OS platform version vs version
Hello
I want to check the operating system version, but using DeviceInfo.getPlatformVersion () returns the platform only version. (getOSVersion is deprecated)
Is there a documentation version of the major version of the OS platform mapping?
Thank you
Examples of versions of operating system and platform on real device...
v4.2.2.180 (Platform 2.5.0.36) on a 8300
v4.6.0.92 (Platform 4.0.0.117) on a 9000

Error: Platform version 1.9.2.4 is not compatible with minVersion > = 1.9.2.6 maxVersion = 1.9.2.6 maxVersion
Eric, this can happen after an update has failed that partially changed your Firefox installation directory.
Try a clean reinstall:
1. Download the Firefox installer from Mozilla.com and save it to your desktop or other location. 2. Make sure that Firefox is closed completely 3. Delete the Firefox installation directory (On Windows, this is typically the C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox folder that contains "firefox.exe" and other Firefox program files and folders). 4. Reinstall Firefox by running the installer you downloaded previously.
Your personal settings, including bookmarks and history, will not be lost.

Cod app and library can be for different platform versions?
I am writing an application that must run on a wide range of versions of the device. Some of the application contains code depending on the version, but a little is independent of the version. Are there problems or special considerations for structuring an application as a main .cod file compiled for a specific platform version and a .cod of library which contains functions of "lowest common denominator" compiled for, say, 4.2.1?
What you propose works OK for us.
The library is developed in a different project and workspace, the "interface" between the use of the application and the library is the jar file, which is imported into dependent projects. This means that the two become completely independent, and it is possible to exchange the library for a later version on the device, without changing the main cod.
The biggest problem is multiple applications with the same shared library requiring different versions of this library. This section of the shared library has been discussed widely in the DevCon, so I hope that Rim will contribute to this requirement in some way in the future.

Mozilla crashes with error: platform version '26.0 ' is not compatible.
You try to run Mozilla and it sends an error:
Version of the platform "26.0 ' is not compatible with.
minVersion > = 25.0.1
MaxVersion < = 25.0.1Thanks for the reply. The solution could work. But in my workplace, I noticed that Firefox version 26.0 is not supported. Therefore, I uninstalled the latest version and is returned to the version 24.0. It works now. Thank you.

This is an image of what appears when I click on Firefox
This usually happens because of a Firefox update failure that left you with a mixture of old and update files in the Firefox program folder.
Do a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.
- Download the installer of Firefox and save the file to the desktop
https://www.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/all/
If possible to uninstall your current version of Firefox to clean the Windows registry and settings in the security software.
- Do NOT remove the "personal data" when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords including data profiles created by other versions of Firefox.
Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
- (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
- (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.
- It is important to remove the Firefox program folder to delete all the files and make sure that there is no problem with the files that were the remains after uninstallation.
Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but do NOT delete personal data when you uninstall Firefox which removes all Firefox profile folders and you lose your data.
- Download the installer of Firefox and save the file to the desktop

I use Windows 7, I resorted to the use of Google Chrome and it won't let me download a screen shot.
Sorry to hear about this, it seems rather obscure but sometimes the updater can leave a mixture of different version files in your Firefox program folder. (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser_will_not_start_up#XULRunner _...)
Here's what you need to do:
Clean reinstall it
We use this name, but it is not about the deletion of your settings, this is to ensure that program files are clean. As described below, this process does not disrupt your existing settings. Don't uninstall NOT Firefox, that does not need.
(1) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 37.0.2 of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).
(2) close Firefox (if applicable).
(3) to rename the program folder
(Windows 64-bit folder names)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
TO
C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox
(Windows 32-bit folder names)
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
TO
C:\Program Files\OldFirefox
(4) run the installer you downloaded in the #1. It should automatically connect to your existing settings.
Any improvement?
Note: Some plugins can only exist in this OldFirefox file. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:
- \OldFirefox\Plugins
- \OldFirefox\browser\plugins
-
They is no info that either it appears on the screen
You use ZoneAlarm (Extreme)?

On top of the above message says XULRunner
Is ZoneAlarm that is causing this problem and there is nothing that Mozilla can do about it.
ZoneAlarm Extreme protects files and Firefox can not update files for new versions.
You will need to do a clean reinstall and disable ZA extreme during the installation.- Firefox 6.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html

I noticed that firefox updated last night before I shut down my computer, and then when I turned it on this morning I received the error message that I described above. It doesn't let me Open firefox.
I don't know what you see or what generates error messages.
Firefox 10.0.1 should run on Windows XP, I have it running on an XP. I guess that the error message comes from a site/file Firefox tries to open or some plugin that you normally use with Firefox. You can try to confirm exactly what is the full message and it generates.
Maybe if you attach a screenshot of the message it would be useful to clarify what's happening...
