ORACLE_HOME in Oracle RAC 11g (Windows Server 2008)

Hello

I've got 2 two nodes in a RAC Oracle 11 g in Windows Server 2008. Oracle software is installed in directory.

I realized that it has not been set ORACLE_HOME path. In the properties-> advanced-> Environment Variables, I see that ORACLE_HOME is empty.

-Which way would be the ORACLE_HOME: C:\app\bd\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1
-You have set up the same in the two nodes?

Thank you

I realized that it has not been set ORACLE_HOME path. In system-> Advanced-> Environment Variables properties, I see that ORACLE_HOME is empty.

its normal behavior

-Which way would be the ORACLE_HOME: C:\app\bd\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1

If you have installed this location, Yes

-You have set up the same in the two nodes?

in fact, you don't have HAVE to, its not need at all

    (1) install JDK 1.6
    (2) installation of WebLogic 10.3.4 (or, if you want to use FMW 11.1.1.3, install WLS 10.3.3)

  • RAC with Oracle VM and Windows Server

    Hi all,

We want to implement the system with Oracle database 11g or 10g 64 bit (CARS) on the OS of Microsoft Server 2008/2003. We do not have enough licenses for all the hearts, and we want to find a way to implement the RAC database with existing licenses.

Is this a good solution to use virtualization, as Oracle VM?
How much is safe to use virtualization?
Can we do Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) environments Oracle VM with Windows Server 2008 64-bit (or 2003 Server) operating system and use hard partition?
Is it better to invest in licenses or try with Oracle VM?

Oracle VM can be configured so that it is recognized as a difficult score.
Hard partitions allow customers of one license these CPU used by the partition instead of license all the processors on the physical server.

  • Oracle 10g to install on Windows server 2008 R2 (6.1)

    Hi all

I am trying to install Oracle 10 g on windows Server2008 R2 (6.1), but it gives an error that OS is not supported. I tried to install below version.

    Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.4.0)
    Enterprise/Standard Edition for Microsoft Windows Vista x 64, Windows Server 2008 x 64,
    Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 x 64, Windows 7 x 64

But it fails with the error that OS version 6.1 is not supported. On the download page, does it say for 10.2.0.5 patch of My Oracle support for windows server 2008 R2, I patch p8202632_10205_MSWIN - x 86-64 but it requires an oracle pre-installed home.

So, how can I install Oracle 10 g 10.2.0.4 don't settle and the patch requires a previous installation?

The reason why I want to install Oracle 10 g is our Java application is running in production on JDK 1.4 and Oracle 11 g provides not for JDK 1.4 JDBC driver, there is a JDBC driver for Oracle 11 g that can work with JDK 1.4?

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Best regards!

simpler is to use IgnoreSysPrereqs - key to avoud system check.
more complex - locate the file oraparam.ini under your dstributive db installation directory and edit the string

    Windows = 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 6.06.1

  • Uninstalling Oracle 11 g RAC from a Windows Server 2008 Server

Try to uninstall Oracle 11 g RAC from a Windows Server 2008.

    Following the instructions: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e25666/rem_orcl.htm

I was able to run the batch: C:\app\oracle\product > 11.2.0\dbhome_1\deinstall\deinstall.bat

    Last messages spoke uninstall successfully.

However, I had problems trying to delete the folder directory. According
Oracle forums, on Windows there are known problems this generic
"svchost.exe" process blocks some Oracle DLLs at startup time. To solve
the question that I followed the instructions:

    (1) rename %ORACLE_HOME%\bin to something else 2) reboot the machine 3) now remove the complete file

Then I went to the registry and delete the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Oracle

    Restart the machine.

Problem is that Oracle Services still exists on Windows Services (services.msc). So I see it again:

    -Oracle Service object
    -OracleASMService + ASM1
    -OracleJobSchedulerINTER1
    -OracleOHService
    -OracleOraCrs11g_home1TNSListener
    -OracleOraCrs11g_home1TNSListenerLISTENER_SCAN1
    -OracleServiceINTER1
These services link to executable files are deleted as:

    C:\app\11.2.0\grid\BIN\TNSLSNR

because directory folder has been deleted.

What should I do to remove these Windows services?

    Hello

You can try the following command to remove services in windows server 2008

Since the prompt command (run as administrator)

Prompt > sc delete "service name".

In this case, your command would look like

Prompt > sc delete "Oracle Service object.

Let me know if it helps

    See you soon,.

  • Oracle on Windows Server 2008 64 bit R2 client

Hello, we are using Oracle 11 G R2 database engine has. For the demand side, we expect to run the application on Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit, we watched to get the app to Oracle client on this platform and look there is no client available yet.
Anyone know when a customer Oracle will be available on this platform?

Unless you are in the official beta program (and I don't think they are registered new beta sites to this date), there is a public release until the publication of the production assuming that Oracle continues their common practice.

You will get errors during installation, but you should be able to tell the installer to ignore them. You can also run the Setup program with the indicator - ignoreSysPrereqs in order to bypass the prerequisite check during the installation.

Obviously, it's a bit out of my pay grade, but I'd be nervous about having a release date scheduled for your product until the 11 g R2 client is potentially available. It was me, I would make sure that I had a backup plan to be able to deliver the first version of the application on an earlier version of Windows which is certified with the 11g R1 client.
