Organization of styles

Given the multiplicity of styles of layers available for download on the internet, it would be nice to be able to organize them into categories in the Style Panel. The rollout Style has a number of predefined categories: abstract styles, buttons etc. I can't find a way to create a custom category. I can organize the files downloaded in the Windows Explorer, of course, but I would like to be able to load styles in PS so that I can find them later. How can I do?

The link was useful, although the instructions are based on an earlier version of the PS and certain persistence was needed to translate into new menus. The useful section of the document was in fact titled "create and manage preset styles' downstairs.

What you have to do is to load the set of styles you want to organize one of the existing libraries. In my case, I wanted to organize my text layer styles, so I loaded between them "text". Then, you save all of your effects desired as a file single .asl by Edit/Presets/Presets Manager and choosing "Styles" in the drop-down list of predefined type. There's a teeny weeny triangle of drop-down menu at the top right of the dialog Panel resulting, where you can select the library where your target styles were loaded, so I chose "text effects". You can then select all of your styles targeted in the usual way. The "Backup" button activates. This button displays a dialog of Windows Explorer where you can save a .asl file to anywhere you like with the name that you want. The name will appear later under the name of your custom style library. Now comes the secret trick. You get PS and go to Windows Explorer. You move the file .asl, that you just saved to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2015\Presets\Styles. The next time you launch PS, the name of your custom library is displayed in the Panel menu Styles drop-down. You just do not forget to remove your organized styles where you initially uploaded to them.

Kerning in Indesign

I work with a police crénée particularly badly during the use of capital letters and a design strategy that requires that all caps typography. Anyone know if there is a script that will apply the specific from kerning to paragraph styles and character-level?

My resolution for this issue, was to create GREP styles for combinations of characters problem; keeping in mind, the question is specifically using all caps formatting; kerning around some caps (A, X and W are particularly bad offenders within this police) within a specific font family. Small letters and caps and lowercase combinations seem not to have too many questions. What look like the GREPs is as follows;

So you can see, the GREP (s) seeks Positive Lookahead and Lookbehind positive occurrences. For example, the first GREP (?<> ) is the search for any occurrence of a has lower or capital which is followed by lower case or caps of C or Oand apply then the character song + 50style.

GREP second to the bottom of this [a |] A] ( ? = [m | M | n | N | t | T]) is the search for any occurrence of a low or a hat has preceded lowercase or M, Nor T plugs and applies the character + 25-songstyle.

In addition, the character style is applied underscore so that I can immediately see where kerning was applied; each tracking value having its own color assigned. After that I checked all kerning pairs in the book, I can then turn them off to a style of uniqueness (since I am huge on correctly related styles) to turn off all the features of underscores in the file. The only thing I could do is do not attempt to place any exceptions tracking in a single command GREP (as I do here)... its becoming a little management nightmare trying to remember the values that have been applied where when you scroll just GREP.

But, there you go! So far so good. Not expensive printer to generate a custom table of kern. And, not to the management and script debugging and monitoring values are built in the style, so they cannot be accidentally blown away by re - apply the paragraph style. And, if I organize my styles to paragraphs correctly, I have to build these substitutions once (that is, paragraphs which are uppercase and use a specific tracking value, all use the same combinations of substitution GREP, so if I base them all off a master paragraph style, then any changes made to the ripple of master through the whole document...) I love the option based on!).

I just have to wonder if there is an upper limit of how many GREP styles may exist in the single paragraph style. Assuming that I do one of these GREPs for each combination of characters... what?... 650 GREPs to define? Made my head swim just to find the language Positive Lookahead and Lookbehind.

Organize the former file based photo albums

I want to use pictures for its operation. The problem is that, over the years of using iPhoto, and before that we have our big mac, we had albums based on records. It's the style of back in the day. So, this is the crux of the problem. Yes, photos were not settled as of the events in the oldest in iPhoto. I want to take the old 'albums' folder, turn them into what that photo considers that a form of organization.

These image files were probably not related "tags" or "Key words". When you look at the older JPEG files, the metadata date taken is simply not there, and the date of creation was when we copied the PC to Mac. So without record details, we would lose the dates.

I'm willing and able to start from scratch, based on a list of folders that contain images with missing 'date', but a clear folder with a date name and then import them into Photos. If I did, they all end up as 2012 when we moved from windows to Mac photos. Very bad.

Is there a good way to tackle this, even if we buy software to help?

define a default naming style for taking photos

Is there a place where I can put the default naming style to take photos? I would always appoint as YYYY-MM-DD, such on 2011-02-01 so that the pictures will be displayed always sort in their correct order by year/month and then the day in the folder my pictures, and my subfolders.

Library organizes not only optimized files

I wasn't sure how the title of this question. I have the WD Black ^ 2 double disc in my laptop, and I keep my files on the stretch of 1 tera-bytes of disk. I've linked my libraries in folders on the storage disk; I have the folders on the storage drive optimized for the respective file types, but when I access files through libraries, they are not organised according to their optimization. I tried to solve the records of libraries, but there is no customization tab to select. Any ideas?

Libraries are results simply defined by XML arranged in a way that looks like a folder, but since this is just a collection of objects of search results, all records will be taken on the style of the library and not the folder. There is no way to change this, but you can change how the library organizes the content of these two locations:

Adobe elements ORGANIZER problems 14

Recently improved to 12 items at 14. 12 items, I never used the Organizer, but decided to do it with 14 elements. A problem occurred today since trying to my catalog files.
I have a Mac that runs on El Capitan version 10.11.4 - problem seems to be that when you configure the Organizer all the files in my photo folder have been extracted and are now individually in images. They also have a numbering begins with B0012650 system. JPG to B0029316. NAVE and Backup.tly then Catalog.buc it takes 146,92 GB and represents 16557 Documents.
There are also a number of items starting B0000000.cache then B00000002 then B00000003.json to Boo12652.json then Boo12653.dat then Boo12654.dat then Boo12655.cache in all a total 0f 12656 elements occupying 113.9 MB.
My original photos which is held in the files the photo amounted to 120 files and occupy 202,66 GB, it seems that the organizer of items has now exhausted still 146,92 GB for images and 113.9 MB because I guess that metadata.
Can anyone out there advise if this is correct or is something not good. Adobe just told me to read some documents but non of them seem to show the point above.

The problem may be that the elements that you show are mixed with other unrelated to those in the main folder of photos.

Maybe not, but all the files you mentioned belong to a backup, as well as .xml or .xmp files possible and... specific subfolders.

If you create a master folder where you want your catalogue to be. It is considered in the 'custom' location by the Organizer.

From the Finder, you select all files (i.e. all starting by B00...) and move or copy to the empty folder.

The backup folder will be ready for a restore on the file menu.

In your case, since your 14 elements works, could be easier to voluntarily create a new backup to an external drive and simply delete the items above in your main folder of photos. That would free up unwanted space on your computer and you would have a new backup.

The wrong backup can also created named subfolders:

Normally you can delete them all, but if you fear that these subfolders can be used by the Mac (unlikely), you could start by renaming them all first and if you get wrong, I mean delete.

You can control when the styles are added on your style sheet?

I would like to have css files organized in a certain way for the ease of use and DW sometimes join the end and sometimes add to the middle.

It is quite easy to organize styles in CSS designer. There are several aspects:
- When a selector is already selected in the pane of selectors, by clicking on the button "+" to create a new selector inserts the new rule of style immediately after the selected one.
- If you want to move the selectors in your stylesheet, you can drag and drop them in the Panel of selectors. The style rules will be moved to the new location in the style sheet.
- You can even move a different style sheet style rules. Select the styles that you want to move and begin to drag. Keep the mouse button while dragging on the @Media pane and then drag the style selected on the stylesheet to target in the Sources pane.
- To adapt a style rule existing for use in a media query, right click on the selector and choose duplicate in the query on the shortcut menu. You can then select the media query in the submenu that appears.

How to organize assets in Adobe Audition

I have exported to hearing my Premiere Pro sessions for the mix and liked the flexibility of what can do hearing. But I've also been completely baffled by how we organize assets in an effective way (e.g. using folders or locations as in After Effects or Premiere). I'm only editing one: 60 trailer and I am getting lost trying to find the files I need. I can't imagine trying to audio-post on a short film (or God forbid any type of function) If this option does not exist. I googled around and found people asking these questions since 2009, with none of them responded.

Sometimes this kind of thing happens, and I'm pleasantly surprised that there is an easy option, I have somehow missed.
Often, I am convinced that Adobe built cars as it makes the software, cars would be without flashing lights or headlights.
I'm afraid we have a moment of "flagship" here. Please, someone prove me wrong.

No locations of Premiere Pro style yet.

For me, there is nothing magical about the bins... I just create my own system of file/folder in Windows (and guess you could do the same in Mac OS). I don't mind much, but it's probably because I used a software audio editing without its own bins for about 20 years.

That said, just lately I found myself doing many more things in Premiere Pro and discovered the wonder of working with bins. I hope that, because Adobe want more integration between their different software, bins and all file management that goes with them could be something that we can talk about. It might be useful to submit a feature request.

Where is the paragraph style tools in Indesign CC2014?

Hello! I just started to use IDs through creative cloud on a new computer (using CC CS6 for two years), and the installer gave me rather than CS6 CC2014. So it is a question only on CC2014.
Where is the window paragraph styles? Specifically, how can I edit, create and organize the paragraph styles, and how do I get a window up on the main screen with all stated styles? All these things were easy to find in CS6, but I can't find them in CC2014. The only thing I get (and with a bit of customization). is a drop-down list on the main toolbar, which allows me to choose from among the existing options on an existing document.
There is no option of paragraph Windows Styles > Styles.
There is no option under Type of paragraph Styles.
The only paragraph window that appears is designed for text editing as you go along, don't not to apply styles.
Using the options all point me back them to the entrance for CS6 and tell me to go to Type > paragraph Styles (which does not exist).
I can't get a window up on the main screen to instantly apply styles in a list. I only get this drop, which has no other options.
Can someone tell me some updated guidance or explain where all paragraph options are and how do I use them? If not, can I go back to CS6? It was easy and intuitive on the front, and now it's not...

Nothing has changed on the styles. It's exactly the same thing as CS6. Perhaps you need to restore your preferences.

Script Export single Pages with the name and file custom paragraph Style?

I have a document called "mydocument".

I have a several pages in the document.

Each page has a title of"style with a stylesheet called point title.

I need to export each page as individual .jpg with a custom file name

myDocument-01 - title.jpg

01 is the page number

Seemed like a simple request... but it turns out that it's a little challenging.

1. Add the name of "mydocument".

Is it possible to do it in InDesign?
I want to give InDesign training: "Apple a paragraph before of 3mm except IF a paragraph style {'title'} ' I want a 'before' larger paragraph on the body of the text when it follows a paragraph in the same style and a narrower paragraph"before"when it follows a cap.

Nope, InDesign does not have conditional styles. It would be very useful

feature and you should consider filing a feature request.

It should always do everything manually - define a separate paragraph

for each difference in style and apply the styles to paragraph manually. Then

you have a style called "Subtitle A" and another called "subtitle has."

After the title of the chapter"etc etc.

To help keep things under control, it is probably worth taking the time

to create groups of style paragraph and the different, but related,.

in their own paragraph styles group. But it is purely a

organizational thing - it does in fact no additional functionality.

Cut out the tedious process of having to go through all your

document by applying right paragraph styles, I sell a script on my

website (www.freelancebookdesign.com) called "changes".

Paragraphs', that allows to say something like: "whenever the subtitle.

is followed by the title of the chapter, replace the subtitle A with

Sous-titre-A-suite-chapitre-titre"etc. It passes then through the

document and made the necessary adjustments. Many people use this

script to save hours of tedious work. Worth a visit if you

do a lot of it, I think.

I need to share styles massively across the entire application in a mobile project.
Of course, it would be easy anywhere else... styleManager.loadStylesheet or similar.
But in the mobile...
I think I am resigned to the compilation of a single, large stylesheet with many variations, but I still need a succinct way to swap all through the entire application... something like FlexGlobals.topLevelApplication.styleName = "bob";
Someone told not clever writing CSS to allow me to do it in one fell swoop?

separate image styles

How can we apply an image different css styles? I have a logo andi want to put an image in the footer, but when I apply the absolute position property footer image goes on top of the logo at the beginning of the page and when I move the logo moves as well... Here is the code for my page
