To connect to another domain

Hi all

In my company, we have different domain based on the project. I want to connect via the desktop remotely to another computer with different domain.

Could you please let me know how? What are the required for that setting? Response of details will be appreciated.

  • Windows XP Shared printer - can't connect from another domain

We have a shared printer on a Windows XP Pro WS, which is in a new area (we are currently migrating to a new domain... long story). This printer is shared with access to all Documents Print/manage the printers/manage. However, the machines in the old domain cannot connect to this printer. Back, he throws a «...» Access denied error. Normally I would expect the client machine to connect to the shared printer to the seizure of another name of user and password, but this does not happen.

  • After going instant return, get Windows cannot connect to the domain

I created a team with a domain controller, a box of SQL and a front-end server. I also took a few shots on the front-end and sql. The problem is when I go back to a snapshot and if I logout or restart the server on the sql or the frondend, do not touch the domain controller, when I try to log into the server, I get the follow-up:

"Unable to connect ot the domain, either because the domain controller is down or otherwise, unavalible, your computer account was not found... »

I can unjoint and join the server and the problem by far, but there is another difficulty.

    Thank you.

When you join a system to a domain, a computer account is created in the domain of the system.  Your server automatically changes the password for this account of computer at set intervals.  What happens is that after you've taken your snapshot your guest has changed his password for the machine account.  Then when go back you to your snapshot your guest tent to use the old password.

To work around this problem, before you take the mark of the snapshot next registry change that turns off the changes of automatic password for the computer account on the domain:

  • The server has not completed the compliance audit of the licenses. If the server is joined to a domain, make sure that the server can connect to a domain controller.

    Hi all

Can I confirm with expert from Microsoft, it's windows foundation server 2012 may not be the first domain controller (which means that the first AD in the forest)? It must be attached to the root of the forest as a domain controller. If I'm promoting it to be first DC in new forest, he invites you to "the server has not completed the compliance audit of the licenses. If the server is joined to a domain, make sure that the server can connect to a domain controller. If the license compliant check cannot be completed, the server will automatically close in 9 days...

  • get internet connection through another computer...

    Hello

I would go straight to the point :)

I have a desktop running windows vista. I have a normal internet connection through a router that connects to the internet on this desktop computer.

now, I also have a laptop with windows xp and here is what I do. my laptop's wireless was always bothers me, sometimes it connects, sometimes it doesn't work out... so I saw that there is an Ethernet card installed in the laptop with an Ethernet port.

    My question is this:

I have a lot of Ethernet cables at home and I was wondering if there is a way to get internet to my laptop via the Ethernet port on my desktop, but without needing the desktop computer to be running, cause I only use my laptop these days and my router is too far to connect from my room. I hope you understand my problem. In theory, I think it's possible to do, but I'm not sure how, so please help me on this one. my laptop also has firewire, but I prefer ethernet for some reason any.

    Thank you

    Hello

Sorry, but you cannot get a connection via another computer if the computer is off.

I'm not sure that I understand completely the topology.  However, if the office is connected by cable to a router for Internet connection, you can solve the problem by buying a simple network switch.

You take the cable from the desktop and connect to the switch. Then you plug the desktop and laptop computer at the switch.

That this switch network does, it divides a cable to feed many computers.

Example of a switch that can be connected with a cable to a router and feed 5 computers.

  • Determine if local user accounts are still on the PC connected to the domain

    Greetings,

I tried to perform the basic research for this question: how is local user accounts are still on the PC connected to a domain.  I tried to use the MBSA tool, but it does not have what I ask.  In addition, our Organization is not in using scripts or VB code.  Are there other tools that can help meet this demand?

  • 802.1 x and widnows connection to the domain

I want to clarify the 802. 1 x and the windows domain logon process. configured the Protocol EAP - MD5 with CSACS 3.3.1 beta switch, W2K, 3550.

    (1) what is first? connection to the Windows domain or 802. 1 x?

    (2) if the connection to the domain first, how I can log in to the switch port 802. 1 x active? I need to connect to the windows cache before 802.1 x?

    (3) I got the 802. 1 x authentication calls prior to obtaining an IP address from the DHCP server. the works of 802. layer2 is 1 x?

    Thank you

    (1) 802.1 x

    (2) before the same connection, your computer account is authenticated using 802. 1 x. Once you log on, your domain credentials are based on the radius for authentication server. While in this case, your machine connects you with the credentials cached. If the credentials happen to be expired/disabled, the authentication process fails and the port will be err-disabled people.

    (3) Yes (I think). The machine will not be able to get an IP, ping, no matter WHAT, until this only authenticated. Even if the host has to a static IP, the port will not pass traffic until it has been authenticated.

Don't forget that MD5 is rolling out dot1x simpler, but also the most vulnerable (because the credentials are passed using a simple md5 hash). I highly recommend using PEAP, EAP - TLS or FAST-LEAP
