fully compatible with Windows 7 64 bit.

  • Problem running Battlestations Pacific with Windows 7 Home Premium

I just buy Battlestations Pacific and tried to load it on my laptop ASUS G72GX under Windows 7 Home Premium.  The game seems to load correctly, the shortcut will appear in the Games folder; However, when he tries to run the screen goes black, the cursor shows that the program is "pending" then I get spilled on the desk with a message that the program has stopped running and the computer will try now Windows to solve the problem, after a minute or so, I get a message that there is currently no solution and the program is to be arrested.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, I tried to use troubleshooting compatibility to run it under Vista and XP (Service Pack 2) mode and it does not work.  I have loaded the game on my sons office that works under XP (Service Pack 2) and it loaded and ran without any problems.

  • I am running Windows Vista Home Premium and want to know if I can upgrade to Windows 7 using Windows 7 anytime upgrade?

    original title: Windows Update

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium and want to know if I can upgrade to Windows 7 using Windows 7 anytime upgrade

    No, it will not work.

Windows 7 anytime upgrade: you have Vista or XP currently installed?

If the product you have Windows 7 'Anytime Upgrade' does not allow to move from XP/Vista to Windows 7. You can buy the product at retail of Windows 7 Upgrade not the ' Anytime Upgrade '.

Windows 7 'Anytime Upgrade' is for moving from one version of Windows 7 to a higher version, such as Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional.

  • HP G60 - 533CL: HP G60 - 533 CL laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade-compatible to Windows 10?

    Hello:

My parents have a notebook HP G60 - 533 CL running Windows 7 Home Premium OS.

Are you aware of the issues/incompatibilities with Windows 7 upgrade to the latest version of Windows 10 known?

Are there elements of Windows 7 which does not support the Windows 10 (e.g., audio, video) on this laptop?

They installed Office 2007 Home and student version.  It will work with Windows 10 yet?

I've heard talk about Lenovo ThinkPads crashing 10 Windows when the user tries to access its built-in webcam.

The webcam on the HP G60 - 533 CL did not work properly when the laptop is released, but about a year later, after an update of the driver had been released.

Are there drivers... for example, printer, screen, touchpad, etc..  ... which should be upgraded so that this laptop work with Windows 10 ?

    Thank you

    You properly the process.

Macrium Reflect has instructions on their website showing how to make backups and images.  You have to walk through those before trying anything.

It is pretty simple as you can, with the examples in front of you, walk someone through it over the phone.

    Good luck

I recommend you to check whether the game is compatible with the version of the operating system installed on your computer. Link to Compatibility: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

Try to run the program in compatibility mode: make the older program run in this version of Windows:

  • I am running Microsoft Windows XP Home edition Version 2002 Service pack 3, use the 32-bit or 64-bit upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium?

running Microsoft Windows XP Home edition Version 2002 Service pack 3, used the 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade?

I followed the instructions on the card that came with the software... indicating that, if I look at my computer it was telling me that my computer works... either 64 or 32, but it does not work.  So my question is, how do you know?

You probably have the 32-bit version of XP (in most individuals, and if your system properties page does not have 64-bit, then you have 32-bit.)

However, if you now have XP 32 - bit or 64-bit XP isn't the issue that relate to your decision to install 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7.  This decision depends on the question to know if your hardware can support a 64-bit operating system.  In this regard, the main reason for users to install a 64-bit operating system is to allow the use of more than 4 GB of RAM.  If your hardware does support more than 4 GB of RAM, there is no interest to install the 64 bit version of Windows 7.

You run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor?  With what results?

Click Start > run and type msinfo32 in the "Open" box and click OK.
After the system information window has had time fill, click Edit > select all, and then click Edit > copy.
