Original edit in its native format

This is a quickie, I'm sure... How can I adjust it so that when I choose ' Edit original ' in the links Panel, it opens the link it is native format instead of an excerpt?

On Mac, InDesign will open the file in which application the Finder would use to open it. You can set the application by selecting an image of the same type in the Finder, open a window 'Get Info' about it, your desired application from the popup menu 'Open with', finally press the button "Change all... "just below. For some reason, the Finder periodically loses his mind about these associations and should be recalled.

In InDesign CS4, there is a menu item "open with...". "just below"Edit Original"that allows to a chosen editing app on an image by image basis.

  • change in native format point oriented oracle sdo_geometry

    In my workplace, we have a few old tables that have a point geometry using format (now obsolete) oriented point of GeoMedia which has a 0 (undefined) ETYPE and interpretation custom of 6000 in the ELEM_INFO_ARRAY before the definition of the point. For example:

    SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY (1, 0, 6000, 4, 1, 1)

    GeoMedia interprets the first triplet (0, 1, 6000) as its format oriented point (before Oracle 10 g, point preserved GeoMedia direction using this custom format).

    The second triplet describes the location of the coordinates. Since oracle 10g Oracle introduced an oriented point native format:

     SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY (1, 1, 1,   3, 1,0)

    The problem I encounter with the old format of GeoMedia, is that some applications do not recognize the format of the ETYPE 0 in the first triplet (0, 1, 6000). So what I would do is use SQL or PL/SQL to change format of GeoMedia in East point native format Oracle sdo_geometry.

    Currently I have a geometry point such as:

    MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY(2001,2193,NULL,
                          MDSYS.SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1,0,6000,4,1,1),
                          MDSYS.SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(1,0,0,989345,7854351));

    But instead I want point format oriented Oracle. For this geometry is:

    MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY(2001,2193,NULL,
                          MDSYS.SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1, 1, 1,  3, 1, 0),
                          MDSYS.SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(989345, 7854351, 1, 0));

    In summary, I need to change Ansdo_elem_info to (1,0,6000, 4,1,1) to (1,1,1, 3,1,0) and position of the sdo_ordinates must change so that the coordinates (989345, 7854351) move to position 4 and 5: 1 and 2 and the vector orientation (i, j) must be moved from position 1 and 2 in the sdo_ordinates_array at position 3 and 4.

    However, I don't know how to do this - I don't know PL/SQL but found a script online that I tried to change it to:

    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION ChangeGMformat2OracleOrient (GEO IN MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY) RETURN MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY AS
        POINT MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY;
        BEGIN
        Point := MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY( 2001, 2193, null, MDSYS.SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1, 1, 1,  3, 1, 0),
                                    MDSYS.SDO_ORDINATES_ARRAY( GEO.SDO_ORDINATES(4), GEO.SDO_ORDINATES(5), GEO.SDO_ORDINATES(1), GEO.SDO_ORDINATES(2)));
        return Point;
        end;

    However, the error message I get is:

    Error (5.9): PLS-00201: identifier ' MDSYS. SDO_ORDINATES_ARRAY' must be declared.

    Assistance on this would be appreciated.

    This is a typo and should be MDSYS. SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY.

  • Bulk move send email to Mac native format on my hard drive?

    Can I to bulk move/export Send Mail on my hard drive to the native format of Mail? My goal is to move mail from a value of savings of online web email accounts in my hierarchy of folders on the local hard disk. Check the mail - like and export functions do not seem to do that.

    I can drag an email both of Mail on my local drive and it works, but by dragging multiple messages at the same time produces inconsistent results.

    I assume you mean you want to move mail from your IMAP account in the messaging app for local folders to remove the server. Is this correct?

    Create local mailbox slot on my Mac. You can create the mailboxes also sup. If you move messages from a mailbox in the IMAP account to local mailboxes, then they will only be kept on the computer.

    Select all the messages you want and right-click. Choose Move Messages to and select the mailbox to move too.

    If I do are on back to the PS from LR, use original edit, my LR are not displayed.  Has anyone seen this?

    1 edit an Original RAW in Photoshop file opens a new pixel (.tiff or .psd) image without any changes in LR.

    2 edit "with Lightroom publishes" opens a new image (.tiff, .psd) pixel with the LR changes preserved in the new file.

    3. change a psd or .tiff file Original in Photoshop (ie. re - open a Photoshop file) opens in Photoshop, exactly as you saved it.

    One problem! If you edit a .psd or .tiff file in Lightroom and then re - open in Photoshop and Lightroom flattens the image and Photoshop previous edition (layers, etc.) is everything HAPPENED!

    Suggest that all first edition lightroom then go into Photoshop for finishing. Consider un.pdf/.tiff your editing "final".

    Create virtual copies if you want to do more editing in Lightroom with Photoshop retouching.

    Big hint - Open images by 'Open as Smart Object in Photoshop' then you have the opportunity to re - open the layer Photoshop (background) (Smart Object) in ACR for more crude adjustment. It uses the ACR version related to Photoshop (not Lightroom)

  • Wizard file adapter-> Native Format generator - no space in the header?

    My project uses a file delimited text provided to the seller. The first line of the file is a header, followed by rows of data.  The problem is that the header elements contain spaces, which are not accepted by the constructor of Native Format.

    Everyone knows that before and know a good workaround solution? Or, is this a known problem?

    You can use the 'headerLines' attribute in the 'plan' of top-level tag. It would look like this nxsd:headerLines = '1 '.

    This will jump the first header line and will start in the No. 2 line.

  • Modify imported .eps, the original "edit" button opens a pdf file

    I try to import a .eps file, but I need to modify the original. When I click on the original 'edit' button it opens a pdf file. Is there anyway other than image trace to sketch the eps so I can change it?

    What do you get he call you just file > open... and open the EPS file? If it is indeed the vector, it should open in edit-able condition. If you bring via file > Place, there should be a "Embed" button available on the options bar, which should also put in a State of edit-able.

  • What are the benefits (if any) of transcoding to an intermediate editing for post production format?

    I have searched for an answer final to this day and impossible to get something useful.

    My recordings to the AVCHD format that is 24mbps H.264 video and audio camera (I record audio separately so audio is not a cause for concern). I use the following Adobe CC on Windows. I do a lot of green screen work.

    I read on many intermediate codecs designed for video editing. Include DNxHD of Avid, Apple ProRes, Cineform of GoPro, MXF OP1a, among others. As I understand it, these formats offer excellent features help video publishers to do their work.

    I was able to edit files directly AVCHD with Premiere Pro and after affects.

    My question is, what are the benefits, if any, I'd get if I converted my content from AVCHD to one of the intermediate formats before as I have start to change? It would speed up Adobe software? It would provide the best quality in the end? It would make various effects function better?

    Ultimately, all the videos I do will be encoded in the format h.264 for web distribution.

    Please note: I am not asking the workflow easier or more obvious (which is just to work with AVCHD files directly). I want to know if I can gain advantages in transcoding in another format before I in post-production and that these benefits are specifically for each of the different intermediate codecs.

    Thank you.

    Well, every format has its own advantages and disadvantages. Higher end codecs tend to be very large and take much more space, but behave better when apply effects or greenscreen work.

    However, you cannot really improve the quality that comes from your camera, it is an indispensable part of the workflow. You CAN transcode to, say, ProRes HQ and get better results with your fx work, but it will be as good as something turned on a higher end camera.

    Maybe do some tests on a small piece of video. Transcode into several codecs and do exactly the same treatment to all clips, including your original. Then compare them and see if the improvement is worth your time and additional hard drive space.

  • Lightroom 4.1 exports exports original edited photos

    Export of files on hard disk with the original item defined for the file type.      DNG file appears on the directory exported as photo cropped / mounted and there is no sidecar files.

    When I click on the history panel for this panel to export, it evokes the picture in the non cropped version just as I wish.

    I did a unclick on "stir fast load data" in the preferences and then a preview dng update as the fix for the problems of the bands when you view dng files in irfanview and picassa and that worked, but the hope that it does not my problem described above.

    See you soon,.

    Byron

    I just he, irfanview has a switch in their preferences to load or not load jpg embedded in raw files when you open the file first and it works great

    It does not expose a hole in lightroom / bridge adobe etc which should be plugged in at any given time.    Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and Richard for the tips on the embedded image.   When looking for this, I first met Pentax users faced with the problem of gangs in external viewers dng files and this is a pretty serious problem too good that must be worked by a person (don't know which software should be changed, but adobe should take the initiative on the analysis / solutions).

    See you soon,.

    Byron

    PS: my complaint is specific: the embedded jpg in dng format should reflect the raw photo in the dng.     If I exit an orginal lightroom dng, then shipped it jpg for this dng file should also be original version (not the transformed / cropped).    A second point, all Adobe products when you handle dng files should use the data raw dng rather than the embedded jpg data, it is not clear at all to me that this is the case.       At the same time I had a lot more respect for the DNG, yet appreciate it, but

  • Original Edit > cannot save the image

    Hi, have a strange problem for a few days. If I change the image (PSD) in InDesign with the 'Edit original' command in Photoshop sometimes once picture editing, I get the message "cannot save" C:... /... psd ' because the file is already in use or left open "when I try to save. If I close the file in InDesign I save again the image in PhotoShop. Sometimes not all the time. I do not work with files on the server. It's just me alone...

    Anyone experienced this kind of behavior?

    Photoshop 11.0.1 + system Win XP SP3, InDesign 6.0.3. (CS4)

    Claudius

    I had this same problem, but I tried to export my file in format .idml (InDesign Markup) and he re-recorded as a new indesign file. Maybe try that? -Sort the problem (so far) with me.

  • My external hard drive has changed its Mac format to NTFS by itself. If anyone else has experienced this?

    I would post screenshots, but I'm currently back up backup (lol) my hard drive to another drive so I can reformat the drive. Anyway, today I plugged my Toshiba Caniva 1 TB external to some organization. I went to delete something (Cmd + delete) and nothing happened. So, I tried to drag and drop it into the basket and received a message saying that the file cannot be removed. It's weird, I thought. So, I open disk utility and discover that my external hard drive has decided to change to NTFS on its own. I tried to eject and reconnect it - that did not work. I tried to restart - which did not work. I thought that my USB hub could be a problem - nope. The only things that have changed since I last used my outside is that I changed the battery in my MacBook, put in an SSD and upgraded to El Capitan. I don't see how one of these could cause this but I thought I would mention it. Anyone who has something similar happens? Thank you.

    The reader not to not reformat in NTFS. If the disk has been reformatted would vanish all your data. I suspect that before you upgrade to El Capitan you ran a third party app that would allow you to use NTFS formatted disk. Once you upgrade to El Capitan the app is no longer compatible with your new operating system. You must download and install an upgraded version of your application that supports El Capitan. Or, you can copy all data from the disk and reformat then for your Mac.

  • editing EPS; cover page; Format EPS

    Hello.

    I am totally new to using ADOBE. I am curretnly usin the trial version. See how it goes before you buy.

    I had fr. INDD file which is a catalog. I need to translate it into another language.

    Question 1:

    Looks like I can't copy the fonts to the fonts directory. Because of the trial version?

    Question 2:

    The cover is actually an EPS file. How can I change the text to this topic (the content)?

    Thx a lot in advance for your kind responses and the time you spend on the answer to this post...

    Best regards

    N

    EPS is a file format based on the postscript system that is old as points out Bob.

    Discover the origins, you can open the EPS in a Notepad or similar text editor (not Word or a word processing program!)

    The first lines should give an indication of the program used to create the EPS.

    Based on this, you can use this program to make any changes.

    Please note - if it's a Photoshop EPS then reopen in Photoshop will flatten (rasterized) the vector of all the layers if necessary, including text layers, vector shapes and vector masks.

  • Optimal editable to transcode to format

    Hi all

    First time poster here.

    I produce a training video on my place of work. If the audio is always necessary, it is recorded separately.

    What I want to do it as efficiently as possible, it is to save my "keeper" without the audio clips.

    My images are captured as one. MTS file at 1440 X 1080 29.9 fps.

    What is the smartest way to re - save these files without the audio channel while keeping the same resolution?

    Thank you

    Erik

    I want to re - save the video file to the same quality as the original (as possible), but not to keep the audio track.

    Your best bet is to demux, not to transcode. However, you cannot demux with Adobe Suite, you must use tools such as ffmpeg (which is free and fast).

    The following command line will be batch convert your MTS files MTS files without audio, located in the DEMUXED subfolder (have you create in advance):

    for %% in ("*.") (MTS») \ffmpeg-i' % a ' vcodec - copy - a 'DEMUXED\%%~na. MTS.

    Note that if you split clips MTS, extending on will be ruined.

    I'm better to export to WMV, MP4 or something else with the intention of future change?

    No, future Assembly you must transcode to a codec of production, either 'film' - based such as ProRes, DNxHD, UT video etc, or imager as DPX, JPEG 2000, TIFF, TGA, PNG. Some image based formats can be incorporated into a 'film' container
